Triple X System

The ten remaining grunt-tier blood puppets didn’t give Kyle or Elara a single microsecond to formulate a defensive strategy. Moving with their chilling, insectoid synchronized coordination, they lunged inward simultaneously from all angles, their iron-reinforced claws whistling through the heavy, dark grey smog.

”Get behind me!” Kyle bellowed, his 245 Will stat roaring into focus as he braced his frame.

He didn’t have the luxury of dodging. If he moved out of the way, Elara’s frail human body would be instantly torn into crimson ribbons by the overlapping 240 Strength attributes of the constructs. Instead, he planted his boots deep into the basalt stone, utilizing his remaining 450 Shadow Energy to deploy a desperate defensive gambit.

”Shadow Craft: Aegis!”

Expending 200 points of his shadow reserve, Kyle forcefully warped the dark outlines cast by the canyon walls, condensing the shadows into a thick, semi-solid dome of dark energy around himself and Elara.

*BANG! BANG! BANG!*

A rapid-fire succession of heavy, metallic impacts slammed against the exterior of the shadow dome. The ten puppets were relentlessly hacking at the barrier, their iron claws chipping away at the condensed darkness with terrifying speed. Because of their passive *Necro-Hardened Carapace*, the shockwaves of their own impacts didn’t even phase them. The shadow shield rippled violently, micro-fractures spreading across the surface as Kyle’s stamina drained from the feedback.

**[SHADOW ENERGY REMAINING: 250/1000]**

**[SHADOW CRAFT SHIELD INTEGRITY: 42% AND DROPPING]**

”This barrier isn’t going to hold for more than five seconds!” Elara yelled over the deafening clatter of the claws, her hands shaking as she tried to gather whatever residual light particles remained in the air. ”Kyle, my mana is nearly bottomed out. I can cast one more focused spell, but if it doesn’t break their perimeter, we’re done!”

Kyle’s mind raced at overclocked speeds. His Demon Energy was sitting at a low 650, and his Shadow Energy was practically empty. If he tried to fight them back-to-back in a war of attrition, their *Blood Siphon* trait would simply heal whatever standard damage he inflicted by draining his health pool. He needed an absolute, undeniable disruption.

*’Hey,’* Kyle called out internally, his mental tone shifting into a fierce, demanding register as he targeted the soul bond insignia on his left hand. *’Wake up, parasite! I know you’re resting after the basin fight, but if you don’t unleash that hierarchy suppression right now, these synthetic trash bags are going to turn us into paste. Clause 2 of the contract—preserve my existence!’*

A low, heavily weighted sigh echoed from the deep recesses of his consciousness, the Rootcrystal Deer’s telepathic voice laced with a deep, aristocratic annoyance. *’To think a successor of the demon of lust is reduced to begging a beast for an aura burst against simple foot soldiers... how thoroughly embarrassing. Very well, student. Look closely at the ash of the first puppet you destroyed. I will grant you a single window. Do not waste it.’*

The moment the telepathic link severed, the runic tattoo on Kyle’s hand flashed a sharp, blinding crimson light.

Instead of manifesting a massive physical projection like before, the deer channeled its ancient authority directly through Kyle’s vocal cords. Kyle felt his chest involuntarily expand, a sudden, suffocating surge of primordial malice filling his throat. He opened his mouth, letting out a resonant, guttural demonic roar that wasn’t his own.

*ROAR!*

The sound wave blasted outward from the cracking shadow dome, carrying a localized shockwave of pure, high-tier hierarchy suppression. The absolute authority of a near-deity crashed against the ten blood puppets. Because they were synthetic constructs animated by dark necro-magic rather than living beings, the aura burst didn’t completely paralyze them, but it violently disrupted the mental thrall network binding them to Vladimir’s command.

Instantly, all ten blood puppets stumbled backward, their synchronized coordination completely shattering as they clutched their heads, their milky-white eyes flickering erratically.

”Now, Elara! Blast the pass!” Kyle roared.

Elara didn’t miss a beat. She thrust her hands forward, channeling the absolute final drops of her restored mana core. ”Light Affinity: Solar Fracture!”

A blinding, supernova-like flash of pure white light erupted from her palms, projecting a wide, sweeping beam that tore through the narrow canyon shelf. The intense positive polarity energy washed over the ten staggered puppets, violently reacting with their calcified blood essence cores. Their necro-hardened carapaces began to violently crack, thick plumes of black smoke venting from their joints as they screech-watted in agony, their durability attributes temporarily halved by the light exposure.

With the path cleared by the blast, Kyle didn’t waste a single millisecond trying to finish them off. He knew it was a tactical trap.

He lunged forward, executing his final *Flash Kill* charge to close the distance. He grabbed Elara by the waist, throwing her over his shoulder in one fluid motion, and utilized the 15% baseline movement speed boost from his Abyssal Talon leg to sprint past the blinded, thrashing constructs. His boots tore through the narrow pass, kicking up a massive trail of grey ash as they broke the perimeter and hurdled deeper into the upper shelf of the trenches.

They ran for a straight kilometer, navigating the twisting, maze-like basalt rifts until the metallic screeches of the puppets finally faded into the distance.

Kyle finally slowed to a halt beneath a small, overhanging rock shelf that offered temporary concealment from the sky. He lowered Elara to the ground, both of them collapsing against the basalt wall, panting heavily as their resource pools flashed warnings.

”We... we made it,” Elara wheezed, her back sliding down the stone as she clutched her empty chest core. Her face was completely spent, but she looked up at Kyle with a new, profound level of tactical respect. ”That roar... that wasn’t yours, was it? You’re harboring something ancient inside that left hand of yours.”

”A deal is a deal, witch,” Kyle grunted, leaning his head back as he checked his item logs. ”Let’s just say I have a very demanding business partner.”

As he spoke, Kyle noticed a faint, blinking light at the corner of his peripheral vision. During their frantic escape through the ash of the first destroyed blood puppet, his system’s automatic looting function had silently registered a dropped object. Curious, he pulled up the active log interface.

**[SYSTEM NOTIFICATION: AUTOMATIC LOOT ACQUIRED!]**

**[ITEM LOGGED: CRACKED CRIMSON CORE FRAGMENT (GRUND-TIER)]**

- Description: A calcified crystal containing the residual, condensed blood-essence instructions used by Vladimir to animate his constructs.

- Hidden Intel Unlocked via High Intelligence Stat (200): Deep-scanning the core fragment has mapped the localized thrall transmission lines.

- Map Data Acquired: A basic holographic layout of the Shifting Abyssal Trenches has been uploaded to the system’s radar.

Kyle’s eyes widened slightly as the green grid layout of his mini-map suddenly expanded, revealing a highly detailed, geometric blueprint of the massive rifts stretching out ahead of them. The map traced a series of subterranean tunnels, marking the perimeter patrols, the automated manufacturing lines, and a central, massive structural hub labeled: *The 9th Cycle Order Facility*.

”What are you looking at?” Elara asked, noticing the way his crimson eyes were tracking invisible coordinates in the air.

”I found a map,” Kyle said, his voice dropping into a serious register as he closed the interface. ”The puppet I burned dropped a core fragment. The system decoded it. I have the entire layout of the trench facilities right here.”

Elara’s jaw dropped slightly. ”Are you serious? A layout of Vladimir’s personal sector? That’s impossible. His network security is supposed to be absolute.”

”The system doesn’t care about his security,” Kyle replied smoothly, a confident, dangerous grin crossing his lips. He pointed toward a specific, glowing red vector on the internal map that matched the exact directional path of Yua’s elemental markers. ”Look here. Yua’s markers aren’t avoiding the facilities. She is moving directly toward the *9th Cycle Order Hub*. She’s hunting something inside their main compound.”

Elara’s expression instantly turned dead serious, a cold sweat breaking out across her collarbone as she studied Kyle’s face. ”Kyle... if she’s inside that hub, she’s walking straight into a fortress. Those grunt puppets we just fought? The layout probably shows hundreds of them guarding the inner sectors. And if those were just the grunts... the elite blood puppets guarding the Lord’s facility will be on a completely different level of horror.”

Kyle stood back up, his Abyssal Talon leg grounding his posture with an unyielding stability. He looked out from beneath the rock shelf, staring down into the dark, massive rifts of the trenches where the automated crimson lights of the vampire facilities were faintly blinking through the dark grey smog. He knew the risks. He knew his stats were pushing the absolute line, and his energy was critically low. But with the map unlocked and his wife’s path fully laid bare before him, there was no turning back.

”Then we better get moving, witch,” Kyle said, his crimson eyes burning like twin stars in the twilight. ”We’ve got a fortress to infiltrate.”
