Chapter 1279 Return

”Hahahaha. Iʼm going to be rich.”

”Iʼm going to be a hero. We have become the first people who have reached the island across the sea for the first time in a millennium!”

”This is going to be amazing!”

”I have made a name for myself.”

The people couldnʼt help but cheer. They had done a lot of things in the last two months.

Seeing their laughter and cheers livened up the entire return trip.

The admiral couldnʼt help but smile, feeling happy. They had been dreaming of this moment for the last few months. They had never thought the dream could be achieved.

As expected, the biggest contributors were Noel and Anna. However, it didnʼt diminish the fact that everyone had done their jobs.

Out of all the people they had brought, there were 48 casualties. Fortunately, all of them could return to their homes and be buried on their lands.

The only thing the king could do for them was to give them honor and compensation for their families.

While everyone was celebrating, Noel knocked on the door.

”Please enter.”

Noel opened the door, finding Rui inside by herself.

Noel was accompanied by Anna and Incetta, since they needed to talk about an important matter.

”How are you doing? Have you gotten accustomed to the ship? We should arrive at our land tomorrow. Are you feeling anxious?” Noel asked. This was a long journey and a very important one for her, since she couldnʼt return to her family for quite some time.

Luckily, Rui smiled. ”Donʼt worry. Iʼm perfectly fine. The sea might be harsh, but itʼs manageable. I can also see the sea from here, so Iʼm having fun in my own way. There are a lot of things I want to learn now that Iʼve crossed the sea.”

”I see. Thatʼs reassuring. If you need anything, just tell me.”

”Yes.” Rui nodded.

Seeing Rui was fine, Noelʼs expression turned serious. ”In that case, I think I should tell you about a few matters, especially political situations.”

”Yes. Iʼm aware that the situation has most likely deteriorated because of my presence, so I want to know how it will affect you, me, and everyone else.”

Noel nodded. He began to explain to her the political situations, especially his current enemies.

As for the Ardagan family, he had to wait until they returned. After all, the situation over there must have changed, considering the enemies wouldnʼt allow them to grow anymore.

No, they would even do anything they could to destroy the Ardagan family while he was away.

Rui crossed her arms. ”So, you have enemies both in front and behind you?”

”Something like that. I believe that the enemies behind me will be taken care of by someone else later, but for now, I still have to handle them.

”Regarding the enemy in front of me, I have thought of multiple ways to defeat them, but as I expect, I really need to become a spirit king first.”

Rui raised her eyebrows. ”You have enough Ena to actually become a spirit king, right? If Iʼm not wrong, Miss Anna was the one who absorbed the last ancient demon crystal.”

”Indeed. In terms of spiritual energy, I have reached the threshold. Still, just like the transcendent path, I need to find something that allows me to become a spirit king.”

”Thatʼs going to be hard.”

”I know.” Noel nodded in agreement. Still, he already had a lead for this king path.

Ardagan had told him during their stay on the island.

”If you want to know how to get stronger, you need to use all the items he has left behind. Theyʼre the key to your next growth.

”As you already know, the enemies this time will most likely consist of two demon kings and a lot of ancient demons. No, the jade possessor might even become a threat for us, so you have to be careful.

”Your wife might even need to become a spirit king herself. Considering you have enough spiritual energy, it wonʼt be bad to give her the demon crystals, hoping that she has enough time to reach the threshold and find her king path.”

When Noel recalled them, he knew that the situation had completely changed. While managing territory was a good thing, he might have to focus on his individual power.

If Tristan was doing alright this time, he was thinking about delegating a few things to him to ease his burden, which allowed him to have more time to find the king path.

Noel crossed his arms. ”For the time being, we will be waiting for the enemies to make a move and respond to it. I have been trying to find more information, but theyʼre simply too sneaky. And most likely, they will be able to pull a trick or two on my disciple.”

”So, the first thing we need to do is recover.”

”Yeah.”

”I see. I understand. I will use that time to learn more about the lands so that they donʼt look at me with weird eyes.”

”Thank you. I appreciate it. If you need anything, just tell me about it.”

”Yes.”

”In that case, weʼll take our leave.”

…

Zaecuria Kingdom.

The people were anxious.

The king couldnʼt help but pinch the bridge of his nose. ”Have we received any information from the ship?”

”Not yet, Your Majesty.”

”Itʼs been two months since they first began their expedition…” The king sighed.

”Yes. We arenʼt sure how long the trip will take, but according to the original plan, Mr. Noel is planning to stay one to two months over there depending on the situation. Hence, I believe we should wait for three months at the very least.”

The king nodded in understanding. He was anxious. ”Well, the Ardagan family might need both him and his wife as soon as possible. While itʼs true their existence is terrifying, itʼs best if they can survive.”

”Yes…” The minister next to him had mixed emotions.

But it seemed they didnʼt have to wait any longer.

”Your Majesty. Your Majesty!” A minister slammed open the door while waving the small letter in his hand. ”We finally received news from them. The expedition… is successful!”
