Chapter 3094: Chapter 3095: Housing Plan

While the Observer and Camilleon were discussing the ”Wilderness Traveler News,” the newspaper’s founder, Angel, was sitting face to face with Laplace on a fishing boat.

”You...” Laplace looked at Angel, who suddenly appeared before him, and after a long silence, he said, ”Are you here to see me make a fool of myself?”

”Ah?” Angel was taken aback, not immediately grasping the meaning behind Laplace’s words.

It wasn’t until he glanced at the thick stack of the Book of Fishing next to him and the empty fish basket that he seemed to understand a bit.

”Is this book useless?”

”Not that it’s useless; it’s just strange. No matter how I try, I can’t catch anything.” Laplace frowned, ”Could it be that my luck is just that bad?”

”Maybe?” Angel wasn’t very knowledgeable about fishing, so he just chimed in casually.

Laplace calmed himself, set the fishing rod aside, and silently looked at Angel.

Angel: ”You’re not fishing anymore?”

Laplace said casually, ”The book says that you need to keep quiet when fishing. If someone’s nearby, it disrupts the fisher’s mood and scares away the fish beneath the water.”

”Since I can’t catch any fish because of you, I might as well stop for now. Later, I’ll find another suitable spot for fishing according to the book’s instructions.”

Angel: ”...”

He had just arrived, and somehow the blame for not catching fish for dozens of hours was shifted onto him? That was a very straightforward accusation!

Moreover, he hadn’t made much noise, let alone shouted. Since water is denser than air, whether the fish could even hear him was questionable.

Angel felt a bit helpless, but his face still showed an apologetic expression, as if saying, ”It’s my fault.”

Laplace, perhaps feeling it wasn’t right to ”slander” Angel like this, gently shifted his gaze and looked at the ripples on the distant water, saying, ”You came to find me, could it be that Luigi has cracked that instance?”

”Luigi hasn’t attempted to crack it yet; he’s still continuing with the Sea of Questions Tactic.”

After a pause, Angel said, ”I came to find you mainly to discuss the issue of settling the Indigenous People.”

Charles Palace brought the first batch of Indigenous People to the Crystal Origin of Dreams, and given the scale that Charles Palace can influence, these Indigenous People will continue to grow in number.

Where to settle them and how to settle them became an issue.

If it were in the Wilderness of Dreams, Angel could easily find an ordinary city in reality, use the Dream Conch to enshroud it, and a new gathering area would appear in the Wilderness of Dreams.

But such a method doesn’t apply to the Crystal Origin of Dreams.

In the ”city” Angel saw in the Daylight Mirror Domain, extraordinary creatures were everywhere. Using the Dream Conch in front of them was definitely not a good choice.

So, Angel could only turn to Laplace for help; perhaps Laplace knew of any uninhabited towns in the Mirror Domain?

After hearing Angel’s explanation, Laplace pondered for a moment and then said, ”I have indeed seen many empty cities in the Mirror Domain, but these empty cities don’t stay empty for long; soon they become paradises for Mirror Ghosts.”

”Once a Mirror Ghost settles in an empty city, it doesn’t take long for the city to become ghostified, transforming into a ghost city.”

Ghostification doesn’t mean the city turns into a ghost, but that it’s captured by a Ghost Phantom.

In every Mirror World, there are Ghost Phantoms, varying in size. Generally, Ghost Phantoms and ordinary Mirror Domains overlap rather than directly connect. But once a city becomes ghostified, the internal space of the city starts to become chaotic, making it possible to connect to a Ghost Phantom through the ghost city.

”Some Mirror Ghosts are experts in concealment; even I might not be able to discover them. So, many places that appear to be empty cities may already have Mirror Ghosts entrenched in them.”

In simple terms, directly dragging the city into the Crystal Origin of Dreams presents a high risk.

However, this is just Laplace’s viewpoint.

In Angel’s view, the Dream Conch can’t pull living beings. If he uses the Dream Conch from afar to draw the empty city into the Crystal Origin of Dreams, even if there are Mirror Ghosts inside, they might at most detect the mysterious aura, which shouldn’t affect the city itself.

Compared to using the Dream Conch in other cities filled with Mirror World creatures, the potential aftermath is much smaller.

That’s the idea, but Angel didn’t voice these thoughts.

The main concern is that ghost cities are tainted by the rules of the Ghost Phantom, which are notoriously bizarre and fraught with danger and instant death risks. If a ghost city were remodeled by such rules—like doors becoming ”death upon opening”—would dragging it into the Crystal Origin of Dreams bring such abnormalities along?

Would the rules of the Ghost Phantom conflict with the newborn Crystal Origin of Dreams?

Of course, these problems might not actually occur. But to be on the safe side, Angel decided to avoid ghost cities for now.

Laplace: ”Setting aside these empty cities, if you’re looking in the Mirror Domain for large-scale, unowned building clusters, there’s basically none.”

Angel: ”So you’re saying that directly borrowing cities from the Mirror Domain won’t work?”

Laplace nodded: ”You don’t necessarily have to always replicate reality; you could try taking different approaches.”

Angel looked at Laplace, waiting for her explanation.

”For instance, you could directly replicate the New City model and build a city in the Crystal Origin of Dreams.”

Angel shook his head: ”That’s too troublesome, and there might not be relevant talents.”

Most importantly, the construction of the New City used a large number of Magic Rune Scrolls. While Angel could bring Magic Rune Scrolls to the Crystal Origin of Dreams, who would use them?

The Indigenous People from Charles Palace?

That’s clearly not feasible.

Of course, if there’s an opportunity in the future, Angel might consider bringing some people from the Wizards’ Realm over to build a city, but that’s a matter for the future.

At present, it’s just a matter of creating a place for some Indigenous People and native creatures of the Crystal Origin of Dreams to gather, live, and communicate. There’s no need to go to great lengths.

”If not considering the New City model, I have two suggestions. The first is to quickly build a gathering place in the Mirror Domain, then use the Dream Conch to draw it into the Crystal Origin of Dreams.”

They might not be able to quickly build towns in the Crystal Origin of Dreams, but in reality, with their abilities, they might not be able to construct a fully functional large city, but building a small village wouldn’t take much time.

After all, there aren’t many people in the Crystal Origin of Dreams right now; a village would suffice.

Angel didn’t immediately provide an answer, instead asking, ”What’s the second suggestion?”

”The second suggestion is to have them temporarily reside in my Forest of Memories. Although most of it consists of my Temporal Body Crystals, I’ve created living spaces for each one. Those places can be used for temporary residence.”

Ever since the Forest of Memories was suppressed by the authority of Wonderland of Dreams, it has reverted to its bonsai form, placed near Crystal Mountain. If the interior of the Forest of Memories truly has living spaces as Laplace described, it could indeed be an option.

However, in Angel’s view, with so much expansive area in the Crystal Origin of Dreams, squeezing the Indigenous People into a small bonsai feels like an underutilization.

Laplace saw Angel pondering in silence and asked, ”What about you? What are your thoughts now?”

Angel pondered for a moment and said, ”Although we can build a settlement in the Mirror Domain and then pull it into the Crystal Origin of Dreams; but this is not a long-term solution... including the temporary stay in the Forest of Memories, it is also not a long-term solution.”

Laplace: ”Are you looking for a once-and-for-all solution?”

Angel nodded.

Laplace: ”If you want a once-and-for-all solution, you can only start from the Indigenous People or from the Crystal Origin of Dreams itself. Either make the Indigenous People self-reliant and build their living places themselves; or find a way to leverage the existing authority of the Crystal Origin to find a place for them to live.”

At this point, Laplace suddenly said, ”Actually, I think letting the Indigenous People live in the Fairyland Duplication is also possible.”

”At the very least, in the duplication created by Wonderland of Dreams, there are places to stay and green plants, which is much more suitable than the empty white wasteland outside the Crystal Origin.”

”Of course, the premise is that it is best if it can be a controllable Wonderland of Dreams. But now it seems that no Wonderland of Dreams is absolutely safe... just pretend I didn’t say that.”

Although Laplace herself denied the option of Wonderland of Dreams, Angel became interested after hearing this suggestion.

In his heart, he actually doesn’t want to replicate towns in the Crystal Origin of Dreams, the environment of the Crystal Origin is completely different from the Wilderness of Dreams. The reason the Wilderness of Dreams is so comfortable to live in is because of the Tree Civilization.

The presence of Dream Plant Fairies brings a suitable environment; the presence of Membrane of Rhythm brings hope for life.

And neither the Dream Plant Fairies nor the Membrane of Rhythm can be currently realized in the Crystal Origin of Dreams.

Especially the Dream Plant Fairies.

Dream Plant Fairies originate from the Tree Civilization, and the foundation of Tree Civilization is the Mother Tree; the Crystal Origin does not have a Mother Tree, so the Tree Civilization authority is completely dim in the Crystal Origin, unable to be used at all.

If there are no green plants, no life, even if the town is pulled into the Crystal Origin, it’s actually like a cage without hope for the Indigenous People.

Therefore, Angel wants not only a once-and-for-all solution, but also to let the Indigenous People find a sense of belonging in the new ecology.

Also, he hopes the Crystal Origin can develop its own unique ecology, not just collide everywhere with the Wilderness of Dreams.

Imitation leads to death, creation leads to life.

To summarize the experience of the Wilderness of Dreams and open another different world in the Crystal Origin, this is what Angel wishes to see the most.

And how can you open a completely different world?

Laplace’s words inspired Angel: from the intrinsic nature of the Crystal Origin, perhaps this is the right path.

The most distinctive thing about the Crystal Origin currently is Wonderland of Dreams.

Perhaps he can find a living solution within Wonderland of Dreams?

”So, have you made a decision?” Laplace saw Angel’s previously confused gaze slowly become bright, and then asked.

Angel: ”I have some ideas, but the specific plan may need me to study for a while.”

”Before there’s a clue for my plan, I decided to adopt your first suggestion, build a temporary village in the Mirror Domain, and directly pull it into the Crystal Origin for them to temporarily stay.”

Angel wants to study Wonderland of Dreams or look for other unique authority in the Crystal Origin, but this requires time, so he decided to use a compromise first.

Let the Indigenous People settle first, and then talk about other things once he has researched it.

Laplace casually nodded: ”Alright then, Rabbit Mountain is quite large, how about building it there?”

Angel: ”Okay.”

”Good.” Laplace will also follow along, after all, building the town through Aggregation Energy still requires her involvement.

Laplace paused and said, ”You seem to be quite concerned about this group of Indigenous People.”

In her view, there is no need to deliberately pay attention to these Indigenous People. Their original pursuit was merely to ”live,” and Angel, through the special nature of the Crystal Origin, transformed them into Indigenous People, fulfilling their desire to live, which is already pretty good.

Considering their lives now, it seems unnecessary to Laplace.

Angel silently replied, ”After all, they are specially invited to block the summons for us...”

Without them, Angel and Laplace would not dare to log into the Crystal Origin for fear of the Circus’ full state summon, dragging them in again.

Laplace also shut her mouth at this moment, indeed, this group of Indigenous People being able to ”block the summon” is already a huge contribution.

She definitely doesn’t want to be taken back to the Circus to be watched like a monkey.

Laplace: ”If there’s nothing else, we’ll meet at Rabbit Mountain later.”

”There’s no other issue for now.” Angel just finished speaking when he suddenly thought of something: ”Oh, by the way, I previously...”

However, before Angel finished speaking, Laplace suddenly turned her head with a look of surprise, looking to the side.

Angel subconsciously followed Laplace’s gaze.

Only to see the fishing rod previously tossed aside by Laplace, unexpectedly starting to move...

Angel and Laplace exchanged a glance, both seeing the same words in each other’s eyes: Is this, a catch?!

Laplace hurriedly grabbed the fishing rod and started pulling in the line, following the operations recorded in the book.

One minute later, a plump big fish with a tuft of white mane on its neck and gray-white scales all over was thrown into the fish basket.

Looking at the fish still struggling and jumping inside the basket, Laplace and Angel both fell silent.

”I guess this counts as your catch...” Angel muttered in a low voice.

Laplace: ”...”

She really wanted to say ”yes,” but couldn’t bring herself to say it. After all, she hadn’t been fishing before, she was chatting with Angel the whole time, not even placing her hand on the fishing rod.

Angel: ”I don’t think our talking necessarily affects the fish underwater.”

Laplace: ”...” You didn’t have to say that.

Angel: ”Anyway, having a catch is still considered good.”

Although that’s what they said, Laplace kept feeling targeted, that she worked diligently, earnestly, and wholeheartedly while fishing, but not a single fish bit the hook, even swimming around the boat as if mocking her.

And when she completely ignored it, even tossing the rod aside, the result was a catch?!

What is this?

Laplace felt very complicated, aggrieved, and she vaguely sensed malicious intent from the god of fishing.
