Chapter 1291 Spirit Transformation

”You donʼt have to call them. I will do it. Give me the pill.”

”…” They looked shocked. Even as the creator, Khalid expected them to test it on a death row inmate. It was quite surprising that Rose chose to test it personally.

On the one hand, it was reckless. On the other hand, it made Khalid feel appreciated. Rose was supposed to be the successor of Charlotte, who would act as the lordʼs secretary, handling all the administration tasks. It wouldnʼt be weird if people claimed Dimitri to be Noelʼs right hand man while Rose was his left hand.

Rose extended her hand, demanding. ”Give it to me.”

”Rose.” Dimitri raised his voice, trying to stop her.

However, Rose simply shook her head. ”Khalid is our pillar. The lord and the lady are not scared. Even though they had become strong enough to ignore the side effect of the prototype, they shouldnʼt be stronger than the current me back then. In addition, this is supposed to be the perfect product, so Iʼll trust our pillar of medicine.

”Besides, waiting for death row inmates will take at least several days or even weeks. The enemies will most likely attack us within a week, so we have to confirm it fast and make our move fast before they start moving.

”In that case, itʼs only reasonable for me to test it.”

Dimitri opened his mouth, wanting to refute her. Sadly for him, Rose just walked to Khalid and snatched the bottle from his hand. ”I will take this. Only one pill is enough, right?”

Khalid was speechless, but he still nodded his head.

”Rose—!” Tristan reacted last and wanted to stop her, but Rose had already picked up the pill and just ate it.

She thought about getting water to swallow it, but to her surprise, the spiritual energy in her body was reacting to the pill in her mouth.

”!!!” Rose widened her eyes in shock as the spiritual energy burst from his body uncontrollably. ”Kh.”

”Rose!” Tristan and Dimitri tried to help her, while Khalid remained still, staring at Rose so that he didnʼt miss a single thing happening.

Rose gritted her teeth. The spiritual energy was enveloping the pill inside her mouth and drew out the spiritual energy within the pill, or more like within the ingredients.

As soon as everything was sucked away, the pill crumbled in her mouth and sublimed. It then fused with her own energy and went directly to her mark.

”Kh!” Rose could feel a sharp pain as she clutched her stomach. It wasnʼt that her stomach was sick. If they looked closely, they would see the spirit mark on her stomach was glowing dimly.

The light gradually brightened as the spirit mark was expanding in all directions.

Rose could feel that the spirit mark was trying to transform her body.

It spread fast toward her hand first, enveloping it with a thin layer of a pinkish glove that reached her upper arm. However, this glove was actually exuding a massive amount of spiritual energy.

In addition, her eyes were gradually transforming. A star shape gradually formed on her right pupil, while the left pupil formed a pink plus shape.

Several other patterns spread on her other arm and body, with the last one being a small cloud pattern on her forehead.

”!!!” Dimitri was the first to notice. When the spiritual energy was captivating them, their surroundings had been covered with cloud-like spiritual energy. It looked real but felt empty at the same time.

”Is this…” Dimitri wanted to warn Khalid, but in the blink of an eye, the office was gone. It was expanding like a grass field in the sky. There was nothing other than the cloud sitting on the surrounding ground, which startled Dimitri.

He thought he was already pretty immune to illusions, but the spirit transformation had blown his mind.

Rose could feel the pain gradually disappear as the transformation completed. She could feel the difference in her illusion between the normal state and the transformation state.

Rose waved her hand, retracting the illusion. It seemed she had full control over it as well. ”This is… amazing!”

”Do you feel sick? Anything uncomfortable?” Khalid asked.

”The pain has subsided, and thereʼs nothing uncomfortable. In fact, I feel like Iʼm brimming with energy. I havenʼt talked to my spirit, but I can feel the excitement from the spirit through the power I subconsciously unleashed earlier. I think itʼs a success unless thereʼs a hidden side effect.”

Khalid shook his head. ”Thereʼs no hidden side effect. I believe.”

”Then, this is successful.” Rose nodded. ”Well, other people might give different reactions, but we can probably invite Sir Raincart here. It will give us some reliable allies or money. It will help to convince their king once our lord returns as well.

”In addition, I think itʼs best to ask our allies, including Marquis Stargaze and Duke Lorelei, to get this medicine. They would be thrilled with this transformation power. Other than them, I canʼt think of anyone who is close enough to trust us with an unknown medicine.

”Well, I can probably ask several people from my former position in the Demon Banner Army,” explained Rose.

Khalid nodded in agreement. ”Thank you so much, Miss Rose, for believing in me.”

”Thereʼs a reason why the lord recruits all of us, so I choose to believe his decision.” Rose shrugged. ”Besides, you should focus on the berserk and inducing pills.

”If we fight against a large number of demons, having an army of people with spirits will be terrifying. In fact, even if their spirits are lower rank, it will still count as a spirit. In the future, when this medicine is available to all people, everyone could awaken their spirit. And you will be remembered, Sir Khalid. Congratulations in advance. ”Also, the berserk pill is beneficial for our officers to kill their high ranking demons.”

Khalid couldnʼt help but smile. He politely bowed to Rose. ”Yes. I understand. First, I will make some pills for our current needs. After that, I will proceed with those two.”

Dimitri looked at both of them and asked, ”How about I test it as well?”
