System vs Rebirth

Chapter 1372 A More Practical Method

”Haaaa!” Noel shouted while waving his sword downward. The energy from his sword traveled through the water. It was powerful enough to cut the surface, but it didnʼt manage to reach the bottom of the river.

”…” Noel looked at the result with a solemn expression. ”This is not it. Iʼm lacking something.”

After he got some insights from the battle between his ancestor and the demon king, he tried to sort his thoughts.

As expected, he ended up wanting to try it himself. However, even if he gained some insight, doing it was easier said than done.

He had been doing his best to use that power, but he couldnʼt imitate it even just a tiny bit.

He ended up training in this river, the only river running through the Ardagan territory. Since there was no one crossing the river yet, as the navy had yet to fully be established, he could use it as a training place. In the end, nothing would happen if he slashed this river, and the water could also dampen his power and return to normal.

It was a perfect location for his training.

”What am I lacking?” Noel gritted his teeth. ”A blade that doesnʼt care whether itʼs thin or big. It is fierce but subtle. It is weak but overwhelming.

”What is actually a king path?” Noel lowered his head. Unfortunately, no one could answer this question for him, including Ardagan. There was also no spirit king after his ancestor, so there was no record or information regarding the spirit king.

Finding the king path was close to impossible. He just knew it was there, but he didnʼt know how to reach it.

For Noel, it felt like the spirit king was right in front of him, but there was an unknown path between them. This path could be just a simple straight path or even a cliff that he had to climb.

It was precisely for this reason that he couldnʼt advance despite having the ability to do so.

”There must be something else Iʼm missing. Even the black box my ancestor left behind should provide some clues. However, Iʼm still unable to push my spiritual energy through the box.

”Thereʼs a resistance… but what kind of resistance is it?” Noel bit his lips. Even if he could come up with ten possibilities, he would end up failing.

More importantly, he didnʼt have a lot of time left.

The Supreme Devil wouldnʼt wait for him. Although the curse still helped, the fact the Supreme Devil had made his move meant the curse had been weakened to such an extent that he could finally go out instead of staying in his base the whole time.

”What am I supposed to do?” Noel clenched his fists. ”I canʼt find the answer. Do I have to fight against the Supreme Devil again? If I risk my life, I might be able to defeat him. No, even if I use my True Spirit Body, I might not be able to beat him.

”The only thing I can do is to withstand his onslaught and somehow run away. The moment he is freed from the curse, he might be able to destroy the Ardagan family.

”Thatʼs why I have to be fast… no, even faster.” Noel bit his lips. He never thought that the Supreme Devilʼs appearance would cause him this much stress.

He finally realized that even though he had defeated Qiel, the woman who was supposed to be the brain of the Supreme Devil Organization, the Supreme Devil was more than capable of dealing with him. He just let his subordinates do it most of the time.

”…” Noel scratched the back of his head. ”Iʼm afraid this time he will have the advantage.”

”Anyway, letʼs review it again. The king path… Considering the two levels below it are meant to create something within my body, does the king path also want me to build something?

”Spirit Heart, Spirit Mind, then what? Spirit Body? Do I need a body of a spirit? But I already have it. After all, Iʼm already half spirit. But becoming a half spirit… Does it make me have a different path? Or do I need to do something else to reach the next level?”

There were so many questions in his mind. No. He actually got more questions instead of finding a single answer.

With Ardagan refusing to give him any clues, he had to find this path himself.

”…” Noel scratched the back of his head, wondering if he could find anything. ”At this rate, Iʼll end up tiring myself out without finding even a single clue. Should I go back to the very basics?”

The ʼbasicʼ in his mouth was not the basics of swordsmanship. Instead, it was everything he had experienced so far. In other words, he would begin from Spirit Apprentice.

Noel looked around before muttering, ”That might be useful. I donʼt know if this is going to be useful, but reviewing my strength from the beginning should be quite beneficial, right?

”Before this, I had only tried to think about it. This time, I want to use a practical method to review everything.”

Noel paused for a moment. He might not be able to do it anywhere else, but with the power of a noble, he could definitely do it.

With that thought in mind, Noel returned to the main city instead of the village. He directly went to Tristan and Rose.

”Master?” Tristan looked confused, since Noel was supposed to be outside for a while longer. ”Did you encounter a problem?”

Noel shook his head. ”Not really. I just want to do something. How many soldiers do we have?”

Tristan glanced at Rose as the latter answered, ”There are about 18,000 soldiers.”

Noel thought for a moment. ”18,000, huh? Thatʼs a bit too many. How about the soldiers that have a high amount of contribution points?”

”Iʼm not entirely sure. Only Howard has that information. Do you want me to call him?”

”Yes, please. Iʼm planning to give the soldier a training session. I want you to arrange it for me.”
