Warlock Apprentice

As soon as the words fell, countless waves of information began to diffuse outward from those bioluminescent seeds.

These waves of information gathered together, transforming into a clamorous torrent, continuously scouring in all directions.

The meaning they conveyed was roughly the same as when the Vine Demoness was still just a light point. However, the overwhelming waves, though not bombarding the ears, still made Frode and others standing in the distance feel a sense of inner unrest.

Fortunately, they seemed to realize the problem of the clamor on their own, and gradually the sounds waned. At the same time, the bioluminescent seeds started to fly toward various parts of the towering tree.

In a few seconds, the immense tree was covered with vague light points, like a mist of light, adorning the tree with a dreamlike aura.

These light points no longer emitted any waves, but all displayed intimacy and worship toward the towering tree.

The towering tree did not reject them; instead, just as it had previously aided the Vine Demoness, it began to emit a faint green vitality to provide the ”cocooning” energy for these light points.

Not long after, the light points all transformed into cocoons. Various kinds of cocoons densely stacked in different locations of the tree.

Frode looked at these countless cocoons, a hint of concern flashing in his eyes: Undoubtedly, these cocoons signify a life similar to the Vine Demoness. They are likely to form a new species of Fairy, and relying on this tree, would potentially dwell in the Wilderness of Dreams in the future.

The diversification of species in the Wilderness of Dreams is something Frode is naturally pleased to see, but Angel had also said that these Fairies are difficult to control.

With their behavior and thoughts difficult to control, could these Fairies pose a threat to the residents of Originheart City?

Even without strength, simply their numbers could easily overwhelm Originheart City. Not to mention, judging from the prior powerful perception of the Vine Demoness and her terrifying size, this group of Fairies’ abilities is certainly not weaker than ordinary humans.

Thinking about how so many Fairies might threaten Originheart City gave Frode chills.

Had he known earlier, he would not have suggested the authority for plant growth... Even if he did, he should have borne the failure himself.

As these thoughts crossed his mind, self-reproach and guilt surged from Frode’s heart.

While Frode’s mind was in turmoil, the towering tree once again provided some green vitality to aid the cocooned Fairies in quickly breaking free from their cocoons. However, this time, the energy released by the towering tree was significantly less, seemingly the initial welfare of authority was nearly exhausted, and sustaining these cocoons solely by the tree was somewhat unsustainable.

Even so, this green vitality from the tree caused a significant portion of the cocoons to show signs of breaking.

As for the cocoons that hadn’t broken yet, with the accumulation of time, they would gradually transform, not urgent for the moment.

Countless kin of the Vine Demoness began to emerge from their cocoons.

Although Frode was quite worried, he still closely watched these newly born groups. Regardless of the future, he at least needed to determine their current status.

Besides the Vine Demoness, the first to emerge was a Treant with numerous branches hanging from its head. Standing over ten meters tall, its massive figure rivaled that of a young mountain giant, with a human-like face in the center of its trunk, yet due to the wrinkles of the bark, it looked somewhat aged.

Most peculiarly, atop the head of this unknown kind of Treant, hidden within lush leaves, was a golden fruit.

Even from thousands of meters away, Frode could faintly smell the unique fragrance of the golden fruit.

The third to break from the cocoon, differing from the prior Vine Demoness and Treant, appeared entirely as a human youth, though with exceptionally beautiful features and a very pure aura. The only difference from humans was the youth’s long hair, which at the ends blossomed into white fluffy flowers. These white fluffy flowers seemed capable of flight, hence they kept the youth floating in the air.

Fourth, fifth... More and more cocoons broke open, and various Fairies emerged from them.

A few resembled each other, but the majority had distinct appearances and characteristics: some as tall as mountains, some as small as bees and butterflies, some round and plump like the moon, others as thin as bamboo rods, hard to imagine they were of the same race.

From Frode’s observation, the only commonality among these Fairies seemed to be... related to plants.

All the Fairies had some plant-related features to varying degrees, perhaps the only visible trait to distinguish their race.

In an instant, tens of thousands of Fairies were born, a mere one percent or thousandth of all the cocoons.

After their birth, they seemed to inherently possess a communication skill and began conversing softly... However, Frode did not understand their language.

Nonetheless, Frode noticed that some Fairies occasionally glanced in their direction during their exchanges, presumably discussing them.

Frode was unsure of the Fairies’ attitudes toward Sanders and Angel, but he clearly saw that most of the Fairies gazing his way wore expressions of indifference, and even evident aversion and rejection. There were also very few who appeared curious and friendly, but those were extremely scarce.

Witnessing this scene sent a chill down Frode’s spine, for these Fairies obviously bore innate animosity towards humans.

Even if Angel were to guide them, the final effect might not be significant.

It seems Originheart City might indeed face upheaval in the future due to his current foolishness.

Frode anxiously looked toward Angel, hoping to inquire if there were any ways to prevent this looming disaster.

However, at this moment, Angel was not looking at Frode but was still staring intently at the distant tree.

For once again, that towering tree was releasing green energy.

”Could it be, this tree intends to birth more cocoons?” Sanders frowned as he observed the energy surging again from the tree trunk.

Yet, contrary to Sanders’ expectations, the unbroken cocoons remained quietly lying in every corner of the tree, the green energy not flowing into them, but rather into the bodies of the already born Fairies.

The Fairies imbued with green energy saw their momentum soar instantly.

The most daunting among them were the first three Fairies to break from their cocoons: the Vine Demoness’s hair danced wildly, the spikes on her body glinted with a ghostly green light, as if poisoned; the Treant’s skin gradually changed from gray-brown to pale silver, as though coated with metal, its head’s golden fruit exuding an even richer fragrance; as for the young man, his appearance stayed the same, but his aura started to ascend infinitely, as if merely gazing into his eyes would make one’s heart tremble!

”This is... the evolution of their nature of life!”
