Triple X System

Kyle didn’t hesitate. Leveraging the 15% physical defense ignore and the 15% shadow affinity damage boost from his permanently infused right leg, he poured every single ounce of the remaining dark flames into his right limb. His leg burned with a mixture of black hellfire and deep purple abyssal energy.

He took a final, desperate leap off the shattering root beneath him.

”Go to hell!” Kyle roared, executing a high-speed flash kill maneuver enabled by his light combat skill.

He vanished from sight for a microsecond, reappearing directly above the blinded, thrashing Nabuyak. With all his strength, he delivered a devastating, flame-infused axe kick straight into the center of the giant burning red circle.

BOOM!

The 25% physical defense ignore allowed the abyssal essence to bite deep into the core of the energy entity, while the Divergence Flames exploded inside its central matrix. The combination was catastrophic. The Nabuyak let out one final, world-shattering shriek before its entire dark energy structure violently unraveled, exploding into a massive shockwave of harmless grey ash that coated the ruined clearing.

Kyle fell out of the sky, slamming hard into the dirt next to Elara. He lay there, his chest heaving, his body completely spent.

[HP: 110/1000]

[Demon Energy: 1700/2500]

[Shadow Energy: 850/1000]

”We... we did it,” Kyle rasped, his voice raw as the invisible devil scales worked overtime to patch his ruptured internal organs.

[Do not celebrate yet, Host,] Snow’s voice returned, her tone dropping into a state of absolute, chilling dread. [Look outside the rupture.]

Kyle forced his head to turn, his vision blurry as he looked past the remains of the shattered 32-meter-wide trunk. The explosion of the ancient tree had completely leveled the surrounding grove, extending their field of vision outward into the wider, desolate plains of Kraken.

The dust slowly settled, revealing the horrifying reality of the planet.

Standing just fifty meters away on the cracked, bleeding earth, illuminated by the twin moons of Kraken, was another massive, swirling vortex of dark energy. The burning red circle was identical, the horizontal black snake eyes staring back at them with the exact same ancient malice.

And right behind it, emerging from the dark fog of the plains, were three more.

A pack of Nabuyak beasts had surrounded the perimeter, their collective auras locking onto Kyle’s location.

Kyle’s eyes widened, a bitter, breathless laugh escaping his throat as he gripped his left hand, where the deer insignia remained completely still. They were completely out of options, their energy depleted, and the real fight had just begun.

Kyle stared at the four towering vortexes of sentient malice encircle the ruined perimeter, his breath coming out as a shallow, bloody wheeze. The collective weight of their matching black snake eyes felt like an iron vise clamping down on his skull. His right leg, permanently infused with the Abyssal Talon, twitched slightly from the aftershocks of the Divergence Flames, but the rest of his body was completely unyielding to his commands.

[Host, alert! The environmental dark energy density has amplified by 400%,] Snow’s voice sounded muffled, echoing inside his fading consciousness. [Your structural integrity is critically compromised. At 110 HP, a casual ambient strike from any of the approaching entities will trigger immediate soul fracture.]

Kyle let out a wet, raspy chuckle, pushing himself up onto his elbows with agonizing slowness. Next to him, Elara lay completely unconscious, her mana core burnt out from the light affinity spell she had used to buy him time. Her breathing was steady thanks to the life crystal’s passive protection, but she was dead weight.

He glanced down at the back of his left hand. The jet-black and crimson insignia of the horned deer sat there, pulsing with a slow, smug rhythm, completely unaffected by the apocalyptic tension vibrating through the atmosphere.

’Hey,’ Kyle growled internally, his mind focusing every ounce of his remaining Will stat into the soul contract. ’Are you just going to sit there and watch us get torn to pieces? We have a contract. Clause 2. If I die, your soul gets dragged straight into the abyss with mine.’

A light, smooth chuckle echoed from the depths of his consciousness, completely unbothered. *’A contract indeed, young demon. But the contract states I must intervene to preserve your existence—it does not state I must fight your battles for you. You plunged into the sky against my explicit warning. Why should I bail out an arrogant student?’*

’Because if you don’t, there won’t be a student left to feed your parasitic hunger!’ Kyle roared back in his mind, his teeth grinding. ’I know your tier. I know you’re hiding a massive reserve of vitality. You could restore my HP right now. You could expand my core if you wanted to. Do it!’

*’My, how demanding,’* the deer responded telepathically, its tone shifting to a chilling, razor-sharp edge. *’I could restore you to full health, yes. I could double your capacity in a heartbeat. But why should I grant a borrower absolute strength? You must earn the right to wield my essence. For now... I will provide the absolute bare minimum required to keep your heart beating. The rest of the blood is yours to spill.’*

Before Kyle could argue, a violent surge of icy, white-hot energy shot outward from the insignia on his hand, racing up his arm and slamming directly into his chest core.

**[SYSTEM ALERT: BEAST COMPANION ”ROOTCRYSTAL DEER” HAS ENGAGED EMERGENCE OVERDRIVE (BARE MINIMUM THRESHOLD).]**

**[HP RESTORED: 110/1000 ---> 450/1000]**

**[STAMINA FULLY RECOVERY APPLIED. COST: CONTINUOUS PASSIVE LIFE-FORCE DRAIN ENHANCED BY 15%.]**

It wasn’t a full recovery, and the heavy, parasite-like drain on his passive life force instantly made his skin turn a shade paler. But the agonizing fractures in his chest snapped back into place. His stamina reserves flashed a bright green. Kyle leaped back to his feet, a dark, vicious grin crossing his face as he looked at the four approaching apex predators.

”Four-hundred and fifty hit points,” Kyle muttered, wiping the dark blood from his chin. ”More than enough to raise some hell.”

The lead Nabuyak shifted, its massive energy vortex expanding as it slithered forward over the cracked earth, leaving a trail of decaying, blackened frost behind it. It recognized that Kyle was rejuvenated, and the black snake eyes flared with a deep, territorial hunger.

[Host, remember the tactical data from the first engagement,] Snow analyzed rapidly, throwing up an active combat interface in his view. [Physical attacks and shadow control are strictly useless against their shifting molecular state. However, they are bound by the physics of Kraken’s terrain. If you cannot harm their bodies with shadows, you must use your environment.]

’Got it,’ Kyle thought. He didn’t have enough Demon Energy to recklessly spam Dark Flames against four of these things—not with his current reserves at 1700. He had to be surgical.

The lead Nabuyak lunged, launching three separate spears of concentrated dark energy from its crimson circle.

”Shadow Walk!” Kyle barked, expending 100 Shadow Energy.

His body instantly dissolved into a fluid, incorporeal silhouette, slipping past the trajectory of the first two energy spears. The third spear clipped his shoulder, the sheer friction tearing through his invisible devil scales and drawing a line of dark blood.

**[HP: 390/1000]**

As Kyle materialized five meters to the left, he didn’t target the beast directly. Instead, he slammed his palms onto the earth, channeling a massive amount of his shadow reserves.

”Shadow Craft!”

Rather than creating weapons, Kyle utilized the shadows cast by the giant, collapsing skyscraper-sized branches of the ancient tree scattered across the plains. He wove the dark outlines under the debris, hardening the shadows into massive, dense wedges beneath the thousands of tons of fallen timber.

With a brutal twist of his wrists, he triggered *Shadow Bind* not on the beast, but on the environment. He snapped the shadow cords holding the massive tree limbs in place.

*CRUSH!*

A colossal avalanche of ancient, runic-inscribed wood came crashing down directly on top of the first two Nabuyak beasts. Because they were currently anchored to the planet’s physical surface to channel their tracking matrices, the sudden impact of thousands of tons of physical matter forcefully pinned their energy vortexes to the earth. They let out muffled, psychic screeches, thrashing violently beneath the crushing weight of the ancient debris.

”Two down temporarily!” Kyle yelled.

But the remaining two Nabuyaks were already moving. Operating with a pack mentality, they flank-rushed him from both sides, their burning red circles glowing to maximum capacity as they prepared a synchronized, wide-range dark energy discharge that would completely incinerate the clearing.

[Warning! High-density energy compression detected! Evacuation route: Impossible!] Snow warned.

”I don’t need an evacuation route,” Kyle snarled.

He reached into his system functions, his eyes locked onto his XXX points. He had 10,000 points sitting idle.

”System Shop! Purchase Stamina Regeneration!” Kyle commanded, prepping his physical body for the ultimate strain. He didn’t need the stamina right now, but he needed the biological buffer to survive the next spell.

Kyle thrust both hands outward, facing the two approaching apex beasts. He completely bypassed his palms, channeling the unholy fire directly from his demonic core.

”Dark Flames: Divergence!”

**[Demon Energy Expended: 400 (200 per path)]**

**[Demon Energy Remaining: 1300/2500]**

The unholy, light-eating black flames exploded from his body in two opposite, spiraling torrents of raw destruction. The hellfire tore through the air, clashing directly with the twin dark energy discharges unleashed by the Nabuyaks. The collision created a localized atmospheric vacuum, the black flames violently feeding on the dark energy particles, causing massive, crackling explosions that shook the very tectonic plates of Kraken.

The heat feedback was immense. Kyle’s arms blistered, the invisible devil scales cracking under the extreme thermal pressure as he forced the Divergence Flames to maintain their structural integrity.

**[HP: 280/1000]**

”Keep pushing!” Kyle roared, his willpower screaming against the strain.

Under the sheer force of his 245 Will stat, the black flames finally pierced through the core of the third Nabuyak’s crimson circle. The beast wailed, its energy matrix destabilizing before violently detonating into a cloud of grey ash.

However, the fourth Nabuyak managed to swerve past the secondary flame torrent. Utilizing its absolute speed, it crossed the distance in a microsecond, appearing right in front of Kyle’s face. The black snake eyes stared down at him with an expression of triumphant malice, its energy vortex forming a razor-sharp blade of solid corruption aimed directly at his neck.

Kyle’s left hand burned. *’Use the talon, idiot,’* the deer’s voice whispered mockingly.

Kyle’s right leg, infused with abyssal essence, moved with the autonomous speed of the *Abyssal Reflex* proc.

He didn’t try to kick the beast’s body. Instead, he slammed his right heel straight into the shadow cast by the oncoming energy blade. Because his right limb possessed a permanent +15% shadow affinity damage modifier and a passive 25% physical defense ignore, the sheer conceptual force of his abyssal leg shattered the localized spatial coordinates of the attack.

*CRACK!*

The blade of solid corruption shattered into harmless sparks against his invisible devil scales.

”My turn,” Kyle hissed.

At point-blank range, Kyle utilized his *Light Combat Skill*, triggering his final *Flash Kill* charge. He vanished into a streak of pure kinetic motion, reappearing directly above the fourth Nabuyak’s central matrix.

He didn’t just summon dark flames into his palms; he focused the residual energy of the *Nightshade Stitcher* title, increasing the corruption potency of his shadow affinity by 20%. He slammed his right leg down in a brutal, vertical axe kick, burying his flame-wrapped Abyssal Talon straight through the center of the burning red circle.

*BOOM!*
