Chapter 1290 Drugs

Bang!

Khalid slammed open the door, startling the three people inside. Your next chapter awaits on My Virtual Library Empire

Tristan opened his mouth as if he wanted to say something, but the words stuck in his throat the moment he saw Khalidʼs excited, big smile. This was a rare occasion, considering Khalid usually had a tired or serious expression.

”Khalid. What are you doing? Why are you so excited?” Dimitri let out a sigh.

”Iʼve completed it.” Khalid took out a small bottle.

”Completed what?” Dimitri tilted his head in confusion.

”Mmhm? I remembered reading it somewhere. Is it the Spirit Awakening Drug? The one you started when Master recruited you into the family?” Tristan raised his eyebrows.

”Yeah! Back then, the lord and the lady consumed the prototype drug, allowing them to gain a spirit transformation, which significantly boosted their power.” Khalid nodded furiously.

Dimitri obviously knew about the transformation. ”Then whatʼs the difference between this drug and the prototype?”

With a smug smile on his face, he declared, ”This is the Perfect Spirit Awakening Drug. It will stimulate your spiritʼs potential, allowing you to gain a transformation.

”It might look the same at first glance, but the efficacy of this pill has been maximized. Compared to the prototype, it has a 70% increase in efficacy. In addition, thereʼs no need to worry about the side effects anymore.

”Back then, the lord and the lady were already so strong that they could ignore the side effects, but these pills could be beneficial for lower-level people.”

”Hoh?” Dimitri blinked a few times.

”Well, the lord and the lady should also eat this to maximize the effect as well, which I will suggest when they return.”

Dimitri crossed his arms. ”Have you tried it? You know, this is still an unregistered medicine.”

Khalid shook his head. ”What do you mean? I havenʼt tried it. After all, Iʼm just a weakling who canʼt even awaken my spirit. All this spiritual energy came from me absorbing the demon crystals I bought with my money.”

Dimitri was speechless. ”Are you planning to present this to the lord?”

”Yeah. Iʼm confident about this one.” He nodded. ”In fact, thanks to this pill, I have come up with a few ideas for my next projects. They are the Spirit Inducing Pill, the Spirit Affinity Pill, and the Spirit Berserk Pill.

”The Spirit Inducing Pill will be for people like me. It will help induce the connection with the spirit. I came up with this idea because the lord has told me that everyone has a spirit in their body. They have just never awakened it.

”As the name implies, the second pill will increase the synchronization with the spirit, resulting in the increase of oneʼs absorption rate.

”Last but not least is the berserk pill. It will allow you to stimulate the connection between you and spirit, inducing a burst of reaction that will replicate the effect of a True Spirit Body. Basically, if you use the transformation and this berserk pill, it will produce a pseudo True Spirit Body. It wonʼt be comparable to the true body, but it will help a lot.”

”…” Tristan looked shocked. They were definitely something that everyone desired if there was no side effect.

Tristan fell into deep thought. ”Is it possible to sell this or use it as a bargaining chip?”

”!!!” Dimitri turned to Tristan in shock. Although he couldnʼt come up with an answer immediately, the fact that he questioned it meant he had gradually understood what it meant to be a lord.

Dimitri glanced back at Khalid, who decided to explain, ”Yes. To be honest, I believe we should sell this. Of course, please allocate 50% of the money to my department. I still want to research those three pills.”

”But selling this kind of medicine all of a sudden requires the approval of the lord. Even though Tristan has been given the authority, I donʼt think something this big should be handled immediately.” Rose decided to break her silence this time. ”Itʼs not that I donʼt trust Tristanʼs ability, but the effect it will bring will be tremendous.”

Tristan smiled. ”Of course. Thatʼs what we should do. However, I believe this pill can be a secret weapon during this unstable time. We canʼt predict everything the enemies will do, so having a secret weapon is good.”

”A secret weapon, huh?” Rose fell into deep thought.

”What are you talking about?” Khalid tilted his head in confusion.

”Theyʼre probably thinking about using this pill to gain the cooperation of someone. For example, Duke Lorelei. If he gets involved, we will be able to stop anything that the enemies throw at us. As for the sales, it will wait until the lord returns.”

”Ah.” Khalid nodded.

”Yes. And you can continue with the research. The budget allocation should still be enough for the time being, right?”

”Definitely.” Khalid agreed. ”Thanks to the territory, we could find a lot of unexplored ruins nearby, which gives me a lot of medicine to play with. So, this land is like a treasure trove for me.”

Tristan nodded. ”In that case, all we need to do is to get people to test it. Letʼs see… Death row inmates?”

”Yeah. Thatʼs the best target for this kind of testing. Anything can happen during the drug test, so we have to be careful. However, we donʼt really have any death row inmates with spirits.

”We should have caught some members from the Supreme Devil Organization. Or maybe we can ask the Demon Banner Army or Marquis Stargaze to send some inmates to us.” Dimitri agreed. ”However, Iʼm a bit reluctant to rely on the Demon Banner Army, since it will make us owe them.”

”Marquis Stargaze, huh?” Tristan nodded. ”I understand. I will write a letter to him. If itʼs not possible, Iʼm thinking about sending it abroad.”

”Abroad?” Dimitriʼs eyes widened. ”Donʼt tell me. Ezenholm family? Or the entire Greenwood Kingdom?”

”Depend. I can only rely on the Ezenholm family for the time being. The Greenwood Kingdom wonʼt trust my words so easily. The bigger scale will have to wait until Master returns.”

”You donʼt have to,” Rose interjected with a solemn expression.

”…” The three guys tilted their heads to her.

Rose simply said, ”You donʼt have to call them. I will do it. Give me the pill.”
