Chapter 3096: Chapter 3097: The Observer’s Request

After Angel and Laplace bid farewell, he located the Observer and prepared to meet him.

Although Angel could choose to talk to the Observer among the trees, he thought it would be more respectful to meet such a big figure in person.

After logging off and logging back in, Angel was now outside the Marine Theater in Originheart City.

According to the location, the Observer was currently inside the theater.

And the theater is Jon’s permanent place, did the Observer come here for Jon? But from a God’s View observation, Jon didn’t seem to have any contact with the Observer, the Observer was in the theater hall, while Jon was in the backstage office.

Angel was puzzled, but he couldn’t directly ask the Observer, so he took out his communicator and greeted the Observer.

Observer: ”You’re coming over? Sure, I’m at the Marine Theater in Originheart City, shall we meet at the theater?”

Angel replied ”Alright,” then waited at the theater entrance for about two minutes before entering. —— After all, the Observer didn’t know that Angel had a positioning ability, and Angel didn’t plan to let the Observer know.

Upon opening the theater doors, the interior was somewhat dim, only the wall lamps near the stage were lit, with the remaining light sources mainly from the starlight and moonlight spilling through the windows.

The stage was empty, with the only person sitting in the front row near the stage.

And that person was the Observer.

Angel walked up to the Observer, giving a slight bow under the other’s friendly smile.

”You’re here? Have a seat here.” The Observer said with a smile, ”I originally wanted to meet and chat with you too, but I saw among the trees that you seemed to be avoiding Sprout Sect followers, so you went to the ruins to hide, and I didn’t directly make an appointment with you.”

Angel: ... He was just dispatched for an alchemy task, and exploring The Garden Labyrinth ruins happened later, how did it turn into hiding in the ruins?

What kind of gossip was spreading among the trees?

Angel felt speechless but thought explaining these internal matters to the Observer seemed inappropriate, so he could only smile and say, ”I’ve already come out of the ruins, recently looking for a quiet room to settle down.”

As he spoke, under the Observer’s invitation, Angel sat beside the Observer.

The Observer didn’t ask where Angel was now, just smiled, ”Actually, you don’t need to worry too much about the followers of the Sprout Sect, they will give up if they can’t find you....”

After all, Angel hadn’t faced the Sprout Sect followers directly, so generally, they might come looking for him, but whether they found him or not, it didn’t really matter.

”Moreover, the followers of the Sprout Sect don’t dare stay in the Southern Domain for too long; they may at most preach among the mortals and then leave.”

Just preaching... that’s quite terrifying.

Once their so-called ”doctrines” spread, it would definitely be a terrifying disaster.

Irene wasn’t even a so-called Sprout Sect believer, just accidentally recited the ”doctrine” and then disappeared without a trace, showing the danger of the Sprout Sect.

Perhaps seeing Angel’s thoughts, the Observer lightly smiled: ”The misfortune of the Southern Domain lies in the Extreme Sect; but its fortune also lies in the Extreme Sect. With the strict prohibition policies they enforce, it’s unlikely the Sprout Sect’s preaching could continue, and I’ve heard that many Witcher Organizations have come together to purge potential preaching sites, suggesting that the Sprout Sect believers chose the wrong place to preach in the Southern Domain.”

Angel actually agreed with this point raised by the Observer.

The Extreme Sect would react with extreme aversion to anything imported from Otherworlds, even sect beliefs on a spiritual level.

”Why do you say the followers of the Sprout Sect won’t stay in the Southern Domain for long?” Angel asked in confusion.

Observer: ”The Southern Domain is not the real target for the Sprout Sect followers since the backing of all four corners of the Wizards’ Realm is quite complex; if by accident they mess with a Legendary Wizard’s kin residing in the Southern Domain, it would be a big problem for them. Even though those fanatics aren’t concerned about life and death, they naturally prefer to preach without obstacles.”

The implication was that preaching in the Wizards’ Realm doesn’t achieve good results for the Sprout Sect followers.

Better results would be in remote worlds.

”However, even if the Sprout Sect followers go to remote worlds or fringe planes to preach, they won’t stay long. Otherwise, they would certainly be targeted by the Civilization Watch Alliance.”

Angel: ”Civilization Watch Alliance?”

”It’s an organization in the Origin World that advocates for shared civilization and order... somewhat aligned with the Orderly Guild. In your Southern Domain’s terms, it’s the White Wizard faction.”

”It’s interesting that the Origin World has such an organization.” Angel muttered softly.

The Observer chuckled, ”In summary, while the Sprout Sect is indeed troublesome, it’s not a major hassle. At least, not for the Southern Domain.”

Angel nodded understandingly. However, he wasn’t too concerned with the Sprout Sect followers in the first place; the biggest danger of the sect lies within its ”doctrine,” as long as one doesn’t contemplate or recite it, there’s no issue.

”Did you call me here to discuss the matter of the Sprout Sect followers?”

The Observer shook his head, ”No, I have some doubts and want to ask you.”

... It’s coming. The Observer is definitely going to inquire about the Wilderness of Dreams.

Angel had already practiced his responses, so he wasn’t too nervous, just smiled calmly, ”Please, do ask. If it’s something I know and am permitted to say, I naturally won’t hide it.”

The Observer pondered for a while before voicing his doubts.

After hearing the Observer’s question, Angel was taken aback.

He initially thought the Observer would ask him something about the ”Wilderness of Dreams,” but it turned out the Observer’s questions were similar to the recent inquiries from others.

It was still revolving around ”Wilderness Traveler News.”

However, the Observer seemed more interested in the intelligence section of the supplement. In his remarks, there was a hint of inquiring about the intelligence sources.

This caught Angel off guard.

All the prepared statements were related to the Wilderness of Dreams, so how did it suddenly turn to the intelligence section?

”These pieces of intelligence were obtained by chance.” Angel said, ”I thought at the time, to create a template for an intelligence section for a budding newspaper, to be handed over to the Barbarian Cave’s intelligence agency for management. Although it was just a template, it had to contain some content, so I added some intelligence that I came across by chance. The authenticity of these pieces, even I can’t confirm.”

”They should all be true.” The Observer said slowly.

Angel: ”Ah?”

The intelligence he added was all extremely short-lived, did the Observer already go to verify them? It’s known that this intelligence came from the Void Travelers, spread across a boundless range, wasn’t the Observer crazy to go verify all that?

While Angel was puzzled, the Observer’s explanation provided the answer.

”I have a friend who happened to come from the Pure Water World, who is temporarily residing with me. I heard from him that there is indeed a void caravan from the Origin World near Pure Water World, consistent with your intelligence.”

”Also, I know the Observer of the Lofte World, coincidentally have her contact. Through some special means, I reached her, and she told me that indeed, in the void outside Lofte World, there exists an unseeable Blood Tree. This also matches your intelligence.”

”Although I haven’t verified all the intelligence, the two pieces I’ve randomly selected have been confirmed to be true, so I assume the others aren’t false either.”

Angel: ... I underestimated it.

He originally thought that by providing some high-end, unverified, and short-lived intelligence, he could rest easy.

Yet he forgot that there are Observers in the Wilderness of Dreams.

Although he didn’t know how the Observer contacted people from the distant Lofte World, the Observer, after all, was a Legendary Wizard, and his means were beyond Angel’s comprehension.

All that could be said was that things were too coincidental, and he was too careless.

Even though Angel had already acknowledged it in his heart, he still said with an exaggerated surprise, ”So this intelligence is true?”

Observer: ”Your acting... is rather dry.”

Angel smiled awkwardly, unsure of how to respond.

The Observer looked at Angel’s expression and pondered for a moment, ”It seems you have your own difficulties... Is the source of the intelligence very special?”

Angel lowered his head, ”Sort of.”

”Is it related to that side?”

Angel was stunned for a moment: that side... which side?

The Observer noticed Angel’s confusion and coughed twice, ”I mean that side, the Dalmatian...”

Upon hearing the Observer’s ”hint,” Angel quickly understood.

When he first met the Observer, he had encountered the Dalmatian, and the Observer seemed to have guessed something about the Dalmatian’s origin—not the origin of the Dalmatian itself, but that the Dalmatian was a creature from the Nightmare Realm.

Thinking about it, the place the Observer referred to should indeed be the Nightmare Realm.

Did the Observer mistakenly believe his information came from the Nightmare Realm?

Angel pondered and with a somewhat vague tone said, ”The source of the intelligence does have some connection to the Dalmatian...”

This statement wasn’t false either. From the clue chain perspective, the intelligence source had a direct connection to Wang Wang; but with the Dalmatian, it was an indirect connection.

After all, the ”Void communication information” Angel obtained was mistakenly transmitted by Wang Wang, intended for the Dalmatian, but mistakenly given to him, establishing a certain connection with the Dalmatian.

The Observer could discern that Angel’s tone was somewhat evasive, but he happened to appreciate this approach.

Could matters related to Nightmare Realm creatures be openly discussed? Certainly not!

Among Nightmare Realm creatures, there are many Legendary Level existences, so casually mentioning them might just catch their attention. Besides, the Observer had personally seen that Dalmatian; even the one from Phantom Spirit City had suffered greatly, showing the deep and unfathomable strength.

How dare one speak lightly?

Thus, the OBSERVER quickly understood that if it is related to the Dalmatian, he comprehends Angel’s position and his difficulties, concluding that the matter indeed isn’t easy to discuss.

With this realization, the Observer shifted his tone and smiled, ”Since that’s the case, there’s no need to explain further; I understand your predicament.”

Angel: ... What predicament do I have?

The Observer continued, ”However, I still have one question I want to ask you.”

Angel: ”Please speak, sir.”

The Observer hesitated for a moment, ”Do you have a way to continue obtaining intelligence?”

Angel was about to say ”no,” but seeing the Observer’s complex expression, he thought for a moment and asked, ”Does sir wish to know some specific intelligence?”

This time, the Observer fell silent for a long time before nodding, ”Yes, if possible, I would like to know more intelligence related to Lofte World.”

”Because of your friend over there?” Angel remembered the Observer previously mentioning knowing someone from Lofte World, using a female pronoun in the Universal Language.

Similar to the Chinese ”she.”

So, the Observer from Lofte World is a female? The Observer’s concern for a female friend sparked Angel’s curiosity and conjecture.

Observer: ”Yes, she is called Bai Niao, an old... friend of mine.”

The Observer pondered for a moment, deciding not to conceal things from Angel, explaining his situation and Bai Niao’s circumstances.

”Since arriving in the Southern Domain, I’ve rarely focused on matters of the Origin World, only recently learning that Bai Niao went to Lofte World.”

”If she went to other worlds as an Observer, I wouldn’t be too concerned. But Lofte World is too unique.”

Angel: ”Is Lofte World very special?”

Angel had heard of Lofte World, knowing it’s a chaotic world where the Transcendent is hidden, but Evil Gods abound.

From that alone, it doesn’t seem particularly special?

Observer: ”Yes, Lofte World is exceptionally special, though I can’t specify the details; however, I can tell you that in the Origin World, even Miracle Wizards rarely interfere in Lofte World’s matters, indicative of how special its existence is.”

Miracle Wizards rarely interfere? Angel was startled, having never heard of this before.

”Does Lofte World harbor miracles?”

In Angel’s view, only miracles could compare to miracles.

However, the Observer shook his head, ”That, I do not know. It might not be fear, but rather that the situation there is very troublesome; troublesome enough that even Miracle Wizards are reluctant to intervene.”

Angel nodded thoughtfully.

The Observer continued, ”Precisely because of Lofte World’s uniqueness, even though Bai Niao is already a Legendary Wizard, she might still face danger there.”

”As the Observer for the Southern Domain, I cannot leave, nor can I monitor Bai Niao’s situation over there. So, if you have channels, I hope you can pay more attention to intelligence concerning Lofte World for me.”

Angel roughly understood the Observer’s meaning, which was to care for an old friend. Moreover, the tone indicated this old friend was someone special, possibly not just an old friend, but also... an old lover.

That’s why the Observer showed such concern.

However, Angel was somewhat puzzled: ”Shouldn’t sir also have a way to contact her?”

He remembered the Observer mentioning earlier that he had contacted Bai Niao, and Bai Niao confirmed the situation with the Blood Tree.

Observer: ”To communicate over space-time distance with Bai Niao requires a special communication device, and this device has a duration. Once a certain energy within it dissipates, communication becomes impossible, and my communication device now lacks that energy, requiring replenishment next time I return to the Orderly Guild.”

This means the Observer can no longer directly communicate with Bai Niao.

Precisely for this reason, he thought of Angel’s intelligence network.
