Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 1051: Chapter 157: Calamity Corps 2

The term ”Calamity Corps” has similar descriptions across different civilizations and influences.

For instance, the simplest example, ’Intelligent Machinery Crisis’ is also called ’Intelligent Machinery Celestial Calamity’, and ’Mechanical Cage’ is also referred to as ’Cage Celestial Calamity’. As long as you don’t go as far as describing players as the fourth cosmic calamity following ’Formless’, ’Organic’, and ’Fallen’, there’s no problem.

As for whether some cosmic influences will discover this in the late game.

Gao Gong decided to be bold.

After all, if the ”Three Cosmic Calamities” can’t be overcome, all civilization influences will fall.

Before this, if one’s camp is developed to the rank of advanced civilization, and as the most combat-ready among advanced civilizations, in the face of the threat from the three cosmic calamities, those advanced civilizations will probably take a appeasement route.

In the past life, the reason players were made into biological cans and brain machines was mainly not because of their chaos and evil but because they couldn’t fight.

”You’ve come at the right time, I have something to discuss with you.”

Turtle Jes put down the cards in his hand, gave his seat to others, and gestured for Gao Gong to follow.

A door suddenly appeared on the wall of the subspace.

”Hmm, you seem different from before.”

Jes looked back, surprised, scrutinizing Gao Gong.

As an ”Advanced Carbon-Based Creature”, it is possible to freely adjust the distance between cells, naturally allowing for arbitrary height adjustments, which plays a critical role in the hybrid business in the cosmos.

Gao Gong absorbed a portion of the ’Leviathan Bloodline’, his body swelled to 40 or 50 meters, but after entering this subspace, he reverted to his previous form.

However, the details were somewhat different, his hair strands were thicker, his muscles were stronger, especially within his clothes, from the spine to the waistline, a whole central axis lined with ’coin-sized’ ’whale holes’.

In total, there were one hundred ’whale holes’, which according to Gao Gong’s speculation, should correspond to the ’Leviathan System’, 100% transformation space.

Moreover, the modification by the space bloodline seems impossible to change through ’form change’.

”Have I become more handsome?” Gao Gong smiled.

”Boss, I am a reptile order - Testudines - Turtle family intelligent organism. With my aesthetics, if you want to look handsome, you should first become turtle man.” Jes rolled his eyes.

”Makes sense!”

The two entered another layer of subspace.

”Welcome to our arrival, Captain Cybertron.”

”Hello, DK51.”

Gao Gong greeted the artificial intelligence.

”Hey, ’Qi People’ fully restored?”

In this space, besides the two who entered, there was only a gaseous creature nearly three meters tall.

This was precisely one of the earliest four ’intelligence officers’, a gaseous energy creature, Level 4 mercenary ’Qi People’.

”Qi People’s body has recovered, the hydrogen and oxygen content has reached normal standards inside, and logically speaking, he should have woken up, but he hasn’t regained consciousness.”

In the four major systems, many people think carbon-based creatures have the strongest recovery ability, but this is not true. Carbon-based creatures are only the strongest individual combat power; in terms of recovery ability, energy creatures are actually in the top tier.

As long as there is energy around, regardless of the injury suffered, energy creatures can fully recover.

Some higher-level energy creatures can even directly draw energy from ’Cosmic Background Radiation’.

This means that to them, the entire cosmos is a power bank, no matter where they are.

Therefore, in the ’mercenary’ industry, energy creatures are very common, for no other reason than their powerful survival capabilities.

Aside from some large mercenary corps leaders, Level 4 mercenaries are the upper limit of the ’Lone Wolf Stream’.

”Even if he can’t wake up, take a look at its face.”

Turtle Jes flicked his fingers, and ripples started to quickly form at the position of ’Qi People’s’ head, revealing a blurry old face.

Silver eyebrows, hooked nose, eyes as black as black holes.

”Old Walter!”

Gao Gong was also surprised; he didn’t expect ’Qi People’ to have the same old face as seen on Long-horned Whale Alpha.

”We preliminarily conclude that during the previous sweeping operations, ’Qi People’s’ consciousness was absorbed by Old Walter. However, due to the traits of energy organisms, the body automatically recovered, creating this anomaly.” DK51 said.

Jes’s expression showed both joy and worry:

”The advantage of this situation is theoretically we can use ’Qi People’s’ body to directly communicate with ’Old Walter’, to find out what really happened on that resource planet.”

”But the downside is, once discovered by ’Old Walter’, he might use this body to reverse-invade us.”

”What do you mean?” Gao Gong asked.

”In this state, ’Qi People’ is harmful to us without any benefits, but for some influences aiming for Long-horned Whale Alpha, it’s a great channel. Find a buyer and sell it, then we’ll split the money three ways,” Turtle Jes said with a sly smile.

”...”

Apparently, this kind of ’human trafficking’ wasn’t their first time, consistent with Gao Gong’s perception of interstellar mercenaries.

As for why they approached him, it seemed they had their eyes on the ’Calamity Corps’ that employed him.

Gao Gong didn’t immediately respond, thought it through, and spoke: ”Why don’t you call ’Fern’ here? Isn’t the Leviathan Tribe behind him also a major buyer?”

Turtle Jes pouted and said, ”I certainly called him, but he doesn’t think to earn money, shockingly wants freebies, which we can’t accept, so we fell out, risking lives just for the credit points, after all.”

Gao Gong thoughtfully said: ”Seems like that ’Kun’s Child’ isn’t wealthy now.”

The last failed star attack resulted in so many dead Sky Giant Beasts. This time, to regroup, especially assembling a fleet, must bleed assets.

The landlord’s granary is empty too.

”Fine, I’ll ask them. Whether they agree depends on their decision.”

”Good brother, if this deal goes through, I’ll give you an extra share,” Turtle Jes said delightedly.

Gao Gong echoed with a smile, while internally planning to wait for Gao Yuanyuan to come, directly hack into ’Qi People’s’ brain for a probe.

As for spending money, kidding, do you think I’m that kind of person?

...

After consecutive probing failures, intelligence officers from various influences became cautious and were observing for now.

Generally speaking, regarding disputes over resource planets, it never happens more than thrice.

The Walter Clan, among powerful competitors, captured this resource planet once.

Old Walter and Kun’s Child’s planetary contest was the second.

The upcoming planetary war is the third.

If they endure through one more challenge, surrounding interstellar influences will, by default, consider this planet part of the Walter Clan.

Everyone is now concerned about the Leviathan Giant’s third challenge.

As for ’Calamity Corps’, who are they? Never heard of them.

Only Turtle Jes and Artificial Intelligence DK51 hope the ’Calamity Corps’ really had the strength to attack the planet.

Because only with the strength to attack a planet can they have the money power to buy intelligence.

And with everyone eagerly anticipating, on the interstellar high-speed closest to Long-horned Whale Alpha, one interstellar battleship after another appeared; each at least nearly 10,000 meters long, and as the interstellar fortress slowly sailed out of space, it was as if a continent was jutting out.

”Mechanical Serpent Constellation, we’re here!”

”This darned Long-horned Whale Alpha!!”

”The scene animation finally finished; how does this lame game not have a skip button.”

”Start now, start now!”

These battleships hurried forward, without any plots or schemes, heading straight for the planet.
