Three Towers Game

Chapter 46: Chapter 39: The Orient and the Parrot

The Bunker Security Bureau indeed went to great lengths.

To team up with Wen Xishu, one must first enter the rest area, which means entering the Deceit Tower an hour later.

Entering the Deceit Tower and matching to the same level has a probability of one in seven, and matching to the same area is even lower. In other words, out of maybe hundreds of people, only one might successfully match with Wen Xishu. Moreover, this requires calculating Wen Xishu’s tower entry time.

And if Wen Xishu chooses to breach the contract and not team up with others, these people may end up in jeopardy for nothing.

Even when teaming up with these people... whether they can observe Wen Xishu’s behavior, find clues about Wen Chaohua, and if found, whether they can bring them back alive...

all remain unknowns.

Under such circumstances, the Bunker Security Bureau is still willing to deploy a large human force into the Deceit Tower, spending a significant amount on supplies for some criminals, bottom-tier villains, and the poor, essentially buying lives to maximize the possibility of teaming up with Wen Xishu.

Wen Xishu merely simulated it briefly and realized how terrifying the cost was.

At the same time, he was acutely aware that with such expensive costs, if he didn’t cooperate, the Security Bureau would have many excuses to make things difficult for him.

He hadn’t yet shown enough value for Albert to protect him at all costs.

So after much thought, Wen Xishu raised his hand, not sure how the Bunker Security Bureau would ensure he teamed up with someone.

But ultimately, to avoid certain troubles, he decided to team up for this action.

After all, for Wen Xishu, teaming up wasn’t unacceptable.

So Wen Xishu raised his hand, even pacing around slightly, and said:

”On the sixth level, is there anyone else who received the mission ’Fallen Parrot’? How about teaming up? I feel like this is a mission suitable for teaming up.”

This time, the place Wen Xishu was heading was no longer a Western-resided place like Mo’en City.

The area he was about to go to was a place called Jiangcheng.

Judging by the name, it probably corresponded to some city in his country from his previous life.

This surprised and delighted Wen Xishu.

Because he really wanted to eat some hometown dishes. However, the task description made him feel somewhat ambiguous; he couldn’t understand the content of the task description at all this time.

This made him think that maybe teaming up would allow collective brainstorming?

The task description was as follows.

[The parrot cage is a very interesting cage. It doesn’t look like a cage, more like a perch. It doesn’t know what the world is like, assuming all perches are the same.

Other birds also don’t know that living in such a perch is like this. Just as they don’t know, parrots can fall to their deaths.

Please go to the parrot cage in Jiangcheng and find at least one polluted item. Maybe you can change its fate, or maybe you’ll die inside?

Meanwhile, we also expect you to find all the polluted items.]

The place where the task was set was Jiangcheng.

Wen Xishu didn’t know what kind of place Jiangcheng was. Did everyone there love raising birds? The mission target this time was actually non-human?

If it wasn’t birds but some kind of textual metaphor, it would be even more incomprehensible because the sixth level’s task description seemed more cryptic than the twenty-first level’s...

If that’s the case, Wen Xishu could only explain it as an Eastern trait.

Probably the Chinese have an innate fear of straightforward speech, because in ancient times, the circumstances often made it so people ”couldn’t speak out.” But everyone loved to speak, so the practice of hinting and insinuating became common. But this was by no means derogatory.

Because the ability to master this to a fine art, turning it into a literary form and an aesthetic delight, belongs only to this great nation of Kyushu.

In terms of wordplay, the variety and depth of interpretation that Chinese can achieve are undoubtedly the world’s best.

”I want to see what kind of parrot you are.”

Wen Xishu became interested.

And gradually, a few people gathered around him.

”Wow, hey there, hello, hello～ my name is Kane. Brother, we truly have some fate, as we are on the same mission.”

Five people.

Wen Xishu did not expect there to be five people appearing here. He knew he was unlucky but did not expect to be this unlucky.

Acceptance of teaming up and not hiding his mission location was specifically instructed by Liu Jinsen.

Wen Xishu did as told. Though he outwardly accepted teaming up and did not resist, he internally thought, no way I am so unlucky, in the seven levels, numerous areas, that someone happens to be in the same level and area as me, right?

Wen Xishu clearly underestimated his luck.

The detailed roll of the dice listing the ”coincident options” seemed to be a hint.

Five people approached Wen Xishu, making a team of six including Wen Xishu.

Of course, it’s possible there may be seven, eight, or nine people but others didn’t want to team up.

Wen Xishu sensed that with the Three Towers Academy also announcing new credit reward mechanisms, the Bunker Security Bureau and Civil Affairs Bureau might also increase their efforts to encourage people to explore the Deceit Tower.

It probably wouldn’t be long before seeing the Celestial Ladder List of the Deceit Tower, and by then, it might be possible to see which highest level Wen Chaohua reached.

Wen Xishu shook hands with Kane:

”My name is...”

He hesitated for a moment, naturally unwilling to reveal his name. But first, he thought there must be spies who knew his identity.

Second, once inside the Three Towers game, his ID might be exposed, so Wen Xishu decided to be candid and said:

”My name is Wen Xishu.”

His voice was light, but in the next instant, everyone around was frozen for a second or two.

”You... what did you say your name was?” The person speaking had an Indian accent, and his expression convinced Wen Xishu that he was definitely not a spy.

But Wen Xishu also believed this Indian man was no good because there were no stereotypical curry smells on him, but another kind of stereotypical smell...

the stench of animal feces.

One of the five was a woman. The Indian man had a gaze fixed on the woman like a predator eyeing its prey.

Wen Xishu suddenly thought of many unbelievable stories about the Ah San race.

Why would a human have the stench of animal feces?

Wen Xishu said:

”Just the same name, don’t mind it.”

This relaxed the people around quite a bit, although some were a little disappointed.

These people did not doubt Wen Xishu’s same name claim. In fact, Wen Xishu’s name had become quite famous under Sha Ruijing’s team operations.

So famous it was heading towards deification.

Among the bottom-tier people, some had religious and superstitious beliefs. They thought the name Wen Xishu could protect them.

Thus, some who recently heard of Wen Xishu’s deeds decided to change their names by adding a symbol. If they could return from the Deceit Tower and meet the guide to complete registration, the Bunker would probably have a bunch of Wen Xishu’s.

Like how Daniel Wu had branches all over the world in his previous life.

Another reason these people had little doubt was that they didn’t expect Wen Xishu to appear at such a low level. This was their stereotype.

So after Wen Xishu mentioned having the same name, there wasn’t much reaction. Some even seemed a bit disappointed, thinking if it were really that Wen Xishu from the Bunker, they would have considered themselves lucky.

The Indian man said:

”My name is Sita. Friend, I used to be a zookeeper. Hehehe, I have been in the fourth level’s functional area, because... I was caught for doing some loving things to animals.”

”What about you? Why did you come to the Deceit Tower?”

Did some... loving things to animals.

Wen Xishu forced a smile.

He wasn’t surprised by the man’s self-introduction and crime, what surprised him was that, judging from the calm reactions of those around—

there wasn’t a single good person here, all were villains. Each seemed to have unique skills.
