Chapter 3091: Chapter 3092: True or False Intelligence

Putting aside the future value of the Wilderness Traveler News, the Observer finds its content quite good in itself.

For instance, the main publication Civilization Confrontation provided him with insights into the native civilization of the Wilderness of Dreams.

He had seen Dream Plant Fairies and had briefly studied their ecology, thinking they were similar to Flower Demons, belonging to the Elves. But after reading Civilization Confrontation, he realized that Dream Plant Fairies have distinctions, and amazingly, all the vegetation in the Wilderness of Dreams is connected to the Dream Plant Fairies and the Mother Tree.

This is truly a massive native civilization, while they, the humans, are actually the invaders.

After reading the main publication, the Observer couldn’t help but recall how during the Frostmoon Alliance’s initiation of Southern Domain Conquest, the first world they went to was the Senluo Plane—a world once dominated by natural fairies, which was eventually invaded and ruled by humans, resulting in the extinction of Senluo’s civilization and fairies.

Later, perhaps out of guilt, or maybe due to the organization behind the Frostmoon Alliance, a reflective long article was published by the Frostmoon Alliance, summarizing the erroneous actions of the first Conquest, and expressing a new concept of civilization contact: destruction is not the only option.

After that, the Frostmoon Alliance’s Conquests rarely involved the elimination of civilizations. Even when a civilization was conquered, a path for survival was left.

Now, the Civilization Confrontation written by Angel, although not explicitly expressing his viewpoint, essentially conveys a similar meaning.

Wizard Civilization and Tree Civilization being enemy to each other is not a good thing.

On this point, the Observer agrees.

The Civilization Watch Alliance in the Origin World holds a similar proposal. Although there are dissenters within the Origin World, even dissenters have to admit that from a profit standpoint, destroying other civilizations is definitely not the best path.

The main publication furthered the Observer’s understanding of the native civilization in the Wilderness of Dreams, which is beneficial both to him and to other humans in the Wilderness of Dreams.

As for the secondary publication, the Observer also finds it quite good.

Whether it is introducing human geography or publishing academic content, there is a certain value to it.

The only downside is that the sections of the secondary publication are fewer compared to other authoritative magazines, lacking in content and form.

However, this can be improved. After all, it’s only the first issue of the Wilderness Traveler News, and the only editor is Angel; this volume is acceptable.

As more editors and contributors come along, this shortcoming will naturally be solved.

That being said, the secondary publication overall is good, but the third part of it took the Observer by surprise.

—Intelligence.

Angel including an intelligence section was unexpected to him.

Angel’s intentions in launching this newspaper are already clear: to leverage platform advantages, and the new era wave brought by the Wilderness of Dreams, to establish an authoritative magazine.

Authority can be achieved through various methods, but taking the intelligence route is not only a fast move but also a risky one.

Because intelligence is different from gossip; gossip can be adorned and its truth or falsehood is just for amusement; with intelligence, a single mistake could cause it to fall from grace.

Thus, to build an authoritative magazine through intelligence, the authenticity of the intelligence must be guaranteed.

Can Angel ensure that every piece of intelligence is true? That every piece has value? That he won’t be caught with triviality and defamed as gossip?

If any link in this chain has a mishap, authority will fall from the altar.

Therefore, the Observer is truly surprised that Angel would create this intelligence column.

However, after reading the intelligence information, he suddenly realized... Angel is taking a step into chaos.

All the intelligence is related to the ”distant” Void, and all of it is very time-sensitive intelligence.

Given the Southern Domain Wizards’ grasp on the temporal distance of the Void, it is extremely difficult to verify the authenticity of these distant intelligence reports.

Yet, solely based on the intelligence itself, one has to admit that the intelligence is very high-end...

Angel is taking this chaotic step; he deliberately inserted some time-sensitive unverifiable false intelligence to fill Wilderness Traveler News.

Or is it an experiment?

Anyway, the Wilderness Traveler News hasn’t been publicly released yet; is it through various experiments to determine how to create an authoritative magazine?

Understanding this point, the Observer can’t help but chuckle inwardly: Angel’s move is quite cunning.

Indeed, the Observer is now convinced that the intelligence released by Angel is fake!

Because he doesn’t believe Angel can gather intelligence from the distant Void.

Perhaps Angel can get some stories from Wizards who have just returned from the Void, but these stories would inevitably be outdated and old.

Angel surely cannot obtain intelligence with such short time sensitivity.

It’s known in the Origin World that Void intelligence is sold, and the cost for such time-sensitive intelligence is extensive, with many Wizards on standby for it.

This type of intelligence is sold at extremely high prices; some intelligence prices make even Legendary Wizards cringe.

Therefore, this large batch of time-sensitive intelligence from Angel necessarily lacks authenticity.

However, although he is already certain the intelligence is false, he still decides to verify it.

The effort to confirm the intelligence’s authenticity isn’t much, as he just happens to have a very good object for verification.

Thinking of this, the Observer went offline.

...

In a spatial interlayer somewhere in the Southern Domain, a black-scaled bird was hovering, flapping its wings.

This bird had distinct characteristics: a hairless back covered with shiny black scales, while beneath was a hairless, scaleless, plump, and tender white belly. Its mouth slightly resembled a pelican, with the lower beak shell connected to the skin, forming a large pouch.

On the bird’s back, a white-haired old man was dozing with his eyes closed.

He was originally in a sitting position, but suddenly stretched and shifted from sitting to standing.

His shut eyes opened, revealing extraordinary pupils that could twist the surrounding space.

Undoubtedly, this person was none other than the Observer sent by the Orderly Guild to the Southern Domain.

”The feeling of going online and offline in the Wilderness of Dreams is really akin to sleeping. Could the Wilderness of Dreams genuinely relate to the Dream Realm?” murmured the Observer.

He didn’t continue to ponder, as mere thought made it difficult to find the truth; later, he would go back online to travel the Wilderness of Dreams and uncover this mystery.

But at the moment, he had other matters to attend to.

The Observer gently tapped his toes, his body floating into the air. With a loop, he came in front of the bird’s head.

Seeing the Observer appear before it, the bird’s eyes flashed with a spirit-filled glow, joy pouring forth and making it clear this bird had a high level of intelligence.

”Old buddy, has the freeloading guy come out yet?”

Upon hearing the Observer’s voice, the bird’s belly puffed up and made a gurgling sound. A few seconds later, the bird nodded to the Observer: ”Didn’t come out just now, but now it’s out.”

”Nicely done!” The Observer rubbed the bird’s head kindly and then said, ”Come, let me inside to talk with him for a bit.”

The bird obediently nodded and opened its mouth, just large enough to let the Observer enter.

The Observer directly stepped onto the pouch on the bird’s beak, accompanied by a slippery sensation, he slid into the bird’s white and tender belly.

With the disappearance of the Observer, the bird also closed its mouth, continuing to flap its wings gently, gliding slowly in the gap of space.

Meanwhile, the Observer, sitting on the pouch ”slide,” directly slid into a huge space.

The bird’s belly is also an artificial space, spacious inside. Even placing a castle here wouldn’t be an issue.

Moreover, after modification, there’s no discomfort for people here; copper walls and iron walls above still have lamps hanging to light up the interior brightly.

This space is the Observer’s abode, with zones for observation, living, and experimentation.

However, at this moment, the living area is already occupied by Camilleon’s pile of biological materials, and the lab is also ”forcibly occupied” by Camilleon himself.

Yet the observation zone, equipped with mysterious inspection equipment from the Orderly Guild, has quite substantial radiation, which fortunately hasn’t caught Camilleon’s eye, thus avoiding calamity.

Because of Camilleon’s occupying behavior, leaving the Observer no choice but to nap outside on the bird’s back when trying to log into the Wilderness of Dreams.

The Observer was wallowing in self-pity over his circumstances when the distant laboratory door split open from both sides, revealing a robust three-meter man with a full beard and demonic horns on his head, storming out.

He was ready to go after that annoying smelly bird, but upon exiting, spotted the Observer, his eyes immediately flashing with enlightenment.

”It was you, certainly you!” The bearded man rushed to Observer’s front: ”You made that smelly bird screech endlessly in my ears, didn’t you?”

The Observer put on a dismissive face: ”No, I simply asked it if you’ve exited the laboratory. It said you hadn’t earlier, but now you have... so I came in to take a look.”

The bearded man raged: ”I was writing an academic report! It forced me out!”

The Observer looked innocent: ”Did it interrupt you? Oh dear, so naughty. I’ll discipline it later.”

”Discipline?” The bearded man sneered: ”Punish it by eating three hundred pounds of dried fish? Or drinking a hundred barrels of fruit juice?”

The Observer blinked: ”Either is fine.”

The bearded man’s eyes bulged in fury: ”You!”

Enraged aura swirled around him, but upon seeing the Observer’s smug expression, he realized the other was just trying to annoy him—the angrier he got, the happier the Observer was.

This fellow was indeed building his joy upon others’ suffering.

With this realization, the bearded man forced himself to calm down: ”Tell me, why are you suddenly here?”

Observer: ”This is my turf, do I need to report my arrival to you?”

Bearded man bared his teeth: ”I’m asking, what do you want with me?”

Observer: ”Nothing much, simply felt like chatting with you.”

”Chat? Are you saying that genuinely?”

”Of course, I am.”

The bearded man furrowed his brows: ”Not interested, my academic report isn’t written yet. Let’s talk once I’m done.”

”Academic report?” Observer: ”Knowing you, the report must incorporate all those biological materials from the living area. With the sheer volume of materials, pushing ahead means you can’t finish in under three to four years, are you planning to linger here for three to four years?”

The bearded man was indeed the Observer’s old friend—Camilleon.

Camilleon hails from the Superstar Organization Nuke Academy, the backbone of Nuke Academy’s doctrine of everything. This doctrine focuses on researching all things. Camilleon found his way here due to the near-extinction events in more than twenty worlds within the North Cross.

He needs to visit these worlds within a year and conduct in-depth research and protection before they go extinct.

Thus, Camilleon’s talk of finishing the academic report before chatting is implausible.

He’s likely to linger here for a few days before rushing to the North Cross District; his report demands at least three years, by then he’s certainly gone.

Camilleon sighed helplessly: ”So, what do you want to talk about? As an old friend, I can spare you a day.”

Observer: ”No need for a day, just a few minutes will do.”

After a pause, the Observer continued: ”Just want to ask you a question. Before arriving at the Southern Domain Wizards’ Realm, did you travel via the White Border Line?”

Camilleon nodded: ”Indeed, without traveling the White Border Line, I would be at least a year late in arriving.”

The White Border Line enables Camilleon to swiftly traverse spacetime, taking ten days to cover a year’s distance.

Observer: ”The nearest world to the White Border Line is the Pure Water World; you must have passed it on your way?”

Camilleon: ”Yes, what’s this? Do you have an old flame in Pure Water World?”

The Observer disregarded Camilleon’s nonsense, continuing: ”Are there Void caravans near Pure Water World?”

”Planning to buy goods from Void caravans?”

The Observer retorted irritably: ”Why do you care so much; I’m merely asking if there are caravans nearby.”

Without hesitation, Camilleon nodded: ”Of course there are. The biological materials I brought back were purchased from a Void caravan near Pure Water World. Didn’t I mention this before?”

Observer: ”...No.”

Camilleon paused: ”Didn’t say? Didn’t really say? Then... how did you know about the news of the Locke Trade Group?”

Locke Trade Group, the Observer isn’t unfamiliar with this Void caravan; it hails from the Origin World.

Angel’s intelligence, once again proving accurate.

The Observer fell silent momentarily: ”Forget where I learned it... By the way, aren’t you heading to the North Cross Region next? I received some potentially uncertain intel recently. It’s said a blood tree incapable of being looked at directly has emerged in the dark domain outside of Lofte World, extremely dangerous. If you’re heading through the North Cross Region, I advise you to take a detour, avoiding the area outside of Lofte World’s void.”
