Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 3129: Chapter 3130: Request for an Audience

After arranging the Beast Blood Tree, Angel turned his gaze to the two glass bottles.

One contained memory fragments, useless to him, so he handed it over to Glaipnir as per their agreement.

The other bottle contained Bloodline Essence, which was also of no use to Angel, but he thought to ask Dororo if there was any need for it. With this in mind, Angel tucked the Bloodline Essence into his bracelet.

Once everything was done, Angel walked into the Illusion Technique Hut.

While organizing the items outside, he had noticed Glaipnir’s gaze; she hadn’t entered the Crystal Origin of Dreams but had kept her eyes on him, as if she had something to say.

Sure enough, once Angel entered the room, Glaipnir spoke first, ”There is something I need to ask your opinion on.”

Angel nodded, signaling to Glaipnir to speak freely.

”It’s like this, today over a hundred people came to Rabbit Town...”

However, not all among the hundred were new residents. Among them appeared a legitimate controller of the Charles Palace.

Charles Palace is an unusual place within the Daylight Mirror Domain because all its members were transformed from humans into mirror creatures through the Moss Stone Mirror.

The controllers of Charles Palace naturally are each generation’s kings of the Charles Royal Family in reality.

However, the success rate of transforming into mirror creatures via the Moss Stone Mirror is very low. Over many generations, only three kings from the Charles Royal Family achieved it.

These were Charles I, Charles II, and Charles XIII.

These three hold the reins of Charles Palace today.

Before yesterday, new residents coming to Rabbit Town were all nearing death in reality, trying their chance with the Moss Stone Mirror but failing, members of the Charles Royal Family.

But today, a big figure finally arrived in Rabbit Town: Charles XIII.

He was the first among the controllers to test the waters of the Crystal Origin of Dreams.

After entering the Crystal Origin of Dreams, through conversation with the new residents of Rabbit Town, he had already understood the current ecology of the new residents; later, he found Glaipnir and had a detailed conversation about the operational rules of the Crystal Origin of Dreams.

After discussing thoroughly, Charles XIII made a request to Glaipnir.

”He hopes to meet the creator of the Crystal Origin of Dreams.” And this was the matter Glaipnir sought Angel’s opinion on.

Meet me? Angel pondered for a moment, then looked at Glaipnir: ”Does he know who I am?”

Glaipnir shook her head: ”He doesn’t.”

”Then why is he so certain that the Crystal Origin of Dreams must have a creator?”

”He’s not sure. However, that doesn’t stop him from making guesses.”

Charles XIII was unaware of Angel’s existence, yet such a vast yet sparsely populated ”miniature garden” led him to associate it with the giant mirror kingdoms within the Daylight Mirror Domain: the Everstanding King City, Crystal Kingdom, Sumer Wetland Castle...and so on.

In his mind, this might be akin to those giant kingdoms, and such a ”miniature garden” surely has a creator, hence his desire to meet the so-called creator.

Simply put, his understanding was still limited.

He regarded the Crystal Origin of Dreams as a ”miniature garden,” rather than a world.

Although Angel himself hadn’t considered the Crystal Origin of Dreams as a world, the underlying operational logic, along with the diverse authorities representing laws, were all features of a world’s nascent configuration.

If Charles XIII saw the Crystal Origin of Dreams as a ”world,” he might not have thought of a creator.

”What do you think I should decide, should I meet Charles XIII?” Angel didn’t immediately respond but looked at Glaipnir.

It seemed Glaipnir had anticipated Angel’s counter-question and, without hesitation, said directly: ”My suggestion is... not to meet as the creator.”

”The creator, when not revealing themselves, is just an unattainable symbol. But once they appear, they might be pulled down from the altar, becoming a target of covetousness.”

”Charles XIII and I are old friends, although I know he likely wouldn’t covet the position of creator, he’s not someone who can keep a secret, and your identity might be spread around.”

”Unless you have a very noble status within the Mirror Domain, or one day, your strength is enough to overwhelm all visitors of the Crystal Origin of Dreams. Otherwise, I don’t recommend showing yourself as the creator.”

Listening to Glaipnir’s words, Angel, in a daze, seemed to see Sanders’ shadow.

Back then, when Sanders learned about the Wilderness of Dreams, he also advised Angel not to meet people as the creator because hearts change easily, and there is no end to greed.

Until Angel became an Official Wizard, gained status in the Research and Development Institute, and with the support of Lord Rhein and the Tree Spirit, did he have the confidence to reveal the existence of the Wilderness of Dreams.

But even so, they only tentatively set a disclosure time—the Tea Party.

They were still discussing the specific method of disclosure.

Also, whether to disclose it as the ”creator” or ”discoverer” was yet to be determined.

Therefore, if the Wilderness of Dreams is so, the Crystal Origin of Dreams requires even more caution.

Angel: ”But you came to me with the message, doesn’t that imply you know the creator exists?”

Glaipnir shook her head: ”I didn’t tell him that there is a creator of the Crystal Origin of Dreams. What I said is—I don’t know whether there is a creator, but I know there are people in the Crystal Origin of Dreams who wield similar laws, and there are quite a few; the door to the Crystal Origin of Dreams represents an embodiment of such laws, and my original form also wields this mysterious type of law.”

The implication of Glaipnir’s words was: there are many who possess authority, but those with authority are not necessarily the creators.

If Charles XIII suspected those with authority were the creator, then his first suspicion should be Laplace.

Of course, there was a careful consideration behind Glaipnir’s words.

Angel had promised to give Laplace authority, but as Luigi hadn’t left the instance for so long, Laplace’s authority remained pending.

Even though Glaipnir doesn’t think Angel will break his promise, given her personality, she still uses this method to subtly remind Angel not to forget about it.

After this period of acclimatization, Angel has a certain understanding of Glaipnir’s character and knows her little schemes.

Therefore, Angel doesn’t find Glaipnir’s subtle reminder inappropriate.

Moreover, Glaipnir has actually restrained herself a lot. If it were before, she would have been straightforward and sharp with her words; compared to now, you could say she’s changed significantly.

”Let’s do as you say then, I won’t meet him as the creator. However, many people in Rabbit Town have seen me, and if he asks about my identity, you can tell him I have mastered the Authority of the Gate of Dreams.”

In fact, without Glaipnir saying it, he hadn’t planned to meet Charles XIII.

His plan is to put Laplace and her Temporal Body into the position of agent for the Crystal Origin of Dreams... after all, the Crystal Origin of Dreams covers the range of the Daylight Mirror Domain, and the top transcendent beings there are aware of Laplace’s existence.

As long as they acknowledge Laplace, their resistance to the Crystal Origin of Dreams will be much reduced.

As for Angel himself, he won’t deliberately conceal it, but he definitely won’t flaunt himself publicly. Just like he will attend the multi-racial routine gathering and cooperate there to promote the Crystal Origin of Dreams, but he will only make an appearance there; it’s Laplace who will be at the forefront.

Glaipnir: ”Your choice is correct, trust me, this is actually for your protection.”

Angel smiled: ”If others wish to see me later, you can respond from my current standpoint.”

Glaipnir nodded: ”I understand.”

Glaipnir put on the log-in device and entered the Crystal Origin of Dreams; she wasn’t really going to pass a message to Charles XIII but planned to continue reorganizing Rabbit Town and keeping an eye on the situation over at the World Grinding Day.

Meanwhile, Luigi finally put down the sheet music in his hand.

”Today, I found quite a number of scores in Tooth Fairy Paradise and picked out the best ones,” Luigi said while pulling a stack of scores from the drawer and pointed to the sheet music at the top: ”This ’Evening Glow Fantasy’ is what I think is the best, but compared to the ’Nocturne of Fluttering Sparrows’ you sent, ’Evening Glow Fantasy’ still falls short.”

When Luigi said this, he was both sighing and showing a trace of regret.

Angel: ”As long as it can be used, no matter who found it, what’s there to regret?”

Luigi shook his head: ”This time, I’m definitely using ’Nocturne of Fluttering Sparrows,’ without a doubt; what I’m regretting is... my trip to Tooth Fairy Paradise was in vain. Furthermore, setting aside your channel, I currently don’t have any easy channels to find scores through.”

”No easy channels? Isn’t there still a channel?”

Luigi found scores at the Ancient Ruins of Tooth Fairy and Tooth Fairy Paradise without paying too high a price. For him, these counts as easy channels, but those paths are now blocked, and obtaining scores through other channels won’t be as easy.

Luigi sighed: ”I currently only have two channels; first is the previously mentioned multi-racial routine gathering.”

The multi-racial routine gathering opens the day after tomorrow and lasts for half a month. To find good scores there, Luigi not only needs luck but also needs to spend a lot of Crystalline, and he might not find them in the remaining days, so for him, this is a difficult path.

”The second channel, then, is the Hundred-Dragon Divine Kingdom.”

The always lazy Wolftooth Bone agreed to leave the Ancient Ruins of Tooth Fairy to go to the Hundred-Dragon Divine Kingdom precisely because there is a very vast library there.

Wolftooth Bone also loves music, and she stays in the library of the Hundred-Dragon Divine Kingdom without leaving, indicating there are definitely rare scores inside.

”However, getting into the Hundred-Dragon Divine Kingdom is somewhat troublesome,” Luigi pressed his temples: ”Ever since the mirror dragon cub was attacked and killed two thousand years ago, the Hundred-Dragon Divine Kingdom has been closed off to protect the cubs. Following the normal process, I must submit an application form, and only if it’s approved there can I enter. According to the layers of review in the Hundred-Dragon Divine Kingdom, by the time the application review is finished, it would be at least a month, by then, I’d be out of luck.”

Angel thought for a moment and said: ”Actually, you don’t necessarily have to enter the Hundred-Dragon Divine Kingdom yourself...”

”Since Wolftooth Bone is inside the Hundred-Dragon Divine Kingdom, and you have her contact staff, you could completely ask her to send you the scores from inside.”

Luigi shook his head: ”No, once inside the Hundred-Dragon Divine Kingdom, Wolftooth Bone signed an oath not to transmit any internal information, including knowledge.”

The closure of the Hundred-Dragon Divine Kingdom isn’t just about keeping the national gates closed; it also involves control over everything. In this situation, to view the Kingdom’s privately-held scores, Luigi has to go inside personally to see them.

”The formal approach certainly won’t work; if I want to quickly enter the Hundred-Dragon Divine Kingdom without going through the review, there’s only one way.”

”—Ask Glaipnir to plead on my behalf.”

Two thousand years ago, after the mirror dragon cub was attacked and killed, the Hundred-Dragon Divine Kingdom invited Glaipnir to divine the life and death of the mirror dragon cub.

Therefore, if Glaipnir helps plead, the Hundred-Dragon Divine Kingdom would still give face.

Angel: ”If the Hundred-Dragon Divine Kingdom would give face to Glaipnir, wouldn’t this channel be easy then?”

”Indeed not hard, but the main problem is whether it’s worth it.” Luigi: ”The mirror dragons in the Hundred-Dragon Divine Kingdom mostly have rigid personalities; they return favors, but they lack human interactions; it’s always one favor for another.”

Glaipnir helped the Hundred-Dragon Divine Kingdom in the past, and she can ask the Kingdom to help her, but this is an equal exchange, consuming Glaipnir’s favor.

Once this favor is expended, the Hundred-Dragon Divine Kingdom won’t extend courtesy to Glaipnir anymore.

Now, what Luigi is concerned with is: Is it worth consuming Glaipnir’s favor over a score?

After all, the score is just for challenging the Fairyland Duplication, which he stubbornly wants to conquer, yet has seen no benefit.

Using a favor just for this challenge is what Luigi is conflicted about.

After listening to Luigi’s words, Angel actually had thoughts... If it were him, he would consume the favor. Because the appearance of the Dreamseeing State indicated the unusual nature of the Uriel Dungeon. Clearing this kind of fairyland instance, which links with reality, would greatly help in analyzing Fairyland Authority.

However, it’s not Angel challenging the Uriel Dungeon, but Luigi.

From Luigi’s perspective, even knowing the Dreamseeing State’s peculiarity, he still doesn’t see the potential benefits the fairyland instance could bring.

Is expending a favor worth it?

Luigi scratched his hair and lightly sighed: ”Forget it, I’ll consider these issues later. If in the last two days, I still haven’t found a score to clear the Uriel Dungeon, then I’ll talk to Glaipnir.”

”For now, let’s practice ’Nocturne of Fluttering Sparrows’ for a while, and challenge later; perhaps this time it will succeed?”
