Three Towers Game

Chapter 28: Chapter 21: Fighting for Fame

Bunker, sixteenth floor, seventh-grade building·Inside the conference room.

The meeting continues.

”Such good medicine, should we really give it to the lower class? Everyone should be very aware... of the value of these medicines.”

”We have many fifth-grade medicines, but the diseases of the lower class cannot be solved.”

Speaking is the director of the Bunker Civil Affairs Bureau Fifth Bureau. The director of the First Bureau used to be her former superior.

The two had played with many fresh tricks privately, the kind of things that would make people gasp if placed in the Desire Tower.

Naturally, this youngest director in the history of the Civil Affairs Bureau could very well guess the intentions of the director of the First Bureau.

Fifth-grade medicine can restore injuries, recovering a person’s injuries by percentage.

It can be said that fifth-grade medicine is also very precious, but firstly, the effects are relatively slow, and secondly, it has almost no effect on diseases.

Fourth-grade medicine can only handle some minor illnesses and injuries. Starting from third-grade medicine, including lower-grade medicines, they already belong to medicines that are only effective for certain injuries and illnesses in human cognition.

Of course, there must also be seventh-grade medicine, and some have speculated that it might be what ancient emperors sought as ”elixir.”

Right now, this woman in her early thirties, still charming, has made her intentions clear:

”Are the lower classes really worth us consuming such good medicine?”

”Not long ago, our people have already reached the second floor of the bunker, including doctors and the Security Bureau’s order-maintenance troops.”

”Everyone, although there are many of these medicines and they can indeed alleviate this epidemic crisis... what about next time?”

”This time it’s the lower class, what if it’s us next time? Our lives are definitely not comparable to those of the lower class.”

”Without us, the bunker would be in chaos.”

Silence.

After the female director finished speaking, many people showed expressions of contemplation.

However, the deputy director of the Bunker Security Bureau Second Bureau frowned slightly. The Security Bureau Sixth Bureau deputy director’s face was steel-blue.

After about ten seconds of silence, it was the Sixth Bureau deputy director who retorted:

”According to investigations, this epidemic cannot be eliminated by any previous medication.”

”Everyone, do you know what this means?”

No one spoke.

The Sixth Bureau deputy director continued:

”This means this is very likely a precursor to the Big Devour. Otherwise, where do you think this level of epidemic comes from!? Before the Big Devour arrives, it is always accompanied by some disasters.”

”This is completely different from some previous infectious diseases caused by a man messing with another man’s anus.”

”Obviously, this is a natural disaster warning before the Big Devour arrives!”

”Yes, everyone’s lives are precious, and the lives of the lower class are undoubtedly worthless. At least, looking at the current situation, if the lower classes die, they just die.”

”But don’t forget, without those people... the external department of the Bunker Security Bureau won’t have fresh blood.”

”Moreover, when the Big Devour arrives, you, and you, none of you will escape.”

He specially paused, his gaze sweeping towards the Third Bureau deputy director of the Security Bureau and the Fifth Bureau deputy director of the Civil Affairs Bureau.

In usual times, several deputy directors wouldn’t suffer dumb losses, but when it came to the Big Devour, they turned pale.

The deputy director of the Second Bureau knew that there still needed to be external threats.

At times, human unity still required external pressure.

Are the Three Towers the pressure? The Three Towers are not. Because the monsters in the tower don’t walk into the bunker.

In the eyes of the top layers, the Three Towers are just a piece of land or a forest for hunting.

What they truly feared was the Big Devour. That directly affects the bunker.

”Certainly, everyone’s lives are more valuable than the lives below. But don’t forget one thing, those below also serve us.”

”My point is, they should still be saved.”

The deputy director of the Second Bureau put things in perspective, his gaze falling on the director of the First Bureau of the Civil Affairs Bureau.

The director of the First Bureau of the Civil Affairs Bureau nodded:

”The Big Devour is indeed terrifying, we absolutely cannot lose the main force of the lower class exploring the Three Towers.”

”Since that’s the case, then arrange for the most knowledgeable doctors to start distributing medicines as soon as possible, and organize a treatment from our top layers.”

After saying this, the director of the Fifth Bureau of the Civil Affairs Bureau caught the message:

”Understood, I will contact the Bunker Media Bureau to intensify publicity for this treatment.”

The Sixth Bureau deputy director of the Security Bureau showed a disgusted expression.

Technically, these medicines were brought by a child named Wen Xishu.

But next, it would probably be publicized as a merit of the top layers.

The deputy director of the Second Bureau of the Security Bureau smiled brightly, but everyone knew that this chubby deputy director was also a prime example of a person with a smile hiding a knife.

The Security Bureau borrowed flowers to offer Buddha, and the people received treatment, which was good, but the deputy director did not want Wen Chaohua’s secret to be known by others.

To ascend to the top of power further, sometimes one has to be more selfish. Only then is there a chance in this lifetime to come into contact with the Elder Council.

He craved advancement too much.

Given the current situation, both the Security Bureau and Civil Affairs Bureau decided to save people. But the attitude of Wen Xishu and his group did not change.

Therefore, he had to find ways to use external forces to first remove Wen Xishu from the control of the First Bureau.

The deputy director of the Second Bureau silently touched the bracelet on his wrist, waiting for the operations of those below, his smile becoming more amiable.

...

...

Wen Xishu is suffering.

The first stage of interrogation is fatigue interrogation.

So-called fatigue interrogation involves constantly asking Wen Xishu various questions. Over and over again, and then through one or two slips, gradually destroying the other party’s logic.

However, Wen Xishu’s logic had not been destroyed. On the contrary, he angered the interrogator quite well.

”Wen Xishu, don’t think you can get away with acting crazy. This time the higher-ups don’t care whether your mind gets hurt.”

Wen Xishu looked at the other party and suddenly spoke:

”Are you from the Security Bureau?”

”Of course.”

”You should let Liu Jinsen interrogate me, maybe it’ll be more effective.”

”Let me tell you, I am Xie Changfeng of the Bunker Security Bureau First Bureau, my rank is higher than Liu Jinsen.”

Xie Changfeng mentioned his rank quite proudly:

”People from the Second Bureau and Sixth Bureau are all a bunch of lawless tower climbers, especially those of the Sixth Bureau. They have no qualifications to interrogate you.”

Wen Xishu nodded:

”Then you might as well use those things; truth serum works better than you do. I have nothing to say to you.”

”Your interrogation methods are like a woman’s.”

”Really, either you get Liu Jinsen, this thing has nothing to do with rank. Even if you become the Bunker Commander, my contempt for your intelligence won’t lessen.”

”Either you use truth serum, don’t force yourself, or you can irritate me by dancing? I might talk then, but if you play mind games with me...”

Wen Xishu didn’t finish his sentence, just let out a mocking ”pfft.”

He had already learned some things. As he expected, the Bunker Security Bureau was not unified internally; the stance between the six bureaus was complex.

This meant his chances of survival increased.

But he was also aware that the interrogator harbored some resentment towards the Wen Family, making it likely he wouldn’t hold out much longer.

After all, truth serum would instantly destroy his mental defenses.

Thus Wen Xishu thought to use language to provoke the other party, first creating a logic that using truth serum means incompetence, to delay the moment of being broken by the drug.

Indeed, Xie Changfeng was provoked and began to beat Wen Xishu, cursing with filthy words, but... he couldn’t outcurse Wen Xishu.

Getting beaten wasn’t much to Wen Xishu.

He remembered this Xie Changfeng, whose rank was higher than Liu Jinsen.

Doubling back on him in the future would suffice.

...

...

On Wen Xishu’s side, he was being interrogated by people from the Bunker Security Bureau Third Bureau.

But on the second floor, the Bunker Security Bureau Third Bureau and the Bunker Civil Affairs Bureau Fifth Bureau hadn’t forgotten to exploit Wen Xishu.

After the top layers in the conference room confirmed the final policies, soon doctors on the second floor began entering hospitals, and after a brief assignment of positions, they started distributing medicines.

Furthermore, the second floor quickly saw the propaganda.

”Our Bunker Civil Affairs Bureau, with the Bunker Security Bureau, has always sought ways to resolve this epidemic crisis.”

”We are heart-to-heart with everyone; we always serve everyone!”

”Serving the broad lower-class comrades is our unwavering principle!”

Twenty-four vehicles, carrying loudspeakers, continuously propagandized.

People followed the guidance and gathered at the front of the sixth-grade facility hospital, forming long queues.

These patients were waiting for treatment.

The unexpected thing for the top layers was that these people didn’t appreciate the top layers.

No matter how the top layers propagandized, at the moment of receiving the medicines, ”belongs to Wen Xishu” was undeniable.

This was the best propaganda.

Furthermore, what the top layers hadn’t expected was, the propaganda for Wen Xishu was actually earlier than their policies.

This was thanks to a seemingly insignificant little person.
