Three Towers Game

Chapter 1479: Chapter 475: Reality and Games

[Press rt to receive diagnostic results.]

When the figure was swallowed by the green light, Wen Xishu felt as if his consciousness had been struck by a train the next second.

Then, he slowly regained consciousness.

Opening his eyes, what came into Wen Xishu’s view was a huge projector screen, on the screen, a child around seven or eight years old with his head bowed, precise instruments, and a doctor’s face.

There was also a strange prompt.

[Press rt to receive diagnostic results]

Only then did Wen Xishu understand that this was a controller button.

He suddenly realized that he was in a pitch-black environment, with a black sofa behind him, and he held a game controller in his hand.

rt is the right trigger button on the game controller.

Wen Xishu hadn’t expected that he was actually playing a game.

On the other side... there was another equally huge screen.

Outside that giant screen, there was also a figure in black, holding a controller, playing another game.

That game made Wen Xishu feel extremely familiar.

Because the protagonist in the game was himself.

Someone was controlling Wen Xishu with a controller, to defeat a handsome-looking goblin, using a Tachi.

”Who... who are you?” Wen Xishu asked in surprise.

There was no answer.

That person continued to press the controller, Wen Xishu felt that they weren’t far apart, both were playing games in the same space.

It seemed like a private room in an arcade.

But it was too dark... the screen was large and bright, yet the light seemed to be absorbed by something.

So much so that Wen Xishu couldn’t see that person’s face, under their control, the Wen Xishu on the screen could neatly execute an Iaido Slash.

That was a very stylish move in Tachi techniques.

[x, no response was detected within the operation time, failure determined.]

The prompt on his screen suddenly shifted Wen Xishu’s attention.

His attention had been fixed on the black figure next to him, causing him to delay pressing the rt key.

Thus, failure was determined.

But fortunately, this misoperation wasn’t fatal.

A dialogue appeared on the screen.

”He’s a special child, you see, he has Asperger’s syndrome that makes him very introverted.”

The parents looked somewhat worried:

”What kind of condition is that?”

”Actually, it’s not really a condition; it’s... how shall I say, it makes Lu Mingxuan highly sensitive to rules, passionate about structurally clear board games, yet unable to understand the fuzzy boundaries in peer social interactions, and it results in severe social-interaction challenges. Simply put, he finds it hard to make friends.”

The doctor explained.

Soon, the screen began to darken. This indicated that this segment was over, and the next segment was starting.

Wen Xishu took this opportunity to see that the person controlling ’himself’ had already let ’himself’ start conversing with Kelly.

However, the so-called conversation was entirely comprised of various ’dialogue box’ options.

The game quickly progressed to the next phase.

Seven.

The two characters appeared like a title and slowly faded away, revealing the actual scene as the blackness receded.

During recess in primary school, Lu Mingxuan brought a meticulously designed card game called , with precise and balanced rules.

Wen Xishu needed to control Lu Mingxuan in the game, inviting other children to join in playing this game.

[Mission: Find at least one person to play the game with you.]

He quickly found several NPCs in the classroom. Wen Xishu needed to choose an opening line, but the options were extremely limited, such as ”Would you like to play a game with me?” or ”I have a game here, would you like to play it with me?” These simple and straightforward dialogues.

Clearly, the protagonist he was controlling, ”Lu Mingxuan,” wasn’t good at talking.

Girl 1:

”But I don’t like playing this.”

Girl 2:

”Looks too complicated.”

Girl 3:

”We’re not friends.”

Girl 4:

”Cat’s cradle is a hundred times more fun than this.”

Boy 1:

”What is this... I can’t read.”

Boy 2:

”Boring, let’s play soccer instead.”

Boy 3:

”Only girls play this.”

[Mission failed. You failed to invite anyone to play the game. Gamer building progress: 35%.]

[Continue/End]

Wen Xishu dare not choose to end; his intuition told him that choosing to end would truly end, and the game might present a very bad ending.

This ending might possibly affect his outcome in the Infinite Building.

Wen Xishu chose to continue.

On the screen, Lu Mingxuan sat alone at the desk, playing all roles by himself, his left hand playing against his right hand.

Surrounded by the bustling noise of classmates.

It didn’t unlike what Wen Xishu had experienced before, which was ridicule or mockery.

It was just... pure noise, sounding like the noise of a bustling city after a few drinks; it made a person stand out as different from the surroundings.

[Unlocked seven-year-old ending: The lonely gamer.]

The game continued.

On the screen, the words nine years old appeared.

[Mission: Receive positive feedback and invite players into your building.]

At nine, his parents gave him his first console.

He built an infinitely tall tower in , with different game scenarios on each floor.

Wen Xishu was stunned by this scene, he hadn’t expected the child to have such an enormous gaming experience.

What surprised Wen Xishu the most was that Lu Mingxuan’s parents actually loved him. They weren’t disappointed by Lu Mingxuan’s uniqueness.

Instead, since their child liked games and found it difficult to make friends, they encouraged him to play more games, to learn how to make friends through gaming.
