Chapter 1396: Raid Agreement

”Well, I didnʼt expect someone so important would be visiting my office today.” Commander Oscar squinted his eyes while leaning back in his seat, staring at the man who had already surpassed him before he realized it. ”So, may I know the reason for your visit, Marquis?”

That was right. The one who visited Oscar was none other than Noel Ardagan.

He smiled gently while saying, ”I believe I have given you the letter about my visit, Commander Oscar.”

”You do, but you personally coming here is not a good idea. Iʼm sure that someone like you knows it more than me.” Oscar gritted his teeth as though he were annoyed.

”I am aware. However, the reason for me coming here is clear. Itʼs talking about the Supreme Devil Organization. This is a win-win deal for both of us, so will you listen to me first?” Noel asked.

”…” Oscar fell silent. On the one hand, he could turn him away, which would maintain his neutral image as the citizenʼs sword against demons. On the other hand, Noel wasnʼt someone who would do such a reckless thing without any consideration.

After some thought, Oscar raised both hands as though he had given up. ”Be my guest.”

Oscar would be annoyed if Noel was beating around the bush, since the longer he stayed here, the more suspicious it would be for Oscar. Hence, Noel just dropped the huge bomb right away.

”I have the location of the Supreme Devil Organizationʼs headquarters as well as their bases. Iʼm planning to raid the Supreme Devil Organization, but I want to borrow the Demon Banner Armyʼs reputation to raid them.”

”!!!” Oscar widened his eyes in shock. It was something not even he would expect.

The organization had been operating covertly. It was hard to find one of their branches, let alone their headquarters.

And Noel claimed he had that information? How could he believe him? But if Noel indeed had it, it would be a huge opportunity for the Demon Banner Army. After all, it meant they could raid this place and destroy it, raising their own prestige. And Oscar, the current commander, would become the citizenʼs favorite. The royal family would definitely grant a lot of things to the Demon Banner Army.

Oscarʼs expression turned grim. ”Is it trusted?”

”It comes from the most loyal person of the Ardagan family.” Noel confirmed without hesitation. ”However, the organization must have realized it as well and will be retreating from their headquarters.”

Oscar thought it was irrelevant. It was true that the base was empty, but this base had been hidden for a few decades. The fact they could find this alone was amazing enough.

And because there was no one inside, they wouldnʼt really lose any soldiers.

Noel knew that there was no way the royal family would grant him anything if he went straight to their headquarters. However, if he brought the Demon Banner Army, the royal family would have a reason to reward them, which was shifted to the army entirely, with him still getting nothing.

This was actually his plan. Rather than not getting anything, it was better to make the royal family bleed, even if it meant sending all that reward to someone else. At the very least, the third party was not an enemy.

”Whatʼs in it for you?” Oscar asked. ”I simply canʼt believe youʼre going to give everything to me.”

Noel raised two fingers. ”I only have two requests. First, I want to send my own soldiers. With the Demon Banner Army in the lead, my soldiers can learn a thing or two of how you operate. This experience will definitely benefit them a lot.”

”Fair point.” Oscar crossed his arms. ”Itʼs not really a big deal. In case of an unexpected attack, having soldiers from the Ardagan family together with us can lower our casualties. Itʼs not something I would reject.”

Noel nodded. ”The second matter is that Iʼm going to retrieve the treasures of the Ardagan family from their base. Iʼm not sure whether they leave those behind or bring those items when they leave, but I can assure you of one thing. Itʼs not related to the organization, like their important information.”

If Oscar took everything, it meant the notebook left behind by Margaretha would be in his hand. He could ask for it later, but it was better for him to retrieve it personally.

For a noble family, their ancestry was held in high regard. Hence, a family treasure meant a lot to the familyʼs face.

In fact, Noel could get everything he wanted from the headquarters if he led them personally, but he chose to give it to Oscar.

It didnʼt take too long for Oscar to decide. ”I understand. I can accept those two conditions. Anything else?”

”Even though they might leave, thereʼs a chance they donʼt. Besides, I have fought the Supreme Devil twice…”

”!!!” Oscar raised his eyebrows. ”Youʼre not saying…”

Noel nodded. ”Currently, his strength is above me.”

Oscar was dumbfounded. Even he could feel that he wouldnʼt be Noelʼs match, yet Noel claimed that their leader was even stronger than him. Then wouldnʼt it mean they didnʼt have a chance?

Before Oscar showed his doubt, Noel raised his hand, stopping him. ”Of course. The Supreme Devil canʼt go all-out right now. If we do it quickly, he wonʼt stand a chance against us.

”In other words, for this raid, Iʼm planning to lead my people personally.”

It also meant Oscar had to come out as the representative for this raid. Considering there were the Supreme Devil and Alexander, it was definitely good to have two spirit transcendence experts in their rank.

Oscar ultimately nodded. ”Fine. I will go as well. I will bring the Demon Extermination Squad, Demon Spear Squad, and Demon Relief Squad. A total of 300 people.”

Noel agreed with the arrangement. ”In that case, I will bring 200 of my people then. The raid will happen 7 days from now. Weʼll regroup north of my territory and head straight to the alien territory where the enemy is located.”

”We have a deal.”
