Three Towers Game

Chapter 39: Chapter 32 Want to Fry Fish

Wen Xishu had always wanted to figure out what the people in the Three-Tower World had encountered.

Was this encounter related to the formation of the Bunker later on?

Thinking from the source to solve problems was his habit.

Of course, the answer to this question was obviously not hidden in this ”Slaughter Tower Monster Illustrated Guide.”

However, through these monsters, he might also grasp some clues.

The appearance of the monsters was actually mostly similar to humans.

When the apocalypse came, the Three-Tower World, which was originally the vast world of humans, was filled with humans turned into monsters.

These monsters were classified into ”Normal Type,” ”Rare Type,” ”Elite,” ”Leader,” and ”Dominant.”

The illustrated guide was distributed by levels, describing monsters from the first floor to over thirty floors.

Most were normal types. Rare types were relatively few.

When it came to leaders and dominants, these were basically accompanied by vague words like ”rumored,” ”perhaps,” ”speculated,” or ”guessed.”

As Wen Xishu flipped through the illustrated guide, he found that although most monsters were humanoid, their details were indeed unpredictable.

Some monsters were very grotesque, with tentacles, tumors, and eyes all over their bodies.

But some monsters were entirely of a different style, like two completely different works of art... some monsters were even very beautiful.

For example—Wen Xishu actually saw a girl with animal ears.

He continued to flip through the pages, and soon, his hand stopped, his expression slightly changed.

After seeing the Mental Barrage, Wen Xishu restrained his emotions very much.

Especially after discovering the range of the strange sequence covered the entire academy, he hinted to himself to stay calm.

At this moment, Wen Xishu’s heart fluctuated slightly.

Because he saw a familiar person.

Slaughter Tower Leader, Sewn-Faced Man.

Many Slaughter Tower monsters would start fighting without any provocation, so their names were not as well known as those in Desire Tower or Deceit Tower.

So many people could only name monsters based on their characteristics.

For example, the Sewn-Faced Man was actually Jack, whom Wen Xishu knew well.

Here, he had to be called Slaughter Jack.

Wen Xishu did not expect that Slaughter Jack was actually a leader level.

Leader level was already a very powerful existence, requiring the academy’s highest level of combat power and certain strategies to possibly defeat a leader.

And from the content in the illustrated guide...

Slaughter Jack had not been conquered.

Wen Xishu was not very interested in Jack and Jennifer, but he found that there were some products related to the strange sequence in the recorders’ description of the monsters.

The description was as follows:

[As everyone knows, leader-level monsters often possess some special powers.]

[These powers are very likely from the Deceit Tower. The biggest trouble with the Sewn-Faced Man is not his terrifying Slaughter Sequence in the first phase, the Flesh Stripping.]

[The truly terrifying part is that if he gets angry, he will enter the second phase, and many strange summons will appear around him.]

[It’s as if these grievances from his mind have taken a physical form, becoming his weapons of attack or shields of defense.]

[According to a third-year student of Slaughter Tower Academy, Charles, they once saw a large number of black texts appear around the Sewn-Faced Man from a distance. These texts cursed their enemies.]

[And the most terrifying part is that these texts seem to have some power to alter fate. The curses are fulfilled, and those who opposed the Sewn-Faced Man kept dying.]

[We did not obtain any information about this sequence from the guide.]

[But it can be guessed that this strange sequence might be numbered within the top fifty!]

[As for the Sewn-Faced Man’s third phase, unfortunately, we do not know. Perhaps it is related to the girl behind him. The second phase of the Sewn-Faced Man is already terrifying enough that we gave up further investigation.]

[Although human exploration of the Slaughter Tower has long surpassed the twenty-first floor... almost every floor still has a large number of monsters, among which are some leader-level enemies.]

[Avoiding these enemies and killing enough normal types can also enter the next floor.]

[But essentially, this is skirting the problem, and we do not know if this evasion might one day prevent us from coping with certain sudden situations.]

[But my dear students, if you see this, I would still advise you not to lightly provoke a leader.]

Wen Xishu did not expect that Slaughter Jack was a monster that no humans had conquered so far.

Moreover, according to the book’s description, such monsters were not few in number.

Although Albert had advanced to the ninety-sixth floor, this only meant that he could come to this floor, not that he could defeat all the monsters in the previous ninety-five floors.

Each floor contained countless areas, and there were many Slaughter Tower monsters that even Albert had never known.

Of course, these were not Wen Xishu’s main concerns.

Wen Xishu’s biggest gain this time was probably the other abilities of the Strange Sequence 37·Mental Barrage.

Now he could confirm that this ability was really freakish. It seemed that in the later stages, reaching the level of Slaughter Jack, it already possessed certain causal effects.

”It seems this is indeed a big gift... but there is one thing I really care about.”

”Can Jack still use this power now?”

According to the book, this was Jack’s second phase.

In other words, from Jack’s perspective, the power of Strange Sequence 37·Mental Barrage was greater than Slaughter Sequence·Flesh Stripping.

But Jack had given this power to himself.

Of course, Jack could not duplicate a sequence into two. Does this mean that Jack had given up this part of the power?

Wen Xishu couldn’t help but worry about Jack.

He didn’t know whether Jack had given the power to himself, so this unique sequence transferred to him.

Or if Jack still had this power, but apart from himself, no one else among the Bunker People could obtain this sequence.

These are two different game drop mechanisms.

The book didn’t specify, and Wen Xishu also realized... he hadn’t grasped much of the body’s memory.

Moreover, apart from the body’s memory, he didn’t know much of the common knowledge.

He indeed needed to go to the library more often.

Night fell unconsciously.

Wen Xishu learned some strategies for monsters, and Yue Yun learned some powerful sequences.

But the one who gained the most today was Nissen.

Nissen said:

”So the academy runs on a credit system! The teachers don’t give many classes, mostly it’s self-practice! That means going to the Slaughter Tower to kill enemies.”

”In midterm and final exams, the teachers will start testing our combat abilities. The final score is based on the number of times we explored the Slaughter Tower and our results against the teachers.”

”The first time going to the tower, there will be a teacher leading us. After the climb ends, we can register at the guide, opening sequence slots and item slots, one sequence slot, one item slot.”

”The school has a material department that can provide rentable equipment and sequences. Bro, we can team up to earn credits then!”

”I believe our trio will be the most dazzling!”

Wen Xishu couldn’t help but ask:

”Is there only one item slot? Shouldn’t it be four slots?”

Nissen shook his finger:

”Of course not, Wen, where did you hear about four slots? The slots in the item slot are rare attributes that don’t increase with level, making it very difficult to obtain.”

”But as long as we team up, I think we can find anything in the Slaughter Tower!”

Wen Xishu nodded, not arguing.

He had four slots in his item slot... but that might relate to clearing monsters across higher levels and achieving level six completion.

Now Wen Xishu’s reputation was too big, and he couldn’t expose that he was Wen Xishu.

Yue Yun said:

”I have no problem. If you want to go to the Slaughter Tower, call me anytime.”

Wen Xishu also nodded, agreeing on the surface, but he suddenly felt troubled inside.

His login device was still a Deceit Tower login device.

The mechanism of the Slaughter Tower was different. You could freely form teams without needing to rely on luck in rest areas like in Deceit Tower or Desire Tower, needing to be on the same floor and area to form teams.

But even so, without a Slaughter Tower login device, it was not possible. He had to find a way to get a Slaughter Tower login device from Albert.

Thinking of the Slaughter Tower and borrowing equipment, Wen Xishu suddenly wanted to make a bold attempt. For this, he was even willing to venture into the Deceit Tower again.

”If I borrow four pieces of Slaughter Tower equipment from the academy and enter the Deceit Tower... Could the dice allow the use of Slaughter Tower equipment in the Deceit Tower?”

Entering the Deceit Tower wasn’t even Wen Xishu’s ultimate goal.

What he wanted was to find an invitation, and then use Slaughter Tower equipment in Desire Tower.

To catch small fish was a joyful thing, just like Qinghua University students enjoyed catching small fish in apps designed for elementary students.

In Wen Xishu’s view, wearing Slaughter Tower equipment in the ordinary world of Desire Tower was just like catching small fish, wasn’t it?

Thinking this, he suddenly had some expectations and felt an impulse to explore the Deceit Tower immediately.

But before that, he and Nissen and Yue Yun had to explore the academy’s treasures first.
