Triple X System

The 25% defense ignore ripped past the creature’s energetic shielding, and the high-tier hellfire detonated its core from the inside out. The fourth Nabuyak exploded into a massive shockwave of grey ash, the kinetic force blowing away the surrounding dark fog for a three-mile radius.

Kyle hit the ground sliding, his right leg smoking, his breath completely ragged as his HP indicators flashed warning symbols.

[HP: 150/1000]

[Demon Energy: 1300/2500]

[Shadow Energy: 750/1000]

Behind him, the massive pile of debris began to explode upward. The first two Nabuyaks, though heavily damaged and scarred by the runic timber, had finally broken free from their wooden prison. Their structures were cracked, their red circles flickering unsteadily, but their hatred had reached an absolute boiling point. They slithered forward, dragging their broken energy matrices, ready to drag Kyle down into the dirt with them.

Kyle stood his ground, lifting his fists despite his trembling muscles. He was completely out of high-tier tricks, but his killing intent remained completely steady at 25 points.

But before the two damaged beasts could close the distance, the runic tattoo on Kyle’s left hand flared with a blinding, incandescent crimson light.

The shadow cloud of the Rootcrystal Deer suddenly manifested from his flesh, expanding into a massive, ethereal projection of the majestic horned beast that towered over the clearing. The deer didn’t attack. It simply let out a low, resonant snort that rippled across the plains like a localized electromagnetic pulse.

The moment the sound wave struck the two remaining Nabuyaks, their black snake eyes dilated with a sudden, absolute terror. It was a hierarchy suppression—the authority of a higher being completely paralyzing a lower-tier apex predator. Recognizing the ancient presence within Kyle, the two beasts slowly backed away into the deep fog, their forms dissolving back into the planetary miasma until their signatures completely vanished from Snow’s radar.

The crimson projection receded back into Kyle’s hand, leaving behind a faint, pulsing warmth.

’A passable performance, student,’ the deer’s telepathic voice resonated inside his mind, its tone carrying a hint of genuine, albeit cynical, respect. ’You managed to survive without forcing me to break the terms of our little contract. Perhaps you aren’t completely entirely useless.’

Kyle dropped to one knee, gasping for air as the Medium Regeneration of his devil scales slowly began to patch up his blistered skin and torn muscles. He looked over at Elara, who was still resting peacefully under the protection of the life crystal blessing, completely oblivious to the absolute carnage that had just transpired around her.

[Tactical threat eliminated. Scanning area for secondary entities...] Snow’s voice chimed in, returning to its standard, automated pacing. [Perimeter clear, Host. You have successfully unraveled the first layer of the localized anomaly.]

Kyle pushed himself back up, bracing his hands on his knees as he stared out into the dark, endless plains of Kraken. The battle was won, his stats were tested to their absolute limits, but the mystery of this planet—and the shadow of Vladimir’s apocalyptic army—was looming larger than ever.

The acrid stench of grey ash and charred ancient timber hung heavily in the freezing atmosphere of the plains. Kyle stood in the center of the devastation, his breath coming in ragged, visible plumes as the invisible devil scales of his passive Demon Scales worked to knit his torn muscle fibers back together. His HP was sitting at a precarious 150 out of 1000, and the continuous 15% life-force drain from his soul-bound companion felt like a slow, rhythmic leeching of his core.

”We can’t stay here,” Kyle muttered, his voice gravelly. He looked down at Elara, who remained entirely dead weight, her face peaceful under the absolute vitality protection of the 3-week life crystal blessing. ”The blast from that final Divergence Flame probably alerted everything within a ten-mile radius.”

[Host, I highly recommend immediate relocation,] Snow’s voice chimed inside his skull, shifting back into an advisory, tactical drone. [My localized geographical mapping has identified a small, semi-subterranean cave structure exactly 1.2 kilometers north-northwest. The cavern is sheltered by dense basalt formations, which will naturally mask your heat signature and demonic energy residue from roaming predators.]

”Good enough. Let’s move,” Kyle grunted.

He leaned down, carefully lifting Elara onto his shoulder once more. Even with his stamina completely restored by the deer’s emergency overdrive, his low hit points made every step feel incredibly heavy. He pushed through the thick, unnatural fog of the Kraken plains, maintaining a steady, alert pace until the massive jagged basalt pillars of the cave structure finally materialized through the haze.

The cavern was cramped, cold, and smelled faintly of wet stone, but it was secure. Kyle gently laid Elara down against the smooth interior wall, ensuring her tattered cloak was wrapped tightly around her. Sitting down on a flat rock opposite her, a sudden, aggressive rumble from his stomach shattered the silence. The intense physical and spiritual exertion of fighting four Nabuyak beasts had completely depleted his biological nutrients.

”Snow,” Kyle thought, leaning his head back against the cold cave wall. ”I need food. And not just for me—something that Elara can actually digest when she wakes up. A baseline human can’t eat the corrupted flesh of this planet without turning into a mutated anomaly. What’s viable nearby?”

[Scanning localized flora and low-tier fauna catalog...] Snow replied, a green grid overlaying Kyle’s vision. [Within a 300-meter radius of this cavern, there are dense clusters of *Kraken Blood-Root Tubers*. While heavily saturated with dark energy, they contain high caloric density. If you use your Dark Flames at exactly level 1 output, you can burn away 98% of the surface corruption, leaving behind a highly nutritious, starch-like paste consumable for both demons and baseline humans.]

Kyle nodded, preparing to push himself back to his feet to begin the harvest.

*’A truly pathetic suggestion,’* the Rootcrystal Deer’s telepathic voice suddenly echoed through Kyle’s mind, dripping with a smooth, condescending amusement that made a vein throb on his forehead. *’Feeding a high-tier witch and a demon successor on mud-soaked weeds? No wonder your evolution path is so remarkably slow, student.’*

Kyle froze, his eyes narrowing to razor slits as he stared at the runic insignia on the back of his left hand. ’If you have a better idea, parasite, speak up. Otherwise, stay out of my head.’

*’Look beneath the jagged basalt crags directly outside the entrance,’* the deer instructed smoothly, completely unbothered by his hostility. *’You will find colonies of *Lunar Mist Snails*. They feed exclusively on the subterranean condensation of Kraken’s twin moons. Their shells are lined with pure, uncorrupted mineral salts, and their flesh is completely devoid of dark energy. It is rich in raw, ambient mana. It will restore your physical body and jumpstart her burnt-out mana core far better than any scorched root.’*

Kyle didn’t immediately move. A cold, sudden realization settled in his chest, causing his posture to stiffen.

’Snow,’ Kyle called out internally, his mental voice sharp as a razor. ’Can that thing hear our conversations? Can it monitor everything we say to each other?’

[Negative, Host,] Snow’s response came instantly, absolute and unwavering. [The contract you formed with the entity is a soul pact—a deep metaphysical bond that merges your physical existence and baseline consciousness as life companions. However, the System is an artifact of entirely unclassified attributes and boundless, limitless powers. Its internal communication channels are completely isolated from your soul structure. The creature did not hear my suggestion; it simply predicted your survival intentions based on your biological urge for sustenance.]

Kyle exhaled a quiet breath, a wave of relief washing over him. The thought of a parasitic entity having access to the System’s menus or his direct tactical interactions with Snow was a vulnerability he couldn’t afford.

”Lunar Mist Snails it is,” Kyle muttered aloud.

He stood up, checking Elara’s pulse one last time before slipping out of the basalt cavern into the eerie, dark twilight of the plains. The air was dead silent, the toxic miasma swirling lazily around his boots as he tracked the perimeter of the rock formations.

Just as the deer had predicted, hidden deep within the damp, shadowed crevices of the basalt crags were clusters of large, luminescent snails. Their shells glowed with a faint, beautiful silver light, completely contrasting the ugly, dark nature of the rest of the planet. Kyle carefully harvested a dozen of them, placing them into a makeshift leather pouch.

As he turned to make his way back toward the cave, a faint, rhythmic clicking sound caught his attention. It wasn’t the sound of an apex predator hunting; it was the distinct, chaotic chatter of low-tier creatures.

Kyle’s curiosity was instantly piqued. Utilizing his *Shadow Walk*, he expended 100 Shadow Energy, his physical form dissolving into a fluid, incorporeal silhouette that blended perfectly with the long shadows cast by the jagged rocks. He glided silently toward the source of the noise, peer-scanning over the edge of a steep ridge.

Down in a hollow basin beneath the crags, a bizarre, small gathering was taking place. It was a chaotic assembly of Kraken’s lower-tier ecosystem—a cluster of translucent, glowing slimes, scurrying multi-legged insectoids, and small, horned imp-like creatures. They were gathered around a flickering fire made of burning purple moss, gesturing wildly.

Kyle crept closer, his passive *Omniguilbism Ability* instantly activating, translating the chaotic chittering, clicks, and guttural grunts into clear, fluent language within his mind.

”The trap failed! The apex was too strong!” a large, insectoid creature clicked its mandibles furiously, waving a crude, jagged spear. ”The Nabuyak broke through the trench lines! Half the vanguard was swallowed whole!”

”It shouldn’t have failed!” a glowing green slime gurgled, its gelatinous body rippling with agitation. ”We spent three cycles carving the runes into the ironwood stakes! The low-quality runes were supposed to disrupt its energy core!”

Kyle listened from the shadows, his brow furrowing in deep confusion. *These low-tier trash creatures were the ones responsible for the Nabuyak rampage earlier?* It made absolutely no sense to him. He scanned the gathering, but his internal sensors detected absolutely no strong auras among the entire group. They were all low-level fodder.

*Why would a group of weaklings intentionally hunt a terrifying, high-tier apex beast like the Nabuyak with weapons lined with low-quality, garbage runes?* Kyle wondered, his mind working through the tactical absurdity of it. *It’s just plain stupid. It’s absolute suicide. They didn’t have the damage output to even pierce its energetic shielding.*

”Silence your clicking!” a small, elderly imp-like creature barked, stepping toward the center of the moss fire. ”The vanguard did not die in vain. The Nabuyak was drawn to the clearing of the ancient tree, just as intended. And the omens were correct... the Great Force residing in the deep forest intervened.”

Kyle’s chest tightened slightly. *The Great Force?* At first, a surge of dark pride flared within his demonic core. He thought they were speaking about him—about his explosive execution of the Divergence Flames and his brutal Abyssal Talon axe kick that had cleared the pack.

”Yes! The ancient spirit of the silver horns!” the green slime gurgled with a strange, reverent awe. ”The elders spoke of its return. It crushed the apex matrix with a single breath! The great deer has awakened to purge the rot!”

Kyle’s eyes narrowed as the truth hit him. *They aren’t praising me at all. It’s the deer.*

He glanced down at the tattoo on his left hand. The realization sent a cold wave of suspicion through his thoughts. *Just how ancient is this spirit animal I’ve bound my soul to?* Snow had stated earlier that its aura suggested it had been around for at most a couple of lifetimes, but to these localized creatures, it was a mythological savior—a primordial force of nature.

”With the silver horns active, the prophecies will finally bear fruit,” the insectoid creature clicked, its tone dropping into something deeply solemn. ”The great corruption of Vladimir and the Shadow Lord can be reversed. The growth and restoration of pure life on planet Kraken is no longer a dream.”

Kyle’s breath caught in his throat.

’Growth and restoration of life on Kraken?’
