System vs Rebirth

Chapter 1358 A Problem

”Letʼs hear it.”

[Because of our fusion, the spirits have chosen to be more proactive in sending their support. With this new system, when youʼre putting a medal into one territory, a spirit will bless that portion of land with their power, which results in the effect of that medal.]

[The higher the effect, the higher the rank of the spirit who blesses that land. Thatʼs why itʼs not really a magical thing.]

”Fair point.” Noel nodded in understanding. ”Then does that mean the universal medal…”

[No. Itʼs not like what you are thinking right now. The spirit godʼs power is beyond what you can imagine. However, he has given his blessing to this world.]

”Huh? Really?”

[Yes. His power is so strong that it envelops the entire world, not just a small place.]

”!!!” Noel widened his eyes. ”Donʼt tell me…”

[Yes. He only gives one blessing. That is the blessing of spirit. In other words, the one allowing the spirits to bond with humans is him. He single-handedly maintains the passage between the spirits and humans. Thatʼs why he wonʼt do anything with this new system. At the same time, itʼs not like his power is needed.]

[Even a spirit at Moon Goddess level wonʼt do anything with this new system.]

”This is the first time I finally understand the power of the spirits.” Noel squinted his eyes. ”With that kind of power, wonʼt you have enough power to eradicate all these demons?”

[Yes. However, you donʼt think this is the only world that the spirit world has to protect, right? Although the spirit god has taken down the demon god, their remnants are countless.]

”Fair enough.” Noel nodded in understanding. He thought a single world alone was already big, but the spirits actually protected countless worlds. ”I wonder if I can even see the extent of the spirit worldʼs power…”

[If you walk the same path as your grand ancestor, you might be able to do it. However, itʼs also the same as leaving this world for good.]

Noel smiled wryly. ”Well, I will think about it later. For now, I want to focus on dealing with the demons.”

[Yes.]

Noel paused for a moment. ”Still, the village medal slot, huh? Whatʼs the criteria of completion?”

[If you are done with the initial target, which means the building of the road as well as the restoration of the field.]

”It will take a month. However, if I give them food, is it enough? No need to wait for the next harvest?”

[Yes.]

”Thatʼs easier than.” Noel crossed his arms, pondering the pros and cons of completing the mission first. He wondered if he should just focus on the mission and not take care of the family matter for the time being.

After all, if he could put the medal on all the territories under his command, the effect would be immeasurable.

”If I donʼt actively participate in this kind of activity…”

[It will still be counted. The foundation is still in your name and the fund comes from you. Hence, it counts as your effort. After all, this is under the Noble profession, which means as a noble, you have the right to command your subordinates.]

[There is no need for a special mission to make it count.]

Noel nodded. ”Still, Iʼm not someone who chooses the easiest place to complete the mission. After all, there should be other places that require my help than them…”

[Of course. Itʼs up to you. Thatʼs why I choose you as my master.]

Noel finally understood what the new system was all about. ”Alright. This is good enough for me. Iʼm going to help these people to speed things up.”

Noel hurriedly went to the workers, helping them with the road construction.

The people were overwhelmed to see their lord personally helping them build the road. At the same time, they revered Noel even further. This was the only lord that actually chose to go to the street to personally help his people.

They sweated together, spilled blood together, and even ate together. Without Noel knowing, his position in his peopleʼs hearts had surpassed anything the kingdom had.

Noel didnʼt realize back then that his decision to build the charity organization was actually the best decision he had ever made.

There was one fact that Anna didnʼt know in the previous life. It was his peopleʼs loyalty.

In the past, Noel could create the ʼrebellion,ʼ not because he had a lot of influence. It was because when he personally came to the battlefield, he could ask, ʼWho dares to charge to the enemy line?ʼ and his people would do it without hesitation. If he asked them to dig the ditches, they would ask, ʼHow deep?ʼ

That loyalty was the one that made Noel hard to defeat.

Of course, Noel was also looking for talent. Unfortunately, in this small village, he couldnʼt find anyone with a good talent.

The highest he had seen was a D-rank talent.

After looking at the people in his city, Noel had realized that the Appraisal Medal ranked peopleʼs talent from F to SSS.

That was why D rank was considered ordinary.

He thought about bringing home someone with at least a B-rank talent and tried to develop them. If he had enough people like that, his territory would be known as a land where talent bloomed.

Still, two days passed in the blink of an eye. Because Noel used his power, they managed to dig the ground for the road completely. The workers were doing their best to set up the foundation, considering his power was not as useful in this step due to how much detail was required to take care of the foundation.

As a result, Noel was mainly supervising the progress of the charity and thought about leaving the rest of the work to his people and returned to the mansion.

”Are you sure?”

”Yeah. There donʼt seem to be a lot of things to do here. At least for me.” Noel nodded.

Layla sighed. ”If thatʼs the case, I will go back as well. Aurelia should be able to take care of the rest.”

”Well, I will leave them the airship, so you donʼt have to worry. Do you want me to carry you back?” Noel asked.

”Youʼre not worried your wife will be jealous?”

”If thatʼs the only thing needed to make Anna jealous, then thereʼs basically no trust between us at all.” Noel chuckled.

”Fair enough. In that case, I will—”

Before Layla completed her words, Grandel suddenly rushed to Noel. ”Sir… Thereʼs a problem.”
