Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 246: Chapter 183: Oranguru Tavern (4k)

Seeing that Dragonite hadn’t mentioned what it just saw, Glaceon snorted softly, turned its red face away, and ran off.

Looking at its back, it had quite the appearance of fleeing in panic, seemingly afraid Naoki would keep pressing for answers.

Naoki: ”...”

Alright then!

Although not sure what happened, he had a feeling asking would make Glaceon upset.

Naoki glanced at Dragonite and prepared to go back inside to continue decorating the room.

Passing the goat pen, he noticed three Gogoats gathered around, infusing a small mound of earth with Grass Energy.

Fresh soil and peeled-off grass were visible around, clearly indicating something just happened here.

Naoki looked surprised. He stepped forward, bent down to look at the small mound, and curiously asked, ”What is this?”

The three Gogoats turned their heads in unison and cheerfully replied, ”Meh!”

Naoki dug into his pocket, pulled out a handful of shelled sunflower seeds, and tossed them into his mouth: ”What?”

Gogoats: ”Meh, meh~” (Digging the soil, planting seeds~)

”Seeds?” Naoki was momentarily confused. What seeds? He had stored all the crop seeds at home in the storage box, so the Gogoats wouldn’t have had a chance to get them.

Noticing his confusion, the Gogoat in the middle explained, ”Meh~” (The seeds you just gave us~)

Naoki suddenly remembered the three Miracle Seeds he bought from town as gifts.

He widened his eyes and couldn’t help but say, ”Those are the items for you to carry, not actual seeds!”

But the three Gogoats looked puzzled, ”Meh?”

Those are clearly seeds!

They could all sense the life force contained within. Once planted in the soil and nurtured with Grass Energy, the seeds would be able to sprout life!

Naoki: ”...”

Seeing the Gogoats looking so convinced, Naoki started doubting whether he remembered wrong.

Could it be that Miracle Seeds could actually be planted?

He carefully recalled information about this carrying item in his mind.

Miracle Seeds... when given to Grass Type Pokemon to carry, it boosts the power of Grass Type Moves.

Besides this function, the seeds also seemed to have medicinal value, used for mixing with herbs to create healing potions and also for making the famous Akala Curry.

Naoki couldn’t figure it out, but seeing the Gogoats’ determined expression, he decided to let them try.

”Then, you should take good care of these three seeds!” Naoki said.

”Meh~”

The three Gogoats nodded happily and continued tending to the seeds buried in the soil.

Naoki turned back to the house to continue decorating the room.

Seeing him return, Keri asked, ”Is everything okay with Dragonite and the others?”

”It’s fine.” Naoki shook his head and guessed, ”Probably because Dragonite saw Glaceon eating ice cream, making Glaceon feel socially awkward.”

”Oh?” Keri was even more surprised.

Naoki explained with a smile, ”Glaceon’s usually quite reserved and aloof, but when it eats something it likes, it shows an adorably clumsy side.”

Previously, he noticed that Glaceon would become utterly engrossed when eating cream ice slush, naturally becoming silly in appearance.

However, he didn’t mention it and pretended not to know.

Hearing this, Keri couldn’t help but chuckle: ”That Glaceon’s personality is quite interesting.”

”Yeah!” Naoki nodded in agreement.

With the efforts of the two and several Machamps, the whole house was set up in less than an hour.

A soft green leaf carpet was laid in the living room, with a light-colored sofa placed on it, and in front of the sofa was a wooden coffee table.

The overall decor style of the living room leaned towards a forest-like, pastoral feel. The warm-toned wallpaper and furniture conveyed a tranquil, natural, and welcoming vibe, with a touch of lively warmth.

Seeing this scene, Naoki imagined himself wearing an apron cooking, and the Pokemon gathered in the living room waiting for dinner.

He couldn’t help but feel a sense of home just thinking about it.

At this moment, the Machamps came out from the cellar.

They stood next to Keri, who understood and smiled slightly: ”Looks like the cellar is set up too, shall we go take a look?”

”Of course!” Naoki nodded.

The two turned and headed to the cellar. Accompanied by a ”click,” the soft light illuminated the whole cellar.

Thirty oak barrels were arranged in six rows, with five barrels in each row.

Though numerous, the cellar didn’t feel overcrowded; rather, it seemed just right.

”It really looks a lot like the cellar in Stardew Valley!” Seeing this scene, Naoki suddenly had this thought.

And Keri remembered something: ”Wait! You should know how to make wine, right?”

”I don’t.” Naoki admitted honestly, saying he had only made wine in games, never trying it in real life.

Keri: ”???”

Seeing her expression, Naoki laughed: ”But don’t worry, Mayor Thomas’s ranch manual has detailed records of the winemaking process, and I can slowly try it out.”

Hearing this, Keri relaxed: ”Then there’s no problem. I see you’ve grown a lot of hops and fruit trees, all of which can be used for winemaking. I’ll come by to sample it when the time comes. In any case, good luck!”
