Warlock Apprentice

”What is this?” Frode reached out his hand and pinched a few small green particles with his fingertips.

”These are seeds.” A sparse voice sounded in Frode’s ear.

Is this Angel’s voice? Has Angel already come in? Where is he? Frode looked around, but saw only thick mist and no trace of Angel.

As Frode was puzzled, a tornado suddenly swept in from the mist.

Before Frode realized what was happening, the whirlwind lifted him from below, and after a moment of weightlessness, he found himself being buoyed upwards by this tornado that appeared out of nowhere.

It was as if a wind element sprite was lifting him up into the sky.

Not only him, but Sanders was also swept up by the whirlwind. However, Sanders remained calm from head to toe, even though the wind was strong, his demeanor was unaffected; it was Frode who felt bewildered by the sudden event.

It took a while for Frode to regain his composure. This sudden, upward-directed whirlwind must be manipulated by someone. And the only person capable of generating a whirlwind out of thin air in the Barbarian Cave was probably Angel.

Realizing it was Angel’s trick, Frode calmed down and took the time to recall Angel’s earlier response.

”Seeds?” Frode no longer cared where the whirlwind was taking them, but instead examined the small green particles on his fingertips: ”Are these the seeds that can be planted in the Wilderness of Dreams? Do they have vitality?”

”They can indeed be planted, but as for vitality, even if they do have some, its manifestation would differ from what you imagine.” Angel’s voice came again, this time Frode heard clearly, the voice came from above.

Although Angel didn’t elaborate, Frode understood his meaning well.

This is ”life” native to the Wilderness of Dreams, and its way of exhibiting life must be opposite to reality, perhaps similar to the creatures in the Dream Realm? Or maybe, like demonic fiends?

While Frode was deep in thought, he suddenly felt the surroundings become a bit brighter, the haze previously shrouded by mist instantly became thin and clear.

Furthermore, the surroundings grew increasingly bright, until they were lifted by the whirlwind, breaking through the barrier of mist to see the clear blue sky and bright sunshine.

When they emerged from the mist, Frode also saw Angel standing on the clouds.

Just as Frode wanted to greet, he saw Angel not looking at them, but gazing in another direction.

”Huh?” Sanders’ voice of surprise also reached Frode’s ears just in time.

Frode, filled with curiosity, followed Angel’s gaze...

”What is this?!” When Frode saw the scene in the distance, his pupils shrank sharply, his expression was shocked, and his mouth couldn’t help but open slightly.

And all these expressions were unconsciously revealed by Frode!

The scene in front of him was utterly beyond Frode’s imagination!

Previously, when Angel mentioned a towering giant tree, the extent Frode could imagine was akin to the Eternal Tree, although he had only seen illustrations of the Eternal Tree in books, it had already amazed him.

But what he hadn’t expected was that the giant tree before him even surpassed the limits of his imagination!

The dark brown sturdy trunk, just its width alone, was impossible to see its end with a single glance! Frode could confirm that this tree’s trunk was many times bigger than the Nightmare Orphanage, probably comparable to half the size of Bolai Town!

Aside from the trunk’s massive size, the most astonishing feature of this tree was the initial shock it imparted.

What does it mean to be towering to the sky? Frode looked up along the trunk, but all he saw was a green, shadowy canopy, utterly unable to see the top.

Frode didn’t know what species this tree was, but it possessed many traits of different trees, such as the tree canopy of the Socotra tree with numerous branches meandering like streets crisscrossing in the sky; or the leaves of the fishtail palm, broad as floating duckweed, luxuriantly interwoven, each leaf like a plaza.

The shock this tree brought to Frode didn’t stop at itself.

A thick layer of green fog surrounded the tree. That green, thick as if it could drip like emerald-green sap.

Frode could be sure that the supposed green fog was definitely not mist, but rather the green particles he saw before... seeds!

With such a vast area of green fog, who knows how many seeds are contained within? Billions, tens of billions, or even more?

If all these seeds could be planted, the Wilderness of Dreams would instantly transform from a wasteland to a green paradise!

As Frode thought about this, a portion of the green fog surrounding the towering giant tree had already merged with the earth.

Perhaps the initial manifestation of authority received the blessing of the Law, or maybe it was the support of the towering giant tree, those green fogs that fell to the earth began to sprout at an extraordinary speed, in an instant, a verdant greenland appeared around the giant tree.

Various strange flowers and plants, as well as trees and vines, began to spread from the tree as the center towards the surroundings.

It was like a drop of ink falling into white water, instantaneously dyeing a patch. Here, it was seeds falling into the earth, dyeing the world green.

Moreover, the speed of the spread was extremely fast, originally this giant tree was thousands of meters away from them, but in the blink of an eye, the forest had already grown on the ground below them.

Some of the taller trees even broke through the mist, revealing the shape of their treetops and the fruits concealed beneath them.

Smelling the rich fragrance of life in the air, looking at the incredible scene before them.

Frode was completely shocked: Is this Tree Civilization so domineering? Does plant growth not require time? And with such rampant intrusion, can the nutrients in the soil keep up?

If Frode’s mental activity was known to Angel, he would probably just smile faintly.

The plants in the Wilderness of Dreams cannot be judged by reality’s standards, and moreover, this plant explosion consumed the inherent power manifested when the ”Tree Civilization” authority initially appeared. This towering giant tree was in its nascent explosion phase, providing almost all the energy and even feeding back to the land, turning the barren wilderness into fertile soil.

However, this rapid growth would only occur during this period; in the future, plant growth would likely still have to abide by the rules of Tree Civilization.

”These plants...” Frode had many questions and wanted to ask Angel, but as he just started, Angel interrupted him.

”Let’s talk later, keep watching.”

Even with the wild growth of these plants, Angel was still pleased to see it. If this power truly were handed over to Frode, it would probably take years to spread throughout the Wilderness of Dreams. But letting the world itself handle it would not even take a few days.

However, what truly caught Angel’s attention was not the plants at hand, but rather...

Angel looked towards the surroundings of the distant giant tree, where the green fog continued to fly with the wind.

Angel was very clear that the green fog consisted of seeds. However, among these dense clusters of seeds, some were glowing faintly.
