Chapter 202: Chapter 153: On the Road

Teddiursa’s mind conjured up an image of the gentle, hardworking Dragonite from Naoki Ranch.

In contrast, it seemed worlds apart from this Dragonite here.

Too overwhelming...

Teddiursa was taken aback, worried that it might accidentally get crushed by the other.

Meanwhile, Mew, who had been through many experiences, remained much calmer.

It carried Teddiursa toward the ocean, toward that giant shadow.

Mew flew fast, and within two minutes, they caught up with the giant Dragonite.

Detecting an unfamiliar presence approaching, the giant Dragonite turned its head and saw two figures it had never seen before.

Mew tilted its head, ”miu?”

Initially, Teddiursa felt a bit scared.

But as it got closer, it sensed a deep loneliness emanating from the giant Dragonite.

Teddiursa held its breath and, recalling the Heroic Expedition Team’s motto, couldn’t help but ask:

”一么,一么一么!”（We are the Heroic Expedition Team, have you encountered something? Maybe we can help you!）

Beside it, Mew nodded happily in agreement, ”miu!”

It did not sense any malice from the Pokemon before them.

Upon hearing this, the giant Dragonite looked at the two Pokemon in front of it with a confused expression.

It asked, ”吼呜?”（What is the Heroic Expedition Team?）

Teddiursa explained, ”一么!”（It’s a mysterious organization traveling around the world to help Pokemon in need. The hero is Mew! I’m currently an apprentice hero!）

It gestured to Mew as the hero beside it.

The giant Dragonite looked at Mew and at its beautiful, sky-blue eyes.

”吼呜?” In its almost desperate heart, a spark of hope ignited.

Can you really help? It asked.

Mew nodded and said happily, ”miu!”

The giant Dragonite further asked, ”吼呜?”（Can you help me find my companions?）

These past days, it had been wandering nearby, searching for its companions.

Today, a sound resembling their call lured it here, but it hadn’t seen them nearby.

Find your companions?

Teddiursa and Mew blinked, exchanging glances.

Mew asked, ”miu?”（Are your companions also Dragonites?）

The giant Dragonite nodded its head vigorously and, seeing their expressions, eagerly asked, ”吼呜?”（Have you seen them?）

”一么...” Teddiursa shook its head, thinking it hadn’t seen any other Dragonites around.

Noticing the disappointment in the giant Dragonite’s eyes, Teddiursa spoke again, ”一么,一么.”（However, I do know of a Dragonite, though I’m unsure if it’s your companion. It’s in a far, far-away place.）

It referred to the Dragonite at Naoki Ranch.

Upon hearing this, the giant Dragonite’s eyes lit up instantly.

It eagerly asked, ”吼呜?”（Where is it?）

Teddiursa answered, ”一么.”（In the Paldea Region, there’s one at Naoki Ranch living with Naoki.）

Paldea Region... Naoki Ranch...

The giant Dragonite took note of these two pieces of information.

However, it soon realized it didn’t know the exact location.

”miu～”

Seeing its anxious appearance, Mew smiled, and a blue light flashed through its eyes, sharing its memories of the ranch’s location and Naoki’s appearance.

After learning its companions’ whereabouts, the giant Dragonite hurriedly left.

Its figure gradually disappeared into the ocean, accompanied by a thick mist.

The sea nearby returned to clear weather.

Mew and Teddiursa floated mid-air, gazing at the direction where the giant Dragonite disappeared.

”一么!”

Up next, let’s write a letter to inform Naoki about this matter!

”miu～” Mew gladly agreed.

Having resolved the mysterious shadow incident, the two Pokemon first went to the client Krabby, relaying this news to it.

Upon hearing that the giant Pokemon would no longer come here, Krabby breathed a deep sigh of relief and gratefully thanked the Heroic Expedition Team, planning to treat them to a seaweed feast.

But Mew and Teddiursa declined.

As heroes roaming the world to uphold justice and assist the weak, accepting nothing from the public was their principle.

Upon hearing this, Krabby expressed further gratitude.

And so, Mew and Teddiursa returned to their temporary tree-hole base built with Secret Power.

The two Pokemon found crayons and letter paper in the corner and illustrated today’s events together.

Finally, they entrusted the letter to Pidgeot, whom they met in the forest, asking it to deliver the letter to the ranch.

Pidgeot grabbed the envelope with its claws, chirped happily at Teddiursa and Mew, spread its wide wings, and flew away toward the distance.

————

The next morning, as daylight broke.

Naoki first went to Salt House to check the progress of Diglett’s work, then rode Cyclizar to Keri’s abode.

Walking into the store, Naoki immediately noticed the Calyrex statue displayed on the shelves.

Compared to the ones he carved, Keri’s craftsmanship was incredibly lifelike, almost real.

Naoki approached to take one down for a closer look and asked, ”How’s the sales?”

Keri smiled, ”2000 League Coins each, they’re very popular! Many farmers have purchased statues from me to display at home.”

”I heard them say that if summer’s crops harvest well, they plan to establish a special Thanksgiving in the fall to express their gratitude for Calyrex’s blessings.”

Naoki: ”...”

If Calyrex knew, it would surely feel very happy, wouldn’t it?

So far, Calyrex’s missionary work in the Paldea Region seems to be going quite smoothly.

Whether Calyrex has regained any strength is unknown.

Still, Naoki was here not for this matter, but to inquire about Salt House’s expansion work.

But before he could speak, Keri tossed over a package.

Naoki instinctively caught it with his hands: ”What’s this?”

Keri: ”Profit from the statues.”

Naoki opened the package and, sure enough, found a considerable amount of money inside.

He didn’t refuse; after accepting it, he asked, ”If I want to expand Salt House, how should I prevent the holes excavated from collapsing?”

Keri was somewhat surprised, ”Are you having Naclstack dig down?”

Naoki shook his head, then nodded, ”Not Naclstack, but a Diglett that’s currently working at my ranch.”

After listening, Keri nodded in understanding, ”That’s simple, I’ll come over this afternoon to handle it. You should have Diglett stop for now before it hollows out the underground for you.”

”Alright.” Naoki understood.

After bidding goodbye to Keri, he returned to the ranch.

In the afternoon, while Naoki was at the ranch, preparing a creamy ice smoothie for Glaceon, a distinct Pokemon cry suddenly echoed from outside.

He went out to investigate and saw a Pidgeot landing on his ranch.

In its claws, it held a letter.

Upon witnessing this scene, Naoki’s heart stirred, immediately realizing that Teddiursa had sent him another letter!
