System vs Rebirth

Chapter 1276 : Buying Time

ʼI can win by exhausting his energy for a bit. He has fought two ancient demons, so I should have enough energy to deal with him as long as I keep this up.ʼ Xishui took a deep breath and jumped forward.

Noel, on the other hand, struck his foot from below and flipped him upside down.

However, such a thing didnʼt affect him. Xishui simply dropped another kick from above, shattering the ground underneath Noelʼs feet.

Ice Wave.

Ice crystals emerged from the ground, forcing Xishui to propel himself upward to avoid the blast. However, more ice crystals appeared one after another like a wave that tried to chase him.

As a result, Xishui floated in the air.

ʼI can understand that my condition and Heisk are not enough, but I donʼt think we would be at such a disadvantage,ʼ said Noel inwardly.

[You are just busy taking care of your injury from the two ancient demons earlier with your Force Control. Itʼs time to take advantage of the other circulation method.]

Noel couldnʼt help but smile. As Ardagan said, he had fixed his injuries. It was time to step up his game.

The other circulation method he had came from Melissa, which allowed him to compute two things at the same time. Of course, if he did it only for one thing, the speed would be cut in half.

In fact, it was the main reason for his continuous release of abilities. That was how he killed the two ancient demons.

And now, Xishui would be experiencing that power.

Xishui kicked the air, diving at a high speed. He put his right foot in front, wanting to smash Noel.

However, Noel waved his sword down first.

Divine Slash.

The kick and the Divine Slash clashed for a second. Ultimately, the Divine Slash was broken, but the kick also lost most of its power.

When Xishui wanted to suppress him, Noel surprisingly released another Divine Slash.

”!!!” Xishui hurriedly kicked the air to propel himself away, but the ice energy from the Divine Slash sparked, causing his foot to be influenced by that freezing energy.

ʼWhat? His speed suddenly increases? No, his speed remains the same, but…ʼ Xishui noticed what was going on.

As he understood it, Noel had prepared another attack.

Eternal Frozen.

”Kh!” Xishui jumped away, but both of his legs were covered in ice. It was thin, but the freezing property made his legs go numb a bit. ”You bastard!”

He broke it with more spiritual energy and kicked the air.

Noel leaped into the air this time, flying into the air with his ice wings. It was as if he wanted to fight Xishui in the air.

Xishui thought he was superior to a bird in the sky. After all, he kicked the air and moved much faster than that of a bird.

Like what happened last time, Noel struck him with the Divine Slash, stopping his attack with brute force.

When Xishui moved away, he unleashed the second Divine Slash. This time, Xishui had understood Noelʼs speed and managed to avoid the Divine Slash with minimum movement and launched himself toward Noel right after.

Noel wanted to use another attack, but Xishui wouldnʼt let him. His kick released a crescent-shaped attack, which forced Noel to stop his attack and block this.

As a result, Xishui managed to approach him and kicked his sword directly.

Both of them ended up exchanging several blows. Xishuiʼs plan was to keep them close enough that Noel couldnʼt release his powerful attack.

However, this was a mistake on his part. He should have tried his best to kill Noel as quickly as possible.

Because of his action, he didnʼt realize that Rui had actually returned to the Ui clan.

”What did you say?” Dhui stood up in shock.

”We were attacked by three ancient demons. We managed to kill them, but it was all planned by Xishui. His aim was to kill us, which would deal a crippling blow to the Ui clan.”

”Are they…” Dhui gasped. He never thought his daughter would be fleeing like this. Even though it was good to inform him about this matter, he never raised his daughter as a coward.

As if understanding his worries, Rui shook her head. ”Sir Noel was the one killing the two ancient demons while conserving his energy. It seemed he had realized Xishui was the culprit.

”And he used his second spiritʼs True Spirit Body to hold him off, allowing me to relay this message to you.

”I donʼt know what is happening, but according to Miss Anna, he is planning to exhaust him. If you move now, you should be able to kill Xishui. And with this, we will weaken the north. Even if I leave after that, there wonʼt be any threat to the Ui clan, allowing me to leave at ease.”

”Sir… Miss…” Dhui had realized what was going on. If she acknowledged Noel like that, it was clear that she was telling the truth. Noel was capable of killing two ancient demons and fighting another spirit transcendence by himself.

Dhuiʼs expression darkened.

”Alright. You can come with me at your pace. Iʼll go there with my full speed. If we can really kill Xishui today, we will be able to ensure the clanʼs stability for at least fifty years.” Dhui nodded.

Dark light started to leak out of his body. A black pattern started to appear on his back and spread to all his body.

A single horn appeared on his forehead as his eyes turned bloodshot.

”Iʼm going.”

Rui clasped her hands. ”Yes, Father. Please be careful and return triumph.”

Her father disappeared into thin air as the shadow flickered. If Noel was here, he would see that Dhuiʼs real power was actually similar to his butler, Dimitri.

However, with him being a spirit transcendence, it was clear he had much more mastery over it. He would have asked for some advice so that Dimitri could advance to the next stage.
