Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 243: Chapter 182: Gifts (Double Release)

The new house is built, and next comes the time to furnish the rooms.

In the afternoon, just after lunch, Naoki rode his Cyclizar to town.

When he reached his destination, Keri was washing dishes. Seeing him approach, she smiled and said, ”Is everything ready?”

”Yes!” Naoki felt quite emotional; after working hard for six months, he finally had his own house: ”The rooms have been cleaned, and as soon as the furniture is moved in, people can live there.”

”That’s good.” Keri nodded, washed her hands in the sink, and then took Naoki to the workshop, handing him a furniture catalog: ”The furniture is all at the factory for now. Take a look at the designs, and if you find one you like, I’ll deliver it to you later.”

Upon hearing this, Naoki nodded slightly. People in this world are quite straightforward, so there’s no need to worry about the ”illustrations are for reference only” situation.

He opened the catalog and started choosing from the dazzling array of furniture inside.

Occasionally, Keri offered suggestions from the side: ”The overall style of that house leans towards a natural wood theme. Wooden and fabric sofas and natural wood coffee tables are very suitable for this style.”

”The dining room and living room are fully open, spacious and bright, with a few potted plants inside; this nature-loving style should be well-liked by Pokemon.”

At that moment, Naoki turned to a light-colored handmade fabric sofa. Imagining what it would look like placed at home, he nodded thoughtfully: ”This is it.”

”You have a good eye.” Keri smiled slightly.

Hearing these words, Naoki felt quite proud.

Next, he chose other furniture from the same series.

Coffee table, tatami bed, desk, TV cabinet, curtains, floor lamp, dining table, wardrobe...

And a large, light-colored carpet with green leaf patterns.

He thought he could spread it in the living room.

Besides this, Naoki also bought a wooden display shelf.

He planned to place all the things Teddiursa had sent back on it to display.

Although Teddiursa was not here, it was still a part of this home.

Keri noted down the items he selected and then asked, ”Do you also want to buy oak barrels for wine making?”

”Of course.” Naoki nodded.

In the past two months, by selling milk, Rock Salt, and crops, he had saved up quite a bit of money. It was convenient to buy everything at once on this trip, saving him from having to come back later.

”I see...” Keri thought for a moment: ”Based on the size of your cellar, it can hold about thirty oak barrels for wine making. Well, since you’re buying so much, I’ll give you a 20% discount this time.”

”Great!” Naoki grinned widely.

Although he wasn’t short on money, who didn’t like a good deal?

Seeing his expression, Keri chuckled: ”Alright then, if you have no other business, head back to the ranch first. I’ll go to the furniture factory later to help deliver your things.”

Naoki acknowledged, about to agree when he suddenly remembered there was something else he needed to do.

”I still need to buy a bar counter and chairs; bring them along when you deliver the other items.”

Once he moved the stuff away, the old house would be empty, and he could take this opportunity to renovate it.

”Alright, add the bar counter and chairs then.” Keri, knowing he planned to make wine and open a tavern, couldn’t help but be curious: ”Are you really opening a tavern? Your ranch is so remote; there may not be any customers.”

”That’s not something you need to worry about.” Naoki showed a mysterious smile: ”I’ve got my own tricks to bring guests to the tavern.”

Though the guests wouldn’t be humans, but Pokemon instead.

Seeing his demeanor, Keri didn’t ask more: ”Alright then, let’s leave it at that!”

Since Naoki Ranch is there, she’ll know the answer one day.

After paying, Naoki left the carpenter shop.

However, he didn’t return to the ranch immediately; instead, he went to the town’s department store with Cyclizar.

Since he arrived in this world, Pokemon had always worked for him, and he had yet to give any Pokemon a gift.

This time, with the house move, he planned to buy a gift for everyone.

As he pondered what gifts the Pokemon on the ranch would like, he stepped into the department store with Cyclizar.

This was a very large department store.

Located by the seaside, Porto Marinada Town is commercially well-developed and trades with other regions, so you can find all sorts of items here.

The mall has three floors with a clothing area, a Trainer supplies area, and a daily necessities area—everything you could wish for.

As the name implies, the clothing area sells clothes, the daily necessities area sells various daily items, and the Trainer supplies area sells things that Trainers might need.

Things like Poke Balls, Berries, Fire Stones, and so on.

Naoki wandered between the shelves, starting to consider what the Pokemon might like.

”Koraidon is lively and flamboyant, yet still has a childlike side; perhaps a ball toy to play with Dragonite would be fitting.”

”Dragonite, although initially intent on becoming stronger, now seems to be slowly changing its mindset, no longer purely pursuing strength.”

Thinking of Dragonite’s adorable demeanor, Naoki wondered if he should get it a Pokemon doll.
