Three Towers Game

Chapter 41: Chapter 34 Doors and Commissions.

When the three of them reached the top, Yue Yun had sweat on his forehead, and Wen Xishu’s breathing became uneven and a bit rapid.

Only Nissen was bouncing around and singing cheerfully without even a hint of exhaustion.

Wen Xishu had to give it to Nissen for his terrifying physical stamina.

If he went to the Slaughter Tower for training, he would probably become an indomitable force.

The top of the library was a vast open space, which looked like the helicopter pads on skyscrapers from Wen Xishu’s previous life.

After the three arrived, they kept looking around, only to find... nothing.

Yue Yun said:

”I hope your legs aren’t shaking. It looks like we were busy for nothing; we have to go back down.”

Anyone who has climbed a mountain knows that the effort of going up isn’t as scary as the weakness in the legs when going down...

Nissen was also disappointed:

”Bro, it seems like we were wrong about our approach tonight. All this excitement for nothing.”

Wen Xishu didn’t say anything and just looked up at the sky.

”Did any of you notice that the clover’s spinning has slowed down?”

The massive brass clover looked even larger from the top of the library.

Yue Yun nodded:

”It does seem to have slowed a bit.”

Wen Xishu said:

”Patience is a virtue; let’s wait a bit longer.”

The brass clover kept spinning.

But as time passed, its speed became slower and slower.

After a long time, roughly around midnight—

It became easy to distinguish the three leaves with the naked eye. Like a fan slowing down after its power is cut off.

Round and round, the rotations became slower until they finally stopped.

When the massive brass clover... really stopped spinning, Wen Xishu walked to the edge of the library’s top floor.

He first looked at the brass clover in the sky.

The simulated moonlight from the dome shone through the leaf veins of the clover, making the night misty.

But the massive clover leaf also blocked a lot of the simulated moonlight, creating shadows.

One shadow fell on the gate of the Slaughter Tower System Area. Another fell on the gate of the Desire Tower System Area.

Standing on the top floor of this highest building, Wen Xishu, Yue Yun, and the others could see this scene.

And the last shadow... fell on the top floor of the library.

The huge leaf-like shadow looked like an entrance to Hell.

At this moment, without needing any explanation from Wen Xishu, Yue Yun and Nissen both guessed... this shadow falling on the top floor of the library looked almost like it had opened a door on the top floor!

Of course, this could just be a coincidence, just a geometric pattern of light and shadow.

Although it looked like a door, nothing happened when they stood in the shadow on the top floor...

However, both Yue Yun and Nissen were convinced that this might be the place where the treasure was hidden.

Because when their eyes fell on this shadow that looked like a door...

They saw some notes and garbled text.

There wasn’t a single recognizable word, just bizarre symbols that irritated Yue Yun and Nissen.

Yue Yun thought of his mother, that great woman humbly begging for a bite to eat at the bottom.

Nissen, on the other hand, thought of the father who abandoned him and his mom. He thought of the Hellish joke from the bottom layer about why black people don’t celebrate Father’s Day.

Gradually, they began to get irritable.

”Look away.”

Wen Xishu shouted.

The shout surprisingly cleared the minds of the two. Yue Yun and Nissen turned their heads in unison, looking away.

”This... what’s going on?” Nissen asked, still feeling uneasy.

Just now, he seemed to have been grabbed by some invisible force, and a huge restlessness arose in his heart.

Yue Yun looked at Wen Xishu, surprised that Wen Xishu was still staring at those garbled texts, but seemed exceptionally calm.

”How many words can you recognize?”

Wen Xishu withdrew his gaze and looked in another direction.

Nissen shook his head:

”Bro, there are no recognizable words. These things look like scribbles and talisman symbols. I can’t recognize a single one. Ah, I can’t look at this stuff any longer.”

Yue Yun also shook his head:

”I don’t recognize any words, not a single one. Can you?”

Wen Xishu thought for a moment, finally admitting:

”I can recognize a few. There’s a lot of garbled text here that can pollute one’s mind.”

”Don’t stare at them. Focus on the words you do recognize. If you don’t recognize any, then look away completely.”

Yue Yun’s eye twitched slightly and his heart stirred greatly. Who on earth was this Wenxun? Why could he recognize the words?

Could it be that the treasure’s true destiny was actually Wenxun?

Wen Xishu ignored the ”impossible, how could it be him?” thoughts that flashed through Yue Yun’s mind.

He continued to add:

”The words I can recognize aren’t many either: Teacher, Core, Most, Authority, Pure. Just these few.”

Teacher, Core, Most, Authority, Pure.

Individually, each word could be explained, but together, they seemed as incomprehensible as the garbled text to Nissen and Yue Yun.

Yue Yun asked:

”Why can you recognize some words, but Nissen and I can’t recognize a single one?”

Wen Xishu said:

”Everyone has secrets, and so do I. I won’t ask why you are so determined to surpass everyone.”

”And I won’t ask Nissen why he loves singing so much.”

”Of course, you can tell if you want, but that’s your choice, not an obligation.”

Yue Yun nodded, accepting this explanation.

Entering the Slaughter Tower Academy wasn’t easy, even though its threshold was much lower than that of the Desire Tower.

But the Academy was different.

Even those from the Slaughter Tower who graduated from the Three Towers Academy were destined to be formidable warriors.

In the future, mingling into the Security Bureau and getting an official position wouldn’t be surprising either.

This place was filled with geniuses, and having some secrets was reasonable.

”After the midterm exams, I’ll tell you my secrets if by then, we don’t hate each other. I think we could be great friends.”

Yue Yun felt that ”he’s even more pretentious than I am,” but he didn’t feel jealous. He had the determination to win, and simply a pure desire to become stronger.

Nissen said:

”Wen, I knew you weren’t simple. I really like people with stories. My mom told me that a man should have stories.”

Yue Yun looked back at the shadow:

”This thing looks like a door... you can read some of the words. Do you think they have any meaning?”

Teacher, Core, Most, Authority, Pure.

Wen Xishu vaguely guessed that these words could extend to—Teacher, Core, Authority, Purity.

And the most?

He thought of ”the earliest.”

If these words were combined and expanded a little...

A sentence had already formed in Wen Xishu’s mind.
