Starting as a Mechanical Hunter

Chapter 1055: Chapter 161: Long-horned Whale Defense Line 4

In ordinary interstellar influences, Tier 2 planet exploration warriors are already the backbone.

Even in first-rate interstellar influences, Tier 2 warriors are still elites. Without Tier 3 transformation technology, it’s impossible to have Tier 3 soldiers.

Even super first-rate influences like the Leviathan Tribe and the Walter Clan, which possess methods to mass produce Tier 2 species, don’t have limitless resources.

For example, in the previous battle with Leviathan, the Walter Clan lost at least five million members, and for this counterattack, they’ve invested another three million Tier 2 troops.

The resources required to clone so many Tier 2 warriors alone are astronomical. Without occupying this resource planet, not even Old Walter could orchestrate such an overlord strategy. Even the mighty Leviathan Tribe suffered the loss of hundreds of space giant beasts instantly.

But what’s going on with this ’Calamity Corps’?

According to incomplete statistics, in just three planet days, this Calamity Corps deployed nearly ten million Tier 2 forces to the planet’s surface.

This isn’t part of a ’tactical spearhead’ or beheading strategy.

It’s a widespread network, full map coverage. Wherever the atmosphere breaks, they deploy tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands, prioritizing not fearing waste.

”Damn, I’ve never seen this kind of tactic,” muttered an intelligence officer from an interstellar force.

The Tier 2 strength on their turf, even if counted fully, would scarcely amount to 100,000.

Too terrifying!

Truly terrifying!

”Boss, you say the Calamity Corps hired you, what’s their background——”

Turtle Jes wanted to ask Gao Gong, but as he turned his head, he was astonished to find Gao Gong, who was originally standing next to him, had vanished.

...

In the Virtual Maze, the long-missing Rich Lady Love Prototype came online once more.

Gao Gong scrutinized the long-unvisited ’Virtual Maze’; the maze walls on both sides had been replaced by Tier 3 virtual code. Virtual code, unlike regular code, doesn’t have a fixed type, like machine code, assembly language, or advanced language. It can be applied to any virtual level’s application.

As for beneath the maze floor, it’s an inverted world where sparse figures are vaguely seen walking around.

”Looks like the framework for Cyber Space is complete, just missing hardware.”

”Brother!!”

Gao Gong looked up, only to see a flash of virtual white light, and a white-dressed, skirt-clad girl appeared, akin to a beautiful sister next door, giving off a mix of friendliness and warmth.

Gao Yuanyuan familiarly grasped Gao Gong’s hand, revealing a slightly playful yet aggrieved expression:

”Brother, you only think of me when you have something to do, and forget me when you’re done.”

Gao, thick-skinned as ever, showed no signs of shame, greeting her with a head pat and lovingly said, ”I’m busy, aren’t I? Brother here wants to conquer a planet soon, to create a virtual realm for you to move freely.”

”Yeah! I’ll help brother too!”

”Let’s go, let’s check on that Old Walter’s current situation.”

Gao Yuanyuan pressed her fair hand against the maze wall, and a door appeared, opening as if by wind, revealing the subspace environment. Qi People still floated in mid-air, though their skin was now covered in alien codes.

This is the strength of Tier 3 virtual life; for them, unencrypted spaces are like networks without a firewall, effortlessly hackable.

”Hey, brother, there’s an artificial intelligence here; should I hack it?”

Despite her gentle nature, Gao Yuanyuan, who was born in the Cyber Test Field, is essentially black within.

”No need for now, just bypass it,” Gao Gong rejected the suggestion. An AI mixed in the black market surely has cards up its sleeve; he didn’t want trouble at this moment.

”Alright, brother, huh?”

Gao Yuanyuan dragged the Rich Lady Love Prototype straight into the source code level of the opposing party, familiarly moving through layers of alien codes. If they are not at Tier 3, virtual code can seamlessly integrate into any program, even unnoticed by the original party. If a virtual personality is edited, it may even secretly control the other party.

Gao Yuanyuan’s current means could almost rival her past ’fortress’.

Fortunately, Gao Gong stopped her actions.

”Brother, these codes are toxic.”

Gao Yuanyuan’s small face became slightly grave, her finger flicked, and the alien codes seemed to come alive, transforming into fluffy, spiked creatures.

Though unable to infiltrate Tier 3 virtual code, they still bounced around them. Gao Gong poked them with the Civilized Stick, exploding into black goo, and sprouted limbs climbing along the stick’s length.

Gao Gong raised an eyebrow as heat emitted from the stick, but before he could act, the ground sank, and a ’Virtual Recycling Station’ appeared, swallowing these odd files, restoring the source code level to normal.

”Brother——”

”Interesting,” Gao Gong switched to the virtual field of view, his fingers shining like stars, pointing in mid-air. Soon the sky darkened, revealing clusters of blood-colored nebula, a jet-black tentacle, and a black sun.

”Evil God Illusion.”

Gao Gong reversed his hand, dispelling the illusions that became an encrypted username list, manifesting three sequences of red symbols.

’Child of the Stars’, ’Master of the 5th Dimension’, ’Blood-colored Star’

”What a contestant, in this AI’s boss list there lurks ’Cosmic Evil God’.”

”Brother, aren’t they afraid of pollution? Wait, can AI be polluted by the Cosmic Evil God?” Gao Yuanyuan curiously asked.

”That’s a good question. Following ’Do Bionic Men Dream of Electric Sheep’, another ethical question emerges for artificial intelligence, ’Can AI be polluted by Cosmic Evil God?’ ”

”My answer is, yes.”

Gao Gong paused, then continued,

”This DK51 number is probably aware. Direct exposure to Cosmic Evil God carries a risk of pollution, so each meeting and briefing, it deletes the ’memory files’ from the recycling station, thus cutting off pollution.”

”But it likely doesn’t realize that the pollution of the Evil God is akin to ’physical rules’; though it deletes plenty, the source code level has been affected, as we previously saw, fearing it won’t escape the fate of pollution in the end.”

”What might artificial intelligence become, if polluted by the Evil God?” Gao Yuanyuan asked.

”It may transform into a cosmic virus; Tier 2 AI, once polluted, might even forcibly ascend a tier, but its core would be destroyed, losing its wisdom, becoming mere minions of the Evil God, a channel for spreading chaos, infecting all contacts. This is the peril within the Interstellar Society, where sometimes danger descends from the heavens, beyond imagination.”

Gao Gong sighed.

When previously transporting players, he encountered a ’Ghost Ship’; if not coincidentally facing a Galen Republic inspection, the Ghost Ship would’ve attacked him.

The Ghost Ship’s background featured a Cosmic Evil God as well.

”Let’s go, its pollution hardly concerns us, we aren’t investigating it, we’re here to investigate Old Walter.”

The two bypassed the AI’s firewall, directly ’entering’ inside Qi People.

”Brother, do you think Old Walter might be polluted too?” Gao Yuanyuan wondered aloud.

”Wouldn’t be that unlucky, right?” Gao Gong twitched his mouth, responded.
