Warlock Apprentice

After Lord Monroe left, Angel leisurely looked at Frode.

”From what you said, have you decided to tell them about the Dream Plant Fairies?”

Frode nodded silently. He couldn’t keep the residents of Originheart City in the dark forever because the Dream Plant Fairies, in their quest to explore ”balance,” would inevitably seek out the so-called human territories. Meeting them abruptly then was less preferable than giving a prior warning.

Angel: ”After telling them, what attitude do you intend for them to maintain toward the Dream Plant Fairies? Is it to conservatively maintain balance, or... take a more aggressive stance?”

Frode chuckled bitterly: ”Currently, Originheart City does not have the capital to be aggressive with the Dream Plant Fairies.”

”My current thought is to keep a distance while also being vigilant and increasing our guard against them.” Frode paused: ”This is the tone I want to set, and as for the specifics, I’ll make detailed plans after discussing with Lord Monroe.”

Frode wasn’t a conceited person; he believed that Lord Monroe’s broad perspective and strategy were more suitable for handling this unknown bilateral relationship. He would heed the opinions of Lord Monroe and other advisors before making a decision.

Angel nodded, understanding that while this issue was troublesome, it wasn’t unsolvable. It should be manageable by leaving it to Frode.

If handled properly, it could also alleviate some of Frode’s feelings of guilt to an extent.

Thinking about this, Angel didn’t dwell on the matter further and instead moved to the main topic—the detailed information about the Dream Plant Fairies.

Angel discussed various aspects of the Dream Plant Fairies, including their reproduction methods, tribal structure, civilizational benchmark, personality traits, and abilities...

The more Frode listened, the more deeply his brow furrowed.

The situation of the Dream Plant Fairies was even more complex and diverse than he had imagined.

First, in terms of appearance, unlike the generally similar physical traits of humans, the Dream Plant Fairies had entirely diverse forms. From the Dream Plant Fairies Frode had seen on the mother tree, it was clear they had no fixed image—some were as tall as mountains, some as small as bees, some humanoid, some resembling objects, with the only common feature being some plant traits on them.

Their method of reproduction also differed from humans. When they wish to reproduce, they don’t need a partner; they can directly split a strand of their Origin, pray to the mother tree, receive a new cocoon, and wait for energy accumulation until it hatches.

Because the new cocoon is a split of the Origin, the new Dream Plant Fairies can inherit much information and knowledge from the mother body’s Origin while inside the cocoon. That is to say, newborn Dream Plant Fairies are already endowed with high intelligence.

Their tribal structure is also close-knit. Except for a few solitary ones, they prefer to act in groups. They have no concept of family or clan but have a concept of team cooperation.

With their reproduction methods and tribal structure being different from humans, Frode couldn’t determine whether the human way was better or the Dream Plant Fairies’ way, but one could be certain that due to the wisdom inheritance and teamwork, the Dream Plant Fairies surpassed humans in an average comparison.

Beyond that, what worried Frode most was the abilities of the Dream Plant Fairies.

Each Dream Plant Fairy had the ability to nurture plants, which was a universal skill they possessed without much concern. However, among the Dream Plant Fairies, some not only had the ability to stimulate plant growth but also possessed unique special abilities; some even had more than one ability.

For instance, some Dream Plant Fairies that Frode had seen had Water Elements swirling around them—this was the power of water control. Since there was water control, naturally other elements could also be manipulated by Dream Plant Fairies.

It wasn’t just elemental abilities; they also had abilities to enhance themselves and mental transmission abilities centered around the mother tree.

These abilities were diverse, and some of them were quite powerful. Humans facing such power were almost uniformly crushed.

Of course, there were those who could contend with them, like Demon Hunters merged with Demonic Fiends. Moreover, due to the Energy Level Limitation, some Demon Hunters were even more powerful than the Dream Plant Fairies.

But the number of Demon Hunters was just too few, and even though they were stronger, they hadn’t reached the point where one could suppress a group with individual power. So, in terms of abilities, humans were definitely at a disadvantage.

Frode furrowed his brow tightly, the more he understood, the more he saw the gap.

Wisdom inheritance, team cooperation, special abilities, each one surpassed ordinary humans by a line. Combined with the sheer number of Dream Plant Fairies, if they were to confront them now, the residents of Originheart City would surely suffer.

However, the only relief for Frode was that the core of the Dream Plant Fairies, their mother tree, which held their centripetal force and sense of belonging, could be controlled by Angel.

As long as the mother tree was under control, the behavior of the Dream Plant Fairies could be guided to some extent.

And because Angel commanded the Dream Plant Fairies to maintain balance, Frode believed that even if the Dream Plant Fairies discovered Originheart City, nothing unusual should occur as long as the city’s residents did not provoke them in the short term.

Time was on their side.

Once Sanders constructed an energy system in the Wilderness of Dreams, allowing real-world power to be brought in, they should be able to hold their own if things came to a head with the Dream Plant Fairies.

Upon thinking this through, the taut string in Frode’s heart relaxed slightly.

After hearing about the Dream Plant Fairies, Frode began to ponder how to discuss matters with Lord Monroe, considering what could and could not be disclosed.

While Frode was pondering, Angel suddenly asked, ”Speaking of which, what do you think about the incident where Flafiel fainted as mentioned by Lord Monroe before?”

”Flafiel...” Frode was taken aback, not expecting Angel to bring it up suddenly, ”Due to the unique physique of Dream Realm residents, it’s extremely rare for them to faint. To simply say that the earth tremor scared her into fainting, I find it unbelievable.”

Angel: ”Then what do you think it might be?”

”What might it be?” Frode muttered in a low voice: ”Fainting during the tremor, is it a stress reaction? Probably not... Then what could it be? Considering during the tremor, it was when the mother tree broke through the earth, the initial appearance of tree civilization...”

As Frode muttered, he suddenly realized something: ”Could it be the compatibility of authority?”

Angel nodded: ”I also think it’s related to compatibility.”

Since the ”Tree Civilization” authority wasn’t borne by Angel, he didn’t know who had high compatibility and who had low compatibility. But Flafiel fainted at the precise moment when the tree civilization authority was activated, which likely had a significant connection with compatibility.
