Three Towers Game

Chapter 1469: Chapter 471: Gamer Dialogue_3

Guard B:

”He hasn’t shown up yet, let’s change our route.”

The stationary sentinel yawned: ”Shifts are so boring... hopefully he comes up with something new this time. But that’s impossible, right?”

Guard C:

”Very unlikely, right? We’re watching the place he’ll definitely go to, and we can easily take him down.”

”He’s encountered us three times, and we’ve taken him down all three times, hehe.”

Guard D:

”Stealth is just a joke; we’ve got a ninety-seven percent elimination rate.”

Wen Xishu listened silently.

It seems that the fourth level isn’t always this same checkpoint.

It’s a game with strong randomness.

The first level of this game might be the pixel forest, but it could also be another setting.

The fourth level, this time it’s the stealth in the huge engine room, but last time it might have been another stealth scene.

Wen Xishu kept his composure.

”They take pleasure in taking me down, different from the NPCs I defeated earlier.”

”And I’ve died here before... considering this, the difficulty of this level is quite over the top, why?”

Wen Xishu thought silently, quickly finding the answer within himself.

If the guards have their own will, or rather... a part of the players’ will, then the guards fully know how to guard.

After all, players need to shut down three servers. All it takes is to lay in wait. The previous levels make players think this is just a game.

But in reality, it’s not purely a game.

In the game, guards patrol, but in reality, if guards know someone is coming, they will all concentrate within a certain server range, waiting for the inevitable player appearance.

In this situation, how to break the pattern?

Wen Xishu thought silently.

”The victory condition of the game — shut down three golden cabinet servers.”

”This almost certainly is a trap. So my only option is to find the method to complete the hidden task; perhaps it’s my only breakthrough.”

”Wait, did I think of this in previous attempts? If in previous rounds I also thought of this...”

”Then would the guards be at the hidden task location, waiting for me?”

Wen Xishu felt a bit confused.

Every level made him feel not too difficult, but not exactly easy either.

If the difficulty keeps increasing, it’s hard to imagine how over-the-top it would be at dozens of levels.

”Calm down.”

Wen Xishu quietly suggested to himself. He began to act.

He decided to temporarily aim to evade the guards, rather than shutting down servers.

Wen Xishu’s current movement speed is very slow, but he’s not anxious at all.

Stealth reduces movement speed by fifty percent, but Wen Xishu is someone who can wait patiently.

He simply let himself forget the ”goal,” and instead probed the entire engine room as if aimlessly.

It really is different from previous rounds.

Perhaps due to the Evil Land People’s traits, he seems destined to break certain patterns people hold.

Wen Xishu also found a green computer in this engine room.

It indeed isn’t as eye-catching as the glowing golden cabinet, nor does it appear as the objective. And it doesn’t emit the special aura like a purple server, which makes that server seem like some hidden task.

In comparison, the one Wen Xishu saw appeared quite ordinary, emitting green light, making it seem extremely mundane, considering many servers here emit either blue or green light.

But the one Wen Xishu discovered had a peculiar message on its monitor.

”The game must have a possibility of completion, this is the greatest fairness between designer and player; if a game is designed to be unbeatable, then the game itself loses its meaning.”

This message, along with some binary numbers appearing on other screens, seemed out of place.

It occasionally flickered, like a stubborn yet deeply hidden thought.

Wen Xishu decided to touch this computer.

He pressed enter.

Sure enough, it quickly generated a special code.

”An impatient person cannot defeat me, hello, congratulations on seeing this message. But considering you might have already fallen into a loop, you might fail... so, well, I can only congratulate you on ’still’ being able to see this message.”

”I am the Gamer, or you may call me the benevolent personality of the Gamer. If you want to accept all my information, you’re destined to die here, but no worries, I’ll appear on another computer next time.”

”So, are you ready? Are you sure you possess the extraordinary perception to break the loop?”

Wen Xishu’s heart raced; he faintly sensed that he encountered a crucial node.

”This is about... using a restart to gain critical information, isn’t it?”

It’s indeed an extremely important decision.
