Chapter 1384: Uncle

As soon as Noel returned, Melissa immediately came to him, dragging a body.

”Iʼve captured one of the attackers. Heʼs not dead yet. You can try extracting information from him. Or should I kill him right away?” Melissa asked while dropping the guy on the ground.

”Huh?” Noel didnʼt expect that Melissa would capture someone. ”How many people attacked the city?”

”Only two. This guy is a demonic human, while the other one is someone with a space element. The latter managed to escape. Maybe I should have let her take out more people and eliminate them all at once…” Melissa frowned.

”Ahaha. Please donʼt do that. What I need right now is stability. Itʼs already quite uncomfortable for the people to know that the city has just been attacked.” Noel shook his head. ”Anyway, thank you for capturing one. If he comes here, he should have been a devil saint, so I will try to—!”

Noel abruptly stopped when he glanced at the body on the ground, wondering who it was. He thought the Supreme Devil Organization had prepared another devil saint, but he was wrong.

The body lying on the ground was someone he was very familiar with.

”Eh?” Noel widened his eyes.

”Whatʼs wrong? Someone like you should have enough information about this guy, but that reaction…” Melissa furrowed her eyebrows.

Noel smiled wryly. ”Laufey Ardagan.”

”Ardagan?” She raised her eyebrows. Noel should be the only child and he heard his father was called Luke Ardagan. Hence, she didnʼt know anything about this Laufey Ardagan.

”Heʼs my uncle. I have only learned it recently, but apparently, heʼs a double agent of the Ardagan family.” Noel carefully approached Laufey. ”To think you would capture him…”

”Is it a bad thing? I donʼt know anything about their identities. All I know is they attacked this place and I should deal with them.” Melissa squinted her eyes.

”No. Thatʼs fine. Iʼm not blaming you or anything.” Noel looked down. He first checked Laufeyʼs condition.

There was a mix of emotions crawling in his heart. On the one hand, he had fought against Laufey and witnessed his atrocity multiple times. On the other hand, he knew Laufey just did it to make sure no one noticed his true role.

Still, capturing Laufey here would change a lot of things. The Supreme Devil Organization would be in trouble. His father would also lose his only source of information.

As a result, the Supreme Devil Organization would definitely relocate to another area.

While there were a lot of questions and possibilities in his mind, there was one important thing he needed to do first. It was none other than healing his body.

Of course, because Melissa mentioned demonic humans, he didnʼt know if it was a good idea to use his Force Control on his body or not.

Hence, he muttered, ”Ardagan.”

[His condition doesnʼt look good. He has ingested the demon for quite a long time. The little trace of his spirit is gone. He might have been controlled by the demon.]

Noel frowned. ”Does that mean he will die? We canʼt do anything about him?”

There was no way he would allow Laufey to die. Even though he was known as the villain, there was no one who had sacrificed more than Laufey.

Not only did he push away the love of his family, but he also had to bear the stigma that couldnʼt be forgiven for the rest of his life.

At the very least, he didnʼt want his uncle, who had sacrificed so much, to die. After all, it was thanks to him that the Supreme Devil Organization didnʼt manage to kill him all this time.

[There is a way to do it, but that can only happen if his mind is still intact. If he has been fully taken over by the demon, itʼs impossible to bring him back.]

”…” Noelʼs face darkened. He clenched his hands into fists. Although he was frustrated and sad, he couldnʼt afford to show it here. ”What is this method youʼre talking about?”

[The same as purifying the demihumans. By erasing all traces of demons from their body, itʼs possible for him to recover. In fact, the previous spirit might even come back to him.]

[Still, that depends on his condition. And the process will be much more gruesome because thereʼs literally a demon inside his body.]

Noel became even more frustrated, not because he was disappointed by his answer, but because if he could do it from the beginning, he could somehow save Old Jade. After all, Old Jade died because he had swallowed a demon.

”In that case, how about using my Force Control to repair his body?”

[I believe itʼs better to utilize the demonʼs regenerative ability. Besides, even if we use the Force Control, the demon inside his body will reject the energy. Hence, itʼs better not to disturb the balance.]

”I see.” Noel closed his eyes with a pained look. He turned to Melissa and said, ”Bring him to the mansion and lock him up in the basement. If you donʼt know the way, just ask the young maid Sandra. Tell her that itʼs my order. And please watch this guy for me.

”I will go back after Iʼm done with the sparring session today.”

”Sure.” Melissa agreed without hesitation.

”Thanks.” Noel let out a long sigh.

He never thought that his next meeting with his uncle would be in this situation. This time, he didnʼt know whether his uncle could survive or not. After all, he had seen a lot of demonic humans who had been taken over by the demons.

So, his uncle might have been the same. The only thing he could do was observe the situation. If his uncle had truly been taken over by the demon, he would end his uncleʼs life with his own life.

This was the only way for him to repay everything he had done, both for him and the family.

It was ironic that the one who sacrificed the most for the family ended up known as its traitor.

Noel took a deep breath, trying his best to calm his heart down. In the end, he couldnʼt show a single weakness so that the people didnʼt feel uneasy.

”Letʼs go back to the arena then.”
