Three Towers Game

Chapter 1488: Chapter 478: Fierce Battle with the Gamer

Wen Xishu is crazily ascending the levels.

The interval between the elevator starts gets shorter and shorter, which means Wen Xishu is taking less and less time to clear each level.

And Wen Xishu is not just speedrunning through each level.

He is almost speedrunning while maintaining flawless execution and uncovering hidden endings.

This scene left Kelly stunned. It also stunned everyone who ever entered the Infinite Building and became an NPC from a player.

Wen Xishu called out their names and brought them hope.

No one had ever done this before.

As Wen Xishu’s level went from over forty to over fifty... Kelly’s hands were trembling with excitement.

And when Wen Xishu crossed from fifty levels to sixty levels, and it took even less time than the range from forty to fifty...

She felt as if her blood was boiling.

No one can stop Wen Xishu. The number of various items in his hands is increasing, and the stockpile of elixirs has reached a staggering level.

His weapons had already upgraded to Dark Gold Level.

When Wen Xishu broke through sixty-nine layers and reached seventy layers, compared to the beginning on the first level, he was already fully equipped with end-game gear, wearing a handsome set of armor with halo effects, even with exaggerated wings on his back.

And when Wen Xishu broke through from the seventy-ninth layer to the eightieth layer... he achieved an unprecedented feat.

This achievement even excited Kelly herself.

Above dark gold weapons, there are higher origin weapons.

The guns in Wen Xishu’s hands were already emitting a seven-colored glow.

Kelly was amazed:

”Joining this game... it won’t trap me. Actually, I’d be quite willing to guest-star as an NPC in the game. I couldn’t make weapons like this in reality.”

Wen Xishu’s current firearms, auto headshot, armor-piercing through walls, infinite bullets, attached Max Life Value attack...

It was simply a hack.

Generally speaking, at this level, the game loses all fun.

But Wen Xishu knows very well that the final boss, the gamer, must be an ultimate foe with absurd stats and mechanics.

Wen Xishu wasn’t careless.

...

...

Ninety-nine layers.

Only one layer remains before meeting the gamer version of Lu Mingxuan. Wen Xishu has already created multiple records in the game.

But on this level, Wen Xishu didn’t encounter combat, puzzles, stealth, or quizzes. The entire scene was like an office, with only a contract laid on the huge desk.

This was a level Wen Xishu had never experienced; at least in his memory, the last time he was on level 99, it was to challenge a strengthened version of himself.

Possessing stronger equipment than his own, a higher level, stronger attributes.

This is also why Wen Xishu has always kept the power potions.

But this time, there was no combat. The entire level was tranquil.

Wen Xishu remained calm, picked up the contract, and glanced at it briefly.

[You are so far the highest-scoring player in this game, in terms of your clearance skill rating, clearance speed rating, NPC popularity rating, and even your equipment weapon rating, all reached historical highs. I like to make friends with people through games, and the higher one’s game scores, the more I see that they understand me.

Wen Xishu, you are my dear friend. Do you want to become the ”Eternal Game Administrator”? You will gain freedom, you will have the right to freely enter and exit the Infinite Building, and have the authority to create and modify each level. I will grant you eternity, you will no longer experience death. You will, like me, become a part of the rules.]

Quite tempting.

If you compromise here, it is very likely to trigger an ending as well.

But after experiencing the Realm of Hundred Selves, Wen Xishu has long been immune to such choices; he won’t have a shred of confusion or hesitation.

[You should know that becoming an administrator is much better than being defeated by me and becoming a keeper of a certain level. I regret your choice.]

Wen Xishu ignored this sentence.

As the contract was torn apart, the elevator appeared again.

Kelly had shifted from excitement, elation, and tension to a sort of fear.

She certainly didn’t know what Wen Xishu was going to face; this kind of fear came from an expectation piled to the extreme, leading to a fear of gain and loss.

”I... we can do it, right?”

”I... I heard that some games have several endings. You... you must keep going!”

Kelly started to stutter when speaking.

”The weapon... can’t be further upgraded. I’m afraid at this point, an enhancement failure might occur. This is already the highest enhancement level weapon I have made. If it fails... I can’t bear the risk.”

Wen Xishu nodded:

”Don’t be nervous...”

Wen Xishu wanted to say something, but he thought, saying more would be like setting a flag, and it’s better not to do such superstitious things.

He didn’t have absolute certainty. But he has already played the game to its utmost limit.

”The game must have a possibility of being cleared. This is the greatest fairness between the designer and the player. If a game is designed to be unbeatable, then the game itself loses its meaning.”

This is what Wen Xishu saw in the Infinite Building; he believes one thing, even if Lu Mingxuan was ”educated,” he also believes Lu Mingxuan is an excellent game designer and wouldn’t make the boss invincible setting.

Now Wen Xishu has achieved the game’s limits in terms of equipment, level, and various numeric values.

Next, as long as he doesn’t make mistakes during the battle, there’s a possibility of clearance.

But just as the elevator doors were about to open, and the final boss battle was about to start...

Time suddenly stopped, or to be precise, it wasn’t time that stopped, but the entire game entered a paused state.
