Three Towers Game

Chapter 1478: Chapter 474: Gamer’s Hidden Stage 3

”When did he become one of us? I don’t want to deal with this guy anymore, I always feel like... he can bend the trajectory.”

The guards’ voices grew smaller and more distant.

Wen Xishu was defeated once again.

...

...

Endless Skyscraper, first floor.

”You don’t look like someone who...” The receptionist hadn’t finished speaking.

But Wen Xishu was already smiling as he said:

”Don’t look like someone who likes to use violence or brute force to solve problems, right?”

”Actually, I’m the type who’s secretly kinda cute in contrast.”

The receptionist was briefly stunned.

Wen Xishu patted the receptionist on the shoulder and entered the elevator with a smile.

This time, he picked up the gun again.

Guns were still very useful.

After dying again, Wen Xishu’s memory had clearly recovered a portion. As the déjà vu intensified, he genuinely felt that he had already spent many days in this Skyscraper.

Failed many times.

And even lost part of his memory, but with just a bit of stimulation, he could recall it.

First stage, Pixel Forest.

This time Wen Xishu changed his route, circling directly to the back of the Handsome goblin.

”Don’t rush it, you got no-hit by me in the last two runs. Don’t rush to flame me, and don’t rush to be disappointed. I can remember now.”

”Times have changed, you don’t have to hide either. Just like last run, let me pop your head.”

”I need Kelly to help me enhance my gear.”

Wen Xishu calmly killed the Handsome goblin.

”...How did you remember Kelly in advance? You really can recall it?”

Wen Xishu shook his head:

”Still missing a bit, but not much. See you later, probably for the last time later.”

From here on out, Wen Xishu moved like he had awakened his memories.

He was so skilled it was frightening.

”Hi, Kelly, same as last run, go all out, but don’t give me extra. I’m guessing I still need to quick-die once later.”

Kelly had already been shocked not long ago, and now she was shocked again.

”Mirror bro, don’t flame me, I’m not a dumbass. Just take the hits properly, drop the mirror shards for me. I’ll speedrun this, don’t waste my time.”

”Long, we meet again. Thanks for always finishing the facial expression animation so diligently every time. Thanks, I’m aiming for the head, it doesn’t hurt, fast death, rest in peace.”

”This escape room again, and you chasing me again, you idiot. Next time let me be the one chasing you, okay?”

”Parkour’s way too familiar, I could run a hundred of these stages and never screw up.”

”Kelly, didn’t I have a silencer affix last run? Don’t slack off, or I won’t take you with me when I leave the building.”

Wen Xishu remembered.

Dying again really did make Wen Xishu remember.

But most of the time he still needed the scene to trigger his memory.

As for the top floor, that ’final boss’, Wen Xishu already had some vague impression, but it still wasn’t enough.

So very quickly, Wen Xishu charged ahead again and reached the Stealth machine room.

This time, the Stealth Level was on the fourteenth floor. Same as last time, Wen Xishu killed all the guards.

Took only half the time of the previous run.

[We meet again... All right, you’re unbelievably fast. At this point I can almost be sure: you’re the one I’ve been waiting for. But have you recalled everything about ’me’?]

[Are you ready to receive the full story of my past?]

[The Educator lineup is: Gamer, Judge, Cosmetic Surgery Family, architect, banker, scientist, doctor... These people most likely all come from under some constellation. But they can be brainwashed by the Educator and then betray the constellation.]

[I can’t tell you more. Have you remembered everything?]

”No. Oh right, if I get turned into a sieve by gunfire, I’m not getting any more achievements out of it, right?” Wen Xishu typed, triggering the alarm again.

[No.]

”Okay, this time I choose suicide. See you next run.”

[You’re not afraid of running out of death counts? Dying lightly might turn you into a slave.]

”I’m confident in myself, I’m not that trash.”

Bang.

Wen Xishu killed himself.

”Didn’t think I’d live to see this...” Guard A.

”We broke his mental state, hahaha. He just straight-up gave up. First time I’ve seen a Challenger commit suicide.” Guard B.

”No, but he killed everyone, so why does he run into this problem every time? He’s not trying to deliberately join us, is he?”

The guards’ voices gradually faded into a blur.

...

...

”I know my choice’s kind of a contradiction. I like using power to solve problems. My super intelligence tells me I need to use super strength now.”

”Handsome goblin, I know you’re confused, but hold the confusion for now and quietly drop Gold Coin.”

”My stupid Kelly, this is my last run.”

”Long, you’re a man of your word. Thanks for doing your facial expression first instead of hitting me first.”

”Ah Mirror, even though you showed up after Long this time, you’re still so... trash. Don’t worry, this is the last time I’ll taunt you.”

Once again, Wen Xishu felt like he’d found the vibe of being a Destructive.

He could roughly feel the thrill a Destructive gets.

He was too skilled. This time, he had completely recalled everything. It only took three runs—or rather, only three rounds of enhancement—for Wen Xishu’s déjà vu to be enough to bring back his memories.

”Got it all back. Every floor, I remember them all.”

Stage twenty-two, Stealth Level, machine room.

Wen Xishu’s era had changed; he’d already upgraded to dark-gold. His affixes now included an auto-lock-on aim function, and he could also spawn a taunting doll at another position the instant he fired, to mess up enemy fire.

His stealth difficulty now was so low it was like all the enemies were Blind.

Bang!

Pointing his gun at Guard A’s head, Wen Xishu said:

”Every damn time you’re the one who talks the most. You think me dying to you means you’re strong?”

”It’s just plot requirements.”

Wen Xishu vented his anger by dumping over a dozen shots into Guard A, then did the same to Guard B and Guard C.

He had also stockpiled forty bottles of strength potion.

Again, Wen Xishu found that mainframe.

”All right, time to tell me the truth. I remember now, the top floor is the real you, the guy with totally busted stats.”

”He can also summon people from my memories to fight me. He should have several phases, but I only pushed him to phase two before the Albert and Sagittarius from my memories teamed up and one-shot me. Even a theatrical release wouldn’t dare write it like this—what kind of monster needs those two teaming up with ultimates to kill?”

”I have to go for mind games. For someone with overwhelming power but a fragile heart, this strat never fails.”

”I can’t let him summon the entities I consider invincible in my heart. That’s way too cheat-y.”

[Unbelievable. You’re even more gifted than I imagined. You’re, frankly, extremely impressive. You’re the one I’ve been waiting for. Now, I’ll tell you my past.]

[This time, you won’t trigger an alarm. You’ll enter a special tier.]

A whirlpool suddenly appeared on the green computer screen.

[Enter hidden level? Yes / No.]

Wen Xishu hadn’t expected the past to be shown like this. Without thinking too much, he selected ”Enter”.

The massive green light flashed, swallowing Wen Xishu’s figure. Yet it was as if nothing had happened in the machine room.

(I’ll get up later to check, I have to sleep first. My cowardly wife went back to her hometown to spend New Year’s these days. If she comes back in the afternoon, then there’ll be nothing more today.)
