Chapter 1355: First Trip

When the airship descended to the field, the people couldnʼt help but watch the entire thing, curious about this transportation as they had never seen it before.

The first one coming out of the airship was Grandel, as he immediately shouted, ”Marquis Ardagan is coming!”

It was an announcement for the people to be on their knees, but Noelʼs voice soon echoed in everyoneʼs ears as an invisible force lifted them up, making them unable to kneel.

”Thereʼs no need for you to kneel.” Noel came out of the airship. ”It should be I who should kneel to you. I have failed to be a good lord and let the demons trample over your field.”

The people couldnʼt help but gasp. This was the first time they saw Noel. Unlike all the cities the Ardagan family constructed, this village was made because of unregistered migration. So, they were shocked to see Noelʼs appearance.

Noel looked so young, but his appearance was anything but ordinary. There was a graceful atmosphere around him and this indescribable pressure that somehow captured the peopleʼs gaze.

They had heard about the marquisʼ achievements whenever they were selling things in the city, so they thought Noel was a middle-aged man.

Let alone a middle-aged man, Noel was just in his twenties. Yet even at that age, he managed to achieve a lot of things.

And this person actually wanted to kneel to them, apologizing because the demons trampled their field. How could they accept it? Normally, the noble would just ignore them or just subjugate the demons and be done with it.

Noel, on the other hand, lowered his head while saying, ”I apologize for not being able to help you this whole time.”

”Please raise your head, Marquis.”

”We donʼt deserve this.”

The people panicked but felt touched at the same time. In the end, they werenʼt registered in this land, so even if Noel didnʼt do anything, they couldnʼt really complain.

Noel smiled wryly while lifting his head up. ”I have come here personally to ensure the restoration of the village. I hope that all the people here can cooperate with each other so that everyone can live happily in the future.”

Noel acted more like a saint than even Layla, who couldnʼt help but realize Noel had stolen her role.

Noel nodded his head. ”I know that you have been hungry, and Iʼve brought with me an ample food supply. Letʼs have a meal together first.”

Dealing with everything right away would not be as effective because the people were still too tense to do anything due to his appearance. Hence, Noel planned to use the meal to calm them down.

Grandel hurriedly waved his hand, signaling the people to enter the village to prepare for a meal.

The people were perplexed as to what they should do. In fact, Noel didnʼt plan to tell them to do anything just yet. Instead, he only called the village chief to get the report. Of course, Jasmine and the others were inspecting the village secretly.

Once the meal was ready, Noel sat down along with them, with the village chief next to him.

The village chief was visibly crying because he would probably never have the chance to have a meal together with the marquis himself for the rest of his life.

Noel, on the other hand, waited until he calmed down before asking, ”Can you tell me about the situation in this village?”

”Y-Yes.” The village chief nodded furiously. ”8 days ago, a group of demons were going to the west, looping around the mountain. In the end, they trampled our field and only one field survived the migration. We should be able to harvest them in another two weeks, but…”

Noel looked concerned. ”I see. Did anyone get hurt?”

The village chief shook his head. ”Because our village is located a bit more upward, and the migration happened during the night, the demons only passed us without coming to the village.”

”Iʼm glad that everyone is alright. After all, human lives canʼt be compared to food.

”The reason I come here is to ensure that the village is able to survive until the next harvest season. In addition, I would like to improve the area. I have seen the road you took to leave the mountain… It was dangerous. I felt like an incident could occur at any moment.”

The village chief was overwhelmed by his words. ”We… We…”

Noel glanced at Jasmine as the latter reported, ”I have checked the area. It should be no problem. In fact, with my method, the harvest can at least increase by 30% with the field.

”Some fields require some fixing, but it shouldnʼt be too hard,” explained Jasmine.

Douglas came to him and reported, ”My lord. The cliff is indeed dangerous, but as expected, thereʼs another route that they can take. Although the distance is longer to the closest city, the city north of this mountain should finish in another nine months.

”Although it will be inconvenient right now, if the villagers wish to sell their harvest, they should be able to reach this city more quickly. The road will be safer as well.”

”Thank you.” Noel nodded before turning to the village chief. ”Well, there you have it. Iʼm planning to improve this area so that the village doesnʼt have to go on that treacherous road anymore. Do you have any attachment to the city where you usually sell your harvest?”

The village chief shook his head while crying, ”How can we… receive all this…”

Noel smiled. ”Indeed. Unfortunately, I can only help my citizens. This village… is unfortunately not registered, right?”

”!!!” The village chiefʼs face turned pale. He opened his mouth as if he wanted to explain something, but Noel waved his hand to stop him.

”And thatʼs why Iʼm telling you. Do you wish to remain here? If you wish to do so, I want to register this place in my territory. Of course, that also means you will become my citizens and I have the obligation to protect all of you.” Noel smiled.

The village chief cried again as he was overwhelmed by his emotion to say anything.
