Chapter 1289 Inspection

The busiest people among all the pillars were not Dimitri or Charlotte. It was Roel.

As the head of rune technology, Roel had to supervise everything related to the rune technology.

Of course, this also meant that the rune car accident would definitely be handled by his team.

”Well, I have expected this, but this is rather annoying,” Roel muttered, looking at the broken car.

”What should we do, sir?” His assistant asked. This was the first time the accident happened, so they had to carefully proceed.

Roel knew it more than anyone else, considering this accident might be caused by an unknown party. And it would lead to them facing the Magic Tower, who supervised the creation in the kingdom.

Roel took a brief look at the car and explained, ”First, weʼll be examining the broken area and checking if itʼs possible to be repaired. We have to list which part needs to be replaced and see if it has to be changed.

”We will try to reduce the cost of the repair as much as possible, but we have to restore it to the perfect state. This is the first task.

”The second task is to inspect anything that could be the cause of the accident. Do we have a statement from the related person?”

”Yes.” His assistant nodded. ”He said that the brake didnʼt function at all.”

”Hmm…” Roel frowned. ”In that case, weʼll focus on that area first and see whatʼs going on. However, this doesnʼt mean itʼs the sole problem. We have to ensure that the entire car is running just fine. Only then can we draw the conclusion.

”This is going to be a long and tedious process, but itʼs necessary to speed up things in the future. We donʼt have any procedures, so we have to create one based on experiments. Make sure to take a note on everything and see which part can be optimized.”

”Yes, sir.” The assistant nodded.

”Let us begin.”

Roel and his assistant began to inspect the car from the broken parts to the ones that didnʼt get any damage.

He had to ensure that the safety was maintained, so they replaced everything that was damaged, even if it was just a scratch. The rest could be thrown back to the smelter and recast for something else. Explore stories at empire

After seeing the damage of the car hitting a wall at such a speed, Roel thought it wasnʼt as bad as he imagined.

He had seen a lot of things happening to the carriage, so he expected a lot worse than them.

Finally, he proceeded to the suspected area and examined the brake.

As they expected, the brake was broken. It was supposed to be connected to the wheels, but for some reason, it wasnʼt.

It was even weirder with the fact that the car was supposed to be running for at least an hour.

Once the inspection was over, he headed straight to Tristanʼs office.

”How is it? Is there anything you suspect from the car?” Tristan asked.

”Yeah. The car shouldnʼt have a problem, but for some reason, the connection ended up disappearing. It wasnʼt broken. It disappeared.”

”Hmm?” Tristan raised his head.

”Are you saying that someone made it disappear?” Dimitri frowned.

”Yeah. Someone could steal it, or it might be an ability.” Roel nodded.

Dimitri thought the only one with a space element was Josephine. If that was the case, Melissa would have noticed. In other words, the culprit might not be an extraordinary person.

”Whatʼs the condition of the driver?” Tristan asked.

”He breaks his arm, but he is fine. He should recover in a week with Khalidʼs medicine.”

Rose added, ”In that case, he should be well enough to answer some questions. Please ask him about everything, especially whether he left the car unattended or not a few minutes before his accident.”

”Yeah. Thatʼs what Iʼm going to do.” Roel nodded in agreement. ”To make it legal, we have to create a document for questioning.”

Dimitri acknowledged it. ”Indeed. The Tower Association will definitely use it against us, so we have to document everything, including the questioning. In addition, we have to ensure the safety of that person since people might kill him and use it as us trying to silence him. It will create public distrust.

”I have asked Howard for his protection, but it will be best to increase his security a bit, at least until the lord returns.”

Tristan thought for a moment. ”Yeah. I will write it for you right now. Sir Dimitri. You handle his protection.”

”Got it.” Dimitri agreed.

”Is there anything else, Sir Roel?”

Roel nodded. ”How are we going to replace it? Weʼre lucky that no one is hurt, but it will decrease the trust in our technology.”

Rose was the one answering that question. ”Itʼs easy. Make a special announcement that the guy has done everything correctly. Even with something wrong, he has done a great job as someone affiliated directly with the government by moving away from other people.

”Weʼll improve everything and train our people properly so that no one will be hurt. Weʼll have to give an award to this person for doing such a heroic thing.”

Tristan agreed. ”Yeah. This should be enough for the time being. Also, Teacher told me that we might not be the only target. Please inform our allies to tighten their security, especially for the rune technology. They might attack them.

”Please inform me if the Tower Association has made their move. I donʼt think the kingdom will use this to fight us, since the Tower Association is stronger.”

They all exchanged nods and concluded the report.

Little did they know, their problems had just begun. And the one who would bring the most impact was not the four people in that room.

It was Khalid.

In his personal office, Khalid was laughing uncontrollably, staring at the blue-colored solution that gradually hardened.

”Hehehehe… This is it. Iʼve been waiting for so long.”

Anna and Noel recruited Khalid because he was a royal alchemist who managed to create something amazing in the previous timeline.

With the resources of the Ardagan family as well as their efforts in exploring the previous civilization ruins due to their location being right within the demon territory, Khalid finally created the medicine that he had previously discovered in a different timeline.

”Hahahaha. Iʼve finally done it. I shall etch my name in history with this drug. The perfect Spirit Awakening Drug has now been completed!”
