Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 235: Chapter 177: The Tavern’s First Guest

Today’s plans were disrupted by the unexpected arrival of Ninetales. Naoki glanced at the time, realizing he might not make it to the fishing competition.

So he first used the video phone to inform Mayor Thomas that he couldn’t attend, then began dealing with the matter of this Ninetales.

Ninetales lightly raised its four paws and followed inside, its nine golden, fluffy large tails swaying gently behind it, looking dreamlike and somewhat unreal.

Behind it, Cyclizar, Koraidon, Dragonite, Alcremie, and other Pokemon also gathered around, curiously gazing at this mysterious Pokemon.

”Do I need to do anything?” Ninetales asked.

Based on its understanding, places like human-run restaurants, taverns, and cafes usually required payment.

Money...

It seemed it didn’t have any.

This left Ninetales feeling a bit embarrassed, and it started pondering how to acquire money.

Naoki understood what this Ninetales meant.

According to his original plan, the tavern was free of charge.

Of course, if Pokemon wanted to pay, they could offer anything from a Berry, a normal stone, or even a fresh flower, and he would gladly accept it.

From the illusion technique just displayed by Ninetales, its strength must be very formidable.

Since it had telepathy, he didn’t need to eat Translation Nuts.

Naoki thought for a moment and thoughtfully said, ”No need, you just have to wait for a moment.”

Ninetales breathed a sigh of relief and gently nodded, ”Thank you.”

Hearing this, Naoki didn’t say much more, but turned around and started to check the ingredients in the fridge.

The steps to make that dessert were somewhat complicated, requiring ingredients like Alcremie’s cream, cake, and berries.

Fortunately, he hadn’t made cakes much during this period, so the fridge was well-stocked.

Putting what he needed on the kitchen table, Naoki turned to see Ninetales crouched on the ground, waiting.

Looking at this scene, Naoki couldn’t help but think to himself, ”It really suits the tavern’s operating style.”

He began to imagine the scene of the tavern operating.

The kitchen table transformed into a bar counter, a red carpet laid over the wooden floor at the entrance, the fireplace burning brightly, the room warm, and several wild Pokemon drinking and playing in the tavern.

And he, in turn, became a bartender dressed in a suit vest and white shirt, wiping a glass while watching the lively scene before him.

This was a typical medieval tavern style, only replaced with Pokemon, which didn’t seem out of place.

Realizing he still had tasks to accomplish, Naoki refocused his mind and began earnestly making the dish.

As time passed by the second, Ninetales patiently crouched there, waiting.

Its gaze was fixed on the busy human, recalling the moment when Teddiursa and Mew found it not long ago.

They claimed to be from the Heroic Expedition Team, saying they were traveling the world and asked why it was sad.

After learning the reason, those two Pokemon showed a sad expression, but they were helpless in the matter and could only turn away in sorrow.

Ninetales watched their figures disappear. It planned to fall asleep, but unexpectedly, a few days later, the two Pokemon suddenly returned.

They excitedly said that in a distant land, across the sea, there was a magical Pokemon Tavern.

There lived the kindest human in the world, possessing magical abilities to help Pokemon fulfill various wishes.

Ninetales still remembered the expression on Teddiursa’s face when it spoke these words.

It excitedly and enthusiastically said, ”Naoki can help you! Go find him!”

Thus, it came.

To see an old friend’s face and hear her voice one more time, Ninetales, which normally wouldn’t cross the sea, traversed mountains, lakes, and the ocean, arriving at the other side, at this magical little tavern.

Naoki called over Alcremie, instructing it to make fresh caramel cream and evenly spread it over the cake base.

With his actions, a cream cake emitting a sweet fragrance gradually took shape.

Initially, when making it, the kitchen tools were still incomplete, so the cakes produced were rather simple.

Now, with complete ingredients and tools, the cake looked even more refined.

The final step was to cut the Berry into pieces and decorate the cake.

”Done!”

Naoki looked down, and the details of this brand new cream cake immediately appeared in his mind.

[Cream Fruit Cake (Caramel Flavor) (B): A fruit cake made with Alcremie’s hand-whipped cream. Its delicious cream and beautiful appearance make it more attractive.

Cooking Effect: Sweet Dream lv2, allows Pokemon to temporarily forget worries and sadness, to have a sweet dream, and see the people and things they wish to see in the dream, a dessert blessed by the Dream God.

Evaluation: A dessert that brings happiness to both humans and Pokemon.]

”As expected, using higher-grade ingredients also raised the dish’s level,” Naoki thought to himself.

He remembered that last time its level seemed to be D-?

Also, the cooking effect upgraded from lv1 to lv2, with the description now including ”blessed by the Dream God.”

Dream God... In Naoki’s mind appeared a vision of a beautiful figure, seemingly clad in pink gossamer, like a fairy.
