Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 1068: Chapter 174: Malignant Cloning 1

”Stepmother, should we activate the Planet Cannon?”

At this moment, all Walter cadres still on the planet had left the Starport, floating in mid-air, staring blankly at the massive hole in the atmosphere above.

The almost solidified golden atmosphere had been torn open, creating a super hole with a diameter of 400 km and a depth approaching 5000 km.

A large amount of stabilizer debris was falling from the sky, along with numerous small black dots, each one a Tier 2 Warrior.

Without instructions, the planet’s defense system had spontaneously begun operating, various anti-aircraft weapons, energy rocket clusters, and atmospheric weapons started to block the hole.

But everyone knew this was only a temporary measure; the countdown to the planet’s fall had already begun.

”Old Three, did he fail?”

Only a Tier 3 Top-level power like Old Three could tear the energy atmosphere apart, just like that group of Space Giant Beasts did before.

And only his failure could allow the enemy’s strong forces to free up, taking advantage of us saving Old Eight, to open a small gap in the atmospheric defense circle, and explode the atmosphere at a speed beyond the monitoring system.

”Stepmother, should we activate the Planet Cannon?”

That Walter asked again.

”It’s too late,” a Walter resembling a green-skinned infant, standing less than three feet tall, spoke.

Indeed, it was too late.

Many Walters knew this.

The Planet Cannon, also known as the Equatorial Cannon, operates by using the densely arranged ’Star Energy Storage Devices’ on the equator as the cannon loop, with the front half of the planet as the barrel, and the back half as the base, of course, the reverse also applies.

During attack, circle after circle of ’Star Energy Storage Devices’ would channel energy forward.

Finally, under system guidance, it releases on a continent of said planet at the cost of destroying that land.

However, its method of energy usage results in its attack range becoming a ’90-degree’ fan shape.

That’s why, when three Interstellar Fortresses are positioned at 120-degree directions, it can only destroy one Interstellar Fortress at most.

Now the situation is completely different.

Previously, because Sky Giant Beasts relied on their tough hide and flesh to penetrate the energy atmosphere, as long as we blasted them, other locations’ battle strength was not a concern.

But now, even if we launch a ’Planet Cannon’ to destroy all enemies in this direction, the cost would be a complete collapse of the atmospheric defense, allowing Celestial Calamity Humanoid Monsters from other directions to infiltrate the planet’s interior, causing even greater destruction.

These ’Humanoid Calamities’ with their overlord capabilities have given all Walters a lasting impression through so many Planet Days in battle.

After a moment’s silence, another Walter spoke:

”So what do we do now?”

”Everyone, rely on ’Planet Cannon’s’ energy storage fortress, conduct layered defense, prevent the enemy forces from merging after entering the planet, and damage the Planet Cannon’s energy supply system.”

”Stop all ship manufacturing at the Starport and focus entirely on Clone production.”

”Activate all family resources; without the family, we are nothing.”

Walter No. 2, the ruthless Green Widow, did not hesitate at this critical moment and directly issued various orders.

”This is just treating the symptoms, not the root cause,” the infant Walter bluntly said.

”Oh, then what do you suggest, Little Jiu?” Green Widow’s mouth curled into a peculiar smile, staring at the other.

The atmosphere became subtle immediately.

Little Nine isn’t No. 9 but No. 99, the latest born clone, he is Old Walter’s most beloved offspring, and a mainstay of Old Walter faction.

Ignoring the dangerous gazes around him, the infant Walter calmly said:

”I think, at the cusp of life and death of the family, all past grievances should be set aside, I propose waking the Godfather and letting him activate the ’Flesh Treasure’.”

The Godfather is the title of respect all cloned Walters have toward Old Walter.

Many Walters from the Green Widow faction immediately widened their eyes in fury.

But there are also a fair number of Walters whose eyes flicker, seeming quite interested in this proposal.

Green Widow fell silent, after a while, she said:

”Even if the Godfather revives, he’s just a Clone, may not have the ability to turn the tide.”

She paused, using a cold, severe gaze to silence No. 99, then continued.

”However, this is a method, after all, only he can contact the forces supporting us behind the scenes, possessing the Genetic Code to unlock the Flesh Treasure.”

”Do you agree?” No. 99 tightly stared into her eyes.

”I will transfer the highest authority of the cloning base to you, you awaken him, you know better than me where his clone body is, don’t you?”

No. 99’s expression tightened, suspecting that what he did in the Dark Land had already been discovered.

But surprisingly, Green Widow just hinted at it, then immediately left, seemingly choosing to retreat in this time of crisis.

Leaving with her were many of the Green Widow faction, as the alarms from various parts of the planet echoed, Walters also left one by one, eventually leaving only No. 99 standing.

”Did she just give up family authority like that?”

After receiving the ’family highest authority,’ No. 99 mumbled.

However, soon, the childish voice turned hoarse and dark.

”Haha, if she really gave up authority so easily, wouldn’t have gone to such lengths to inquire about my clone consciousness, cooped up with my dear son after my death, and nearly deleted all my clone consciousness. If I hadn’t stored the last personality in your mind as a precaution, it might’ve been destroyed by her, right now.”

”If not for all clone consciousness being eradicated, how else would my revival methods delay activation, leading to family authority inevitably shifting to her, that venomous woman!”

Thinking back to this woman’s various obsequious manners, and her behind-the-scenes scandalous antics with his dear son, ’Old Walter’s’ consciousness now feels extremely furious.

”Godfather, what should we do now?”

”No matter her intentions, first reclaim my Clone, once we launch the ’Dinner Party,’ no matter what kind of enemy, it will perish under the bloody dinner, after all, this comes from terrifying forces beyond the star system.”

...

Green Widow summoned everyone and reached a cloning lab known only to her, as the door of the lab gradually opened, a meticulously adjusted Cloning Pod sat in the center, accompanied by cold air, and a green-skinned bald giant man sat up.

Yet, compared to the previously domineering Hulk, No. 3 now had a pale complexion, and his aura dropped from Tier 3 to Tier 2, just waking up, he suddenly clutched his head, forehead veins bulging.

”What happened to you?! Why did you fail! Do you know the family’s situation after your failure?” Green Widow snapped.

”I... hiss~ the enemy has comparable Tier 4 strength, also... he has a very strange method... give my body back, this body is the owner!!”

No. 3 roared, features contorting, each vein, each piece of flesh behind it seemed controlled by personalities, the sound emitted not resembling what a human could produce.

”Malignant Clone?” Green Widow’s expression changed, said.
