Chapter 1284 Power of Information

”Oh my. Is that true?” A woman gradually lied down on the bed coquettishly.

”Hahaha. You donʼt believe me? Iʼm the great merchant, Ranz.” The middle-aged man pumped his chest proudly. His hand was moving like a snake as he licked his lips vulgarly. ”Hehehe. And tonight, you are my trophy.”

”Kyaa.”

Unbeknownst to him, there was another woman observing them from the outside. She walked to her small office on the top floor before sending a letter.

All of those letters were directed to the hub city instead of the Golden Dawn City. Of course, the recipient was none other than Harley.

”Hmm?” Harley was reading the letter leisurely while lying down on the brothel managerʼs lap.

”Is there something wrong, Master?”

”Just look at this. See if you can understand their intentions.” Harley gave the report to her.

The manager looked shocked the more she read the letter. She conveyed everything she found from the letter, ”First of all, there are a lot of merchants moving to the west. Currently, there are three who are considered great merchants coming to the west, and the most terrifying one is Matthew.

”Because our train is expanding to the west, Iʼm sure that theyʼre trying to sabotage the train, or at least the trade over there. We are unsure about the details right now, but weʼve received the report about their movements prior to this.

”Hence, itʼs best to treat them lightly for this. If we want to defeat them, we can lure them in first and destroy them. From the current movements, it looks like what Mr. Maxwell, Madam Theresa, and Mr. Zephyr are planning to do right now.

”On the other hand, several nobles are going to the north. Looking at this lineup, Iʼm afraid that theyʼre planning something big, and it will be related to the laws of this kingdom.

”There are also a lot of people in the financial sectors, so they might be trying to poach our people.

”No. Thereʼs a chance that they might even sabotage us. If anything bad happens, they will use the power of laws to suppress us.

”There might be some hidden cards they have yet to play because all we have seen is for frontal attack. The sabotage needs to be stopped, so we should tighten our security.

”We are unsure right now which city is their target. If we consider the importance, it will be the Golden Dawn Village. But even if they sabotage the Golden Dawn Village, itʼs unlikely the people will be swayed. The trust of the citizens is at its peak.

”Even if the lord is not here, they wonʼt hate him all of a sudden. Hence, Iʼm assuming that they will try to sabotage other cities, either this hub city or Laivaen city. They have been with us for a long time, so itʼs possible.

”However, the Moon Temple is over there, so they can calm them down pretty easily. On the other hand, the hub city is free. While there is a mayor handling the problem, the citizens are mostly people who are seeking opportunity. So, this one is the weakest.

”Still, all of them are non-fighters. We havenʼt located any of their fighters this whole time. Considering everything we have seen from this letter, the merchants will attack from the west, and the nobles will go from the south.

”In addition, the Supreme Devil Organization definitely wonʼt stay silent. They will attack us from the north, which leaves the east. Our east is protected by the border. With our relationship with the Greenwood Kingdom, they canʼt infiltrate from the west unless theyʼre using that border to cover themselves.

”In that scenario, they must be extremely powerful experts. Last but not least, the Tower Association. In the report, they havenʼt done anything special because the Magic Lord is still suppressing them.

”However, they will definitely make their move. We are unsure when and where. In addition, the Tower Association can attack us both with laws or their experts. The laws theyʼre targeting will be something related to runes while their experts will use the time weʼre vulnerable to wreak havoc.

”No. Thereʼs even a chance they will move together with the experts from the Supreme Devil Organization and the central government so that weʼll be overwhelmed. Thatʼs all I can find from this report, Master.”

”Heh. Good enough.” Harley smiled. ”In response, the lord has stationed the three merchants in the west, a hidden trump card to deal with the experts in the Golden Dawn City, and us here.”

”Ah!” The manager looked shocked. ”The merchants should be able to have a big clash with them. With their money, they should be able to win. As for the hidden trump card… If the experts from the central government are hiding using the border, the first city they will see is the Golden Dawn City. As a result, itʼs easy to narrow down their attack to the Golden Dawn City.

”In addition, with us here, we can manage the information network not only for this territory but for other nobles. After all, we canʼt rule out the possibility of them attacking our allies.”

”Bingo.” Harley winked playfully. ”Still, they have Josephine, who is a well-known space element user. Her ability can overturn the battlefield, which is why the lord has given us a few specific instructions depending on the situation. Our lord is… surely… scary.”

The manager could only gulp down as she was able to see the same thing.

…

Hub City.

”What is this? Itʼs not working?” A driver frowned as he started pulling the brake, but the car didnʼt slow down. ”Itʼs not working? Whatʼs going on? I need to stop.”

The driver panicked as he saw a store in the front. He abruptly turned to the right, which was seen as dangerous.

”Kyaaa!”

”Whaa—!”

The people were in shock, but fortunately, no one got hit. However, the driver couldnʼt stop the car for a long time, which resulted in him running out of turns to take.

”Not good…” The driver screamed as he only had two choices: either crash into a store and potentially harm people or turn to a dead end. The driver chose the former and ended up hitting a wall.

Bam!

The first accident of the Rune Car finally happened six months after its first official release as public transportation.
