Chapter 3078: Chapter 3079: Awakening

”If that’s indeed the case, it is quite strange.” Dox mulled over this for a while but couldn’t figure out what was happening.

He glanced at Angel and noticed that Angel was also puzzled. So, he said, ”But then again, can this problem be solved by Angel? Or do you think Augustine will descend again because of Adanis?”

Although there is an anchor point left by Augustine on Angel, as Augustine himself said, Angel can only be sensed when he enters the Noah tribe’s land containing traces of Augustine’s energy.

But now, they’re obviously not in the Noah tribe’s land, how could they summon Augustine?

The Black Earl did not answer, but Angel spoke up at this moment: ”The one that the Earl truly wants to find should not be me, but Olao.”

In Angel’s view, the ones who can solve the current situation are Olao and Laplace.

The Black Earl did not know that Angel could contact Laplace, so from his perspective, he could only think of Olao.

Actually, Olao is indeed the best solution. After all, he has been with Adanis for millennia and understands Adanis’s condition the best.

The Black Earl nodded: ”Yes, I indeed want to meet Olao through you.”

Angel pondered, ”Olao has been inside the Mirror Box all this time without any movement. I’m not sure if he has awakened yet. But, I can check for the Earl.”

Angel did not refuse to help, or rather, his assistance was not only for the Black Earl but also for Olao.

Although Olao chose to follow Angel, Angel is well aware that Olao currently views him as a collaborator rather than a master.

Compared to Angel, Olao cares more about Adanis.

Even though Adanis does not intend to follow Olao due to ”personal reasons,” it does not hinder Olao’s care for Adanis. If Olao knew Adanis had a problem and Angel neither informed him nor helped, this would undoubtedly create a rift in their collaboration.

Therefore, after learning about the situation, Angel would inevitably help.

Next, Angel took the Mirror Box of Flowing Light out from the space directly in front of everyone.

The Mirror Box of Flowing Light was given to Angel by Adanis.

At that time, in the Qingkong Poetry Room, Olao was released from the contract by Augustine and fell into a slumber. To help Olao recover better, Adanis handed the mirror box to Angel.

Holding the mirror box, Angel’s mind was racing.

According to Augustine’s words, Olao should be in a coma for about half a day to a day. Now, it has actually exceeded the time limit stated by Augustine, and logically, Olao should have awakened.

But why hasn’t he sensed any movement from the mirror box?

Could it be that Olao, like Adanis, also has problems?

Filled with doubts, Angel opened the lid of the mirror box, and as the lid was lifted, everyone saw the familiar bronze mirror.

This is exactly the entity they had seen before in the Qingkong Poetry Room, Olao’s true form.

Angel reached out, intending to take the bronze mirror out, but just as his hand was about to touch the bronze mirror, it suddenly transformed into a stream of flowing light, emerging from the box.

Immediately after, this vibrant stream of light, under everyone’s gaze, gradually coalesced into a figure approximately two meters tall.

A man in a black evening suit appeared, adorned with a hat bound by a black and white ribbon, and a head of silver hair that nearly reached his waist.

The most striking feature was his skin. His skin had the reflective finish akin to mercury, looking less like a human and more like a humanoid walking mirror.

Undoubtedly, this is Olao.

The hat he wore matched precisely with the emblem seen on the Mirror Demon God, though his appearance had undergone transformation.

It must be Augustine lifting the contract on Olao that revealed his true form.

After appearing from the mirror box, Olao’s expression was slightly bewildered. He looked around the environment, realizing it was no longer the Qingkong Poetry Room, a faint gloom flashed in his eyes.

Olao paused a moment, directing his gaze at Angel: ”Lord Angel, have we left the Qingkong Poetry Room?”

Angel nodded.

Olao hesitated for a moment: ”Then... my master...”

Angel: ”Augustine has already left.”

Though Olao anticipated this outcome, his expression was still quite downcast.

Angel: ”As long as the footsteps do not halt, the future will eventually bring encounters.”

Olao froze for a moment, a glimmer of light slowly reappearing in his dim eyes. However, soon he seemed to recall something, turning to face Angel with a hint of apology.

”Lord Angel, I was just feeling a bit bittersweet, not...” disrespecting you.

Angel waved it off, unconcerned: ”No matter, I actually feel the regret as well; Augustine left too early. If possible, I would like to meet him again.”

Angel had little confidence in cultivating Olao into the level of his brother ”Adigu,” that type of Twinborn Mirror. And Augustine is the first mysterious alchemist Angel has seen firsthand, undoubtedly having reached the pinnacle of miracles. If he could meet him again, Angel would definitely seize the opportunity to seek guidance.

Thus, though Olao’s objectives differ, their ultimate goal aligns: Olao desires to meet his master, and Angel equally wishes to learn from Augustine.

As for Olao keeping his heart with Augustine... This is not of concern to Angel.

Angel currently views Olao as a collaborator; he values the unique entity, Margaret Gold, that is Olao’s true form.

As long as Olao is willing to cooperate, what he thinks internally doesn’t matter to Angel at the moment.

Upon hearing Angel’s words, gratitude flashed in Olao’s eyes: ”Lord Angel...”

Angel: ”Just call me by my name, drop the suffix.”

After a pause, Angel scrutinized Olao: ”Can you change your reflective silver skin?”

At this point, Dox also voiced agreement: ”Yes, standing under the light, you’re practically a dazzling ball ready to blind everyone’s eyes.”

Dox’s words were indeed exaggerations. Blinding was a bit much.

Nevertheless, Olao’s designation as a ”humanoid walking mirror” is not falsely attributed. Facing Olao, you don’t see the other person but rather your own face... and it is distorted like viewing yourself in a funhouse mirror.

Seeing your own face on someone else’s skin—it is a rather challenging experience.

Olao seemed to notice their troubles as well, bashfully saying, ”I just got used to this form; I’m not sure if I can change it. Give me a moment to think.”

After speaking, Olao fell into a state of contemplation.

About half a minute later, Olao woke up from his thoughts, stretched out his hand, and took out his true body—a bronze mirror—from his chest, reflecting it towards Dox in front of him.

Soon, Olao’s figure began to distort and transform.

A few seconds later, Olao transformed directly from a three-meter-tall humanoid walking mirror into... Dox.

From the face, to the trench coat, the red sword, and even the short red hair, they all looked exactly like Dox, even carrying the same unique blood surge aura.

Had Olao not changed in front of everyone, they might not have been able to distinguish who was Dox and who was Olao.

”Is this your ability?” The Black Earl looked at Olao in surprise.

Olao scratched his head: ”It should... be, I guess. My power was just unsealed, and I haven’t explored many abilities yet. I just thought for a long time and realized I could mimic others through mirror simulation, which allows me to change the skin color!”

The moment Olao spoke, the differences between him and Dox became obvious. His demeanor, gaze, and tone were entirely different from Dox.

At least, Dox has never looked this gentle.

”Hey, don’t turn into me. If you get into some flirtatious troubles outside looking like me, that won’t be good?” Dox protested discontentedly.

Angel: ”...Do normal people think of flirtatious troubles right away? Or have you perhaps used someone else’s face to cause similar troubles, which is why that’s your first reaction...”

Dox’s gaze flickered for a moment: ”Don’t make baseless accusations, I haven’t done that. And don’t change the subject, Olao turned into me, so of course, I feel uncomfortable. Why don’t you let him turn into you?”

Angel snorted lightly, ignoring Dox, and turned to look at Olao: ”Can’t you directly change your appearance?”

Olao, troubled, pinched his hair: ”There should be a way, but I need to study my abilities more.”

Angel thought for a moment and snapped his fingers, a canvas and a color palette appeared in front of him.

Under the puzzled gazes of everyone, Angel quickly mixed a jade-white with a touch of pink color from the palette.

Angel painted this color across the entire canvas and said to Olao, ”Try to change this color to the skin tone of your original appearance.”

Without hesitation, Olao returned to his humanoid walking mirror form, taking out the bronze mirror from his chest and reflecting the color on the canvas.

The next second, Olao’s mercury-like skin changed to the jade-white with a touch of pink from the canvas.

With the change in skin color, Olao’s whole temperament also changed.

At least in the eyes of the crowd, Olao now looked like a gentle young man. Much better than the embarrassing funhouse mirror reflection from earlier.

Olao also examined his skin, surprise flitting across his eyes: ”So it can be done this way... can hair change too?”

As Olao spoke, he looked at Angel with hopeful eyes: ”Mr. Angel...”

Angel coughed softly.

Olao: ”Mr. Angel... sir, may I borrow this canvas?”

Angel nodded: ”Sure.”

Olao excitedly took the pen and palette, and then he began mixing various colors on the palette. Soon, Olao blended a fluorescent green.

The next second, Olao’s long silver-white hair transformed into an eye-catching fluorescent green.

”It indeed can!” Olao’s eyes shone as he continued blending colors.

Not long after, Olao’s hair became a kaleidoscope of colors, leaving everyone speechless. Was he treating his hair as a dyeing experiment?

Previously, they thought Olao seemed like a sentimental gentle youth. Now, he looked a bit... childish?

”There are many ways to blend colors; if you’re interested, I can find someone to teach you later.”

Angel said, feeling that if he didn’t stop Olao, he would keep blending colors... Even though seeing Olao get joy merely from blending colors was good, doing it in the Black Earl’s room felt improper.

Olao wasn’t oblivious; he was simply captivated by the novelty of blending colors, something he hadn’t encountered before.

Hearing Angel’s words and seeing his signaling gaze, Olao quickly regained his composure.

Olao swiftly dyed his hair black—the color it was when he was bound by contracts.

After finishing the color blending, Olao returned the color palette and canvas to Angel with a slight trace of embarrassment.

Once Angel had put away the unnecessary tools, under the Black Earl’s indication, he said, ”I called you out this time because it seems Adanis has a little problem...”

”Adanis?” Olao’s previously relaxed demeanor turned serious immediately: ”What’s wrong? Was she attacked by creatures from the Mirror Domain?”

Angel shook his head, pointing to a painting on the wall, signaling Olao to look at it.

As Olao gazed at the painting, the Black Earl explained the situation he discovered.

Olao’s expression remained worried, but after listening to the Black Earl, it turned somewhat peculiar.

As everyone watched in confusion, Olao approached, stretching out a hand to sense for a moment, then sighed with relief, showing an ’as expected’ expression.

”Is she alright?” Angel asked softly.

Olao smiled: ”No worries, she’s just asleep. She’ll be fine after some time.”

”So it’s just sleep?” Dox muttered, casting a suspicious glance at Olao: ”When you were asleep, things were lively around her; now that you’re awake, she goes to sleep. Could you two be isotopes? You representing the night, and she the day?”

Olao asked puzzledly: ”Isotopes?”

Angel: ”Don’t mind him, there are barely any normally spoken words in his mouth.”

Although still a bit confused, Olao chose not to delve further.

”Is such a state of sleep common for Adanis?” the Black Earl inquired.

Olao: ”Pretty much. Her sleep frequency has increased significantly over the past millennium. However, since the Master says she’s alright, there’s no need to worry too much.”

Master? Augustine? The Black Earl suddenly thought of something and hurriedly asked, ”Is her sleep caused by the ’missing part’ the ancestor mentioned?”
