Chapter 1386: Purifying Laufey

”I… I…”

Noel looked at his uncle with a solemn face. ”Uncle. I know how hard it is for you to decide. If you still donʼt think this is a good decision, in that case, I have no choice but to order you as the current head of the Ardagan family.”

”!!!” Laufey raised his eyebrows. If he didnʼt comply, it meant his loyalty was superficial.

Because Noel forced him this way, Laufey couldnʼt disagree anymore.

”There are a lot of things that I can say to explain the situation to you and why my decision is necessary, but that can only happen when the demon inside you is gone.”

”…” Laufey closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He understood what Noel meant. As long as he remained a demonic human, there was no way he could trust someone completely. There was a chance that the demon just acted as if it was Laufey.

That was why this was a necessary process before Noel could explain everything.

Laufey finally accepted. ”I understand. I shall comply with the decision of the family head.”

Noel nodded. ”Still, because you have been corroded by the demon for so long, Iʼm afraid that the process will be much more painful.”

”Thereʼs nothing more painful than forcing me to hate and trying to kill my innocent nephew.” Laufey looked resolute.

Noel smiled, feeling moved. Noel then opened the cell and entered inside. He raised his hand, forming a small black flame on his forehead.

”Here I go, Uncle.”

”Yes.” Laufey nodded.

Noel then placed his hand on his forehead as the flame entered Laufeyʼs head.

”!!!” Laufey widened his eyes in shock as the pain instantly spread all over his body as if something inside his body was screaming.

Laufey gritted his teeth, but as he said earlier, there was nothing more painful than harming Noel. He was planning to show that it was true.

His body felt like it was trying to go berserk. He started to convulse after several minutes as foam started to leak out of his mouth.

Yet, even with all those symptoms, there was not a single voice coming out of his mouth.

Laufey had truly worked too much for the Ardagan family. Noel never thought Laufey would be able to endure this much.

Even the seven elders of the Beast Kingdom couldnʼt resist completely. And they were just the remaining trace of a demon that had been diluted for a thousand years. Compared to Laufey, who had a demon inside his body, the pain they had to endure was most likely only a tenth of what Laufey was suffering.

Laufey was struggling, but Noel couldnʼt stop the process. It was better to eliminate the demon in one go so that it couldnʼt prepare any trick during the second process.

”Ardagan.” Noel muttered.

[Itʼs almost gone. Just endure it for another ten minutes. After eliminating the trace of the demon, you can use your Force Control to heal him. His achievement with spiritual energy is extremely high, so thereʼs a high chance that his spirit will return after the process is done.]

”Can it really return?”

[Yes.]

”All right.” Noel took a deep breath, steeling himself. He maintained his focus so that he would stop his ability the moment he erased everything.

As Ardagan said, ten minutes were all it took for the demonʼs presence to be gone. In that instant, Noel activated his Force Control to repair his body.

Because he had to erase everything, his body was damaged severely. If not for his original level, he would end up being crippled after the process was over.

But with this, Noel could repair his body to full health.

Once his body was repaired to a certain extent, there was a sudden surge of spiritual energy flowing into him.

”!!!” Even Noel looked surprised because this surge of spiritual energy didnʼt come from him. It was different from what happened with the elders.

It was as if the spiritual energy that had been beside him finally returned to their home. And they first formed a spirit seal to become their nest.

As a result, the spirit seal began reconstructing everything. They first assimilated the spiritual energy, created a spirit heart, formed a spirit mind, and finally, completed the revival of the spirit seal.

For some reason, he could hear a gentle voice coming from inside Laufey ringing directly inside his head.

”Thank you, Heir of the Divine Sword. Please allow me to take over his recovery.”

[I believe you should stop.]

Ardagan was saying the same thing. Although Noel was still worried since Laufey hadnʼt recovered completely, he believed in spirits.

The entire process was witnessed by Melissa.

She was dumbstruck. ʼThis is… Even a demonic human can be restored completely? That is the spirit seal, right? I see. If such a thing is possible, itʼs clear that he has the capability of helping the entire Beast Kingdom.

ʼIf he continues to grow, thereʼs a chance that the process might not be painful anymore. This way, even children can actually undergo the same process. And in the future, the Beast Kingdom will be the same as any other.ʼ

Melissaʼs expression turned solemn. It was definitely necessary for them to win the war against the demon king. As someone entrusted by the Beast Kingdom to help Noel directly, she swore to do her part.

Seeing Laufey falling unconscious after the spirit recovered, Noel checked his condition first before taking off the restraints.

While carrying Laufey, Noel turned to Melissa. ”From this point on, the battle against the demon king will become even fiercer.

”Still, I have got the idea of how to become a spirit king. Thatʼs why, Melissa, I might end up relying on you in the defense so that I can focus on pursuing the king path.

”That also means you might not be able to leave the territory for quite some time. Rui alone wonʼt be enough against them.”

Melissa smiled. ”Going around the human territory is a dream of mine, but that dream canʼt be accomplished if the human kingdoms are destroyed. Iʼm just taking a break from pursuing my goal, so you donʼt have to worry about me.”

Noel nodded. ”In that case, Iʼll leave the territoryʼs protection to you and Rui. Iʼm going to bring my uncle to get some rest. Please watch over him and inform me once he wakes up.”

”Sure.”
