Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 1053: Chapter 159: Long-horned Whale Defensive Line 2

[Alliance Task: Planet Outpost]

Difficulty: Unknown 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ

Task Brief: Every faction must have its own territory for resource acquisition to engage in technology development and production. Long-horned Whale Alpha is a super planet with resource levels comparable to a fixed star. Controlling this planet, with its stellar-level planetary assets, allows you to achieve a technological explosion within the alliance.

Task Objective: Occupy Long-horned Whale Alpha

Task Rewards: Alliance Asset*1, Alliance Blueprint*3, Leader Template Mission Fragment*1, Leader Reputation +5000

Note: Go and reach for the stars, boy.

Gao Gong glanced at the task list and immediately focused on the distant planet.

He knew very well that taking down this planet would really depend on the players.

...

Planet-level battles are of an immense scale.

A sphere with a diameter of 10,000 km theoretically means any point can serve as an attack point.

When General Quel chose several key attack domains, the minimum range for energy cannon bombardment was at least 100 km.

Just looking at the scale can make an outsider feel numb, like a fan of action movies during Wise Man’s Time.

But as someone involved, it felt extremely thrilling.

After being teleported by the traction beam, the first thing Red Flower Demon saw was clouds steaming and glowing with magnificent colors. These scenes, akin to Fire Cloud, were the sight of energy atmospheres ignited, creating a scorching visual within the naked eye’s range.

”This is probably more powerful than a large nuclear bomb,” Red Flower Demon muttered to himself.

As a player, the strongest weapon one could get was a nuclear bomb. He and his buddies once completed a mission obtaining one and had the chance for a close-up view of the nuclear fission fireworks. But the ’fireworks’ they released paled in comparison to the ’Fire Cloud’ before them, with at least an energy level difference of one decimal place.

Amidst the ’Fire Cloud’, thousands of ’Rainbow Light’ flashes would occasionally streak across, disappearing like after a rainstorm. Whenever the rainbow swept by, the surrounding energy fog would disperse, turning into ’drizzling’ droplets, triggering intense warnings from one’s ’alert system’.

Through his electronic field of view, one could clearly see players sprayed by ’energy droplets’ having their bodies dissolve, resembling the effects of sulfuric acid. Not even bodies reinforced with Secondary Carbon Fusion, capable of withstanding rocket attacks, could withstand this ’super sulfuric acid’.

Even the aftermath is unstoppable, let alone these ’rainbows’, which are marks left by standard starship energy cannons.

”Hey, hey, hey, Brother Da, where are you?”

Red Flower Demon snapped out of it, immediately activating the heavy armor on his back. Energy particles surged out, transforming into an energy cloak, instantly breaking the sound barrier, descending tens of thousands of meters in a few breaths.

Meanwhile, the Artificial Intelligence’s voice sounded.

’Warning, Warning, excessive high-energy zones, system computational power reached the limit.’

”Trash, should’ve known better than to cheap out buying low-end chips from Baozi. Damn Baozi always screwing me over!”

Red Flower Demon cursed the con artist, pushing aside the face shield while constantly scanning with his electronic eye and AI chip. Often seeing different types of players’ bodies devoured in the atmosphere along the way.

”Brother Da, Brother Da, sizzle——”

The communication channel built into the mecha directly failed due to interference from the energy magnetic field.

After descending past the second ’energy isolation belt’, he saw a mecha body floating in a vacuum.

”Damn, Brother Da you’re dead!”

Red Flower Demon quickly flew over, grabbing the mecha, discovering three fist-sized holes in its chest, one of which ignited the inbuilt reactor.

But on the contrary, Red Flower Demon breathed a sigh of relief because this ’Earth Element Excavation Model’ was an unmanned mecha; this buddy likely wasn’t dead.

In such a high-energy environment, communication was severed, but players naturally have ways to contact others. Opening the system forum, finding the task avatar, directly private message —

’Brother Da, you’re dead or what?’

’No, I didn’t go down.’

’Huh?’

’Who told you I’d be the first to go down? Those who went down were just my unmanned mecha squad. Ten mechas in total, with six already lost, three communication interrupted, just one remaining. You can try contacting it.’ Gao Da

’Damn, you didn’t go down yourself, yet you let me team up with you!?’

Red Flower Demon was shocked that someone could be so shameless. Is this still the righteous-hearted Brother Da he idolized?

’Nonsense, you think the AT Force Field Emitter I installed for you was for free? That’s a top-tier Tier 2 mecha component. Oh, which layer have you reached now?’

Given the situation, Red Flower Demon could only swallow his anger, thinking:

’Around the third layer of energy atmosphere, I passed through two vacuum zones, where the energy levels were very low.’

’You better hurry, if you don’t breach the atmosphere soon, once it seals up, breaking into the planet’s surface will be ten times harder. Have you heard of Amber Insect? At that point, you’ll be the ’Amber-ed’ insect.’

’Damn it!’

Red Flower Demon cursed angrily, directly closing the forum and simultaneously activating the AT Force Field Emitter.

’Tier 2 Alliance Technology’ — ’AT Force Field’

Instantly, a faint red shield enveloped the entire mecha, different from the usual energy shield. Once this shield appears, Biological Energy visibly rises. Even Red Flower Demon, the Bionic Man, felt an indescribable comfort, like returning to the mother’s embrace.

Moreover, this ’AT Force Field’ seemed to have special effects against energy attacks, repelling most incoming energy fluctuations and particle tides.

It appeared to be some sort of special biological defense mechanism.

Fourth layer, Fifth layer, Sixth layer...

When Red Flower Demon reached the seventh layer, a beam of white light visible only to players appeared.

He was done for.

He hadn’t even seen an enemy.

...

And this also reflects the usual state of interstellar war. In most interstellar wars, from start to finish, no living person is seen.

Only the unique war form known as ’Battle for the Star’ can cause close combat scenarios, but even achieving that isn’t easy.

’Down.’

’Down +1’

’Down +2’

’Down +3’

...

’Down +10086’

’Master, I’ve realized the essence of planet wars lies in a pass-through mini-game.’

Players transition from the shock of being slain, to anger, self-deprecation, to being speechless, even experiencing a strange pleasure.

This time, the dog planner finally listened.

Regardless of being high-end players or noobs, mechanical or carbon-based, overlord or evolved, all are treated equally in death.

Is this fair to speak of?

Ultimately, a player couldn’t help but speak.

’I’m asking, did anyone get through the atmosphere and kill those below?’

’Impossible!’

’Absolutely impossible!’

’Such an existence can’t possibly exist in this world!’

’If there is, I’ll stream myself eating shit!’

Dida looked around at the crystalline environment, silently deleting the words he had prepared to send.

...

Meanwhile, as the air-drop tactic continued, on another battlefield, the Walter Star Thief Fleet, emerging from Long-horned Whale Alpha, engaged the Calamity Corps.

It turns out Level 3 Civilization products truly boast a solid foundation.
