Warlock Apprentice

Sanders witnessed the changes the Tree Civilization brought to the Wilderness of Dreams and was eager to see what the Wilderness would look like with an energy system.

So, Sanders said goodbye to Angel and left the Wilderness of Dreams first to calculate the new authority’s bearing capacity.

Angel controlled the hurricane, carrying Frode for hundreds of miles before stopping.

They could no longer see the mother tree here, but they could still vaguely see a surge of green mist diffusing in the distance.

The reason Angel brought Frode here was actually to observe the rate of diffusion of the green mist.

This green mist was the tidal wave of the first major plant eruption in the Wilderness of Dreams. In areas covered by the green mist, vegetation would start to grow. This was certainly good for the environment of the Wilderness of Dreams, but in another perspective, areas covered by vegetation were also where the Dream Plant Fairy’s influence would spread.

Therefore, Frode also needed to immediately control which way the green mist was drifting, when it would reach Originheart City, and how far it would spread upon arrival.

Frode stood at the edge of the green mist, observing for about half an hour.

”Although there is still a long distance to Originheart City from here, the rate of the mist’s diffusion is too fast. At this speed, it might reach the vicinity of Originheart City by tomorrow night,” Frode said softly.

Angel: ”Considering it will be continually consumed as it progresses, when it reaches Originheart City, there might be few plant seeds left. However, some Dream Plant Fairies are sure to appear when the green mist arrives.”

Frode nodded. It was now necessary to consider not only the plant issue near Originheart City but also whether to inform the residents of Originheart City about the presence of Dream Plant Fairies.

The behavior of Dream Plant Fairies was unknown, and their thoughts were hard to control. Would informing the people of Originheart City cause another wave of panic?

Frode sighed lightly in his heart. It was all because he had insisted on this authority earlier, or else this wouldn’t have happened.

Angel was always watching Frode’s expression and knew he had fallen into another spiral of self-blame when he saw his eyes dim.

”Let’s head back to Originheart City first. I’ll talk to you in detail about the Dream Plant Fairy race.” Regardless of whether to announce the existence of Dream Plant Fairies now, the primary thing was to understand their system.

Frode nodded; indeed, it was time to return to Originheart City to have a look. Just now, he learned from Angel that even though Originheart City was far from the mother tree, the earthquake that broke the ground caused the entire Wilderness of Dreams to tremble. Who knew what the situation in Originheart City was like now.

Frode logged out of the Wilderness of Dreams.

When he entered the Wilderness of Dreams again, his location had already been modified by Angel to the top of the Sky Tower.

As soon as he entered, Frode, from an overlooking perspective, saw the current situation of Originheart City.

Overall, there were no signs of collapse in the buildings of Originheart City, but some buildings showed obvious cracks on their walls. Also, Frode saw that many people had gathered on the long street near the square, not knowing what had happened.

Just as Frode was about to call someone to check it out, he heard knocking on the door from the outer room.

When Frode returned to the room and opened the door, he saw City Lord Monroe standing at the entrance.

When Monroe saw Frode, a trace of doubt flashed in her eyes, but it quickly disappeared.

After the earthquake occurred, she had come knocking several times without seeing Frode. Now that Frode had appeared out of nowhere, and Angel was also in the room, Monroe seemed to realize something.

Monroe walked over without showing any emotion and respectfully saluted Angel and Frode.

”Did you come to see me about the earthquake report?” Frode returned to his desk, and Angel sat silently on the sofa beside him.

”Yes.” Monroe nodded, placing a stack of documents on Frode’s desk. ”Master Tyson, this is the record of building damage caused by the earthquake. No buildings collapsed, but nearly a hundred houses had cracks. I have already arranged for the construction team to go over for repairs. However...”

”However, the lumber in the warehouse is already insufficient.”

The reason Monroe specifically came to see Frode was to bring up the matter of lumber. Because there was a city ban in Originheart City, no one could go to the Outercity, and thus it was impossible to obtain lumber. Previously, all wood-related materials were brought into the city by Frode from unknown places.

Frode browsed through the damage records provided by Monroe, confirming that there were no issues, and nodded. ”I understand. I’ll solve the issue of the shortage of lumber later. For places needing lumber for repairs, put them on hold for now. As for some residents’ roof damage, they shouldn’t worry. It shouldn’t rain recently...”

When Frode said these words, he peeked at Angel, saw Angel nod slightly to him, and he coughed, ”It definitely won’t rain. It’s not too late to repair after the lumber arrives.”

Monroe could tell there was something odd about Frode’s words, but she didn’t point it out; instead, she nodded. ”I understand. I’ll pass this message on now.”

Monroe finished speaking and was about to leave.

”Wait.” Frode stopped her, and under Monroe’s puzzled gaze, he asked, ”Did something happen near the square? Why are so many people gathered?”

Monroe thought for a moment and said, ”Does Master Tyson mean the Flafiel fainting incident?”

Flafiel? Hearing the name, Angel raised an eyebrow.

There were many people in Originheart City; Angel couldn’t possibly remember everyone, but he had heard of Flafiel.

Before determining the Mist of Sin as the authority of diffusion, Frode had set up an Anomaly Investigation Group to specifically investigate anomalies occurring in the city to pinpoint what authority had initially diffused.

Among the various anomalous records, there was one about ”The Haunting Melody of the Dark Alley.”

After investigation, it was discovered that the so-called haunting melody was actually a woman humming a song casually out of boredom. This woman was none other than Flafiel.

”She fainted? What happened?” Frode seemed to remember who Flafiel was and asked curiously.

Monroe shook her head, ”I don’t know what happened. Flafiel was originally warming up for a rehearsal in the square, and then just a moment ago, she was found fainted on the ground.”

”According to those rehearsing with her, Flafiel suddenly fainted during the earthquake,” Monroe recalled and speculated, ”Could it be that she fainted out of fright from the earthquake?”

”Fainted out of fright? How is that possible?” Frode mumbled with a frown and nodded to Monroe, ”Alright, I got it.”

After Frode finished speaking, he ignored Monroe and fell into deep thought.

Monroe should have left at that moment, but her expression was uncharacteristically conflicted. She hesitated for a long time and said with uncertainty, ”Master Tyson, this earthquake...”

Monroe wanted to ask about the earthquake, but she didn’t know where to start, so she stopped halfway.

However, Frode understood what Monroe meant and, after glancing at her, he said, ”Regarding the earthquake... I’ll discuss it with you in detail later. You can go handle other matters for now.”
