Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 203: Chapter 154: Dudunsparce Comes to Help

Naoki received the letter from Pidgeot’s claws.

The white letter paper was covered with colorful drawings made with crayons.

A Pokemon with two pairs of large pincers, the blue ocean, a lighthouse by the sea, an orange Dragonite, and the moon in the sky.

At the end, there were still two small and cute paw prints stamped.

”Huh?” Naoki looked at the peculiarly shaped Pokemon and guessed, ”Could it be a Krabby?”

The Krabby by the sea and the moon in the sky, perhaps Mew and Teddiursa found this scene beautiful, so they shared it with him through their drawing.

As for the orange Dragonite...

Naoki didn’t think much of it, he just thought Teddiursa and Mew encountered a wild Dragonite outside.

After admiring the drawing, he put away the letter and stopped Pidgeot, who was about to fly away, asking Cyclizar to grab a box of Poffins to give it.

Smelling the Poffins, Pidgeot, who initially had no particular expression and was only fulfilling a commission, immediately showed a happy expression.

”Pidg!”

Seeing its reaction, Naoki smiled and asked, ”By the way, Pidgeot, can you still find Mew and Teddiursa?”

He mainly wanted to send them some food.

Upon hearing this, Pidgeot thought carefully and, feeling a little troubled, let out a growl indicating it didn’t know either.

Because the Heroic Expedition Team is constantly moving.

If they had left the familiar forest, Pidgeot wouldn’t be able to find them.

Judging by Pidgeot’s demeanor, Naoki roughly guessed its meaning, nodded, and added:

”Alright, then I’d like to ask you for a favor. Consider this food as a reward, okay?”

”Pidg!” Pidgeot nodded repeatedly.

”Then please wait here for a moment.”

Naoki smiled as he turned back to the house, retrieved a woven basket from the cabinet, and then took out a heap of snacks from the fridge.

Soft and sweet honey buns, chewy honey gummies, and honey lemon water in a milk bottle.

Naoki filled the basket with these foods, put a lid on, and headed back outside.

”If you can find Teddiursa and Mew, I’d like you to deliver these to them. If not, you can keep them for yourself.”

Pidgeot tilted its head to examine the woven basket, then nodded.

The next second, it spread its wings, picked up the basket with its talons from Naoki’s hands, and flew into the sky.

Naoki nostalgically watched Pidgeot depart.

Pelipper, Fearow, Pidgeot...

One must say, Mew and Teddiursa are really good at making friends!

Wonder which Pokemon will come next.

”Perhaps I should buy a camera and give it to them, so they can send postcards by taking photos,” Naoki thought.

He planned to buy a camera when he went to town for groceries the next day to have it handy.

At that moment, Keri arrived at the ranch with the equipment.

Naoki hurriedly greeted her and led her to the Salt House for an on-site inspection.

The floor of the Salt House had been damaged by a Diglett, which dug a large hole underneath.

”Is this Diglett a Pokemon you just caught?” Keri’s eyes turned towards the Diglett resting in the corner.

Naoki shook his head, ”Not yet, it damaged my farmland, so it’s working here to pay it off.”

Keri realized, ”I see, I thought it was hired like the Dragonite to help on the ranch!”

Since soil plowed by Digletts is ideal for plant growth, many farmers form partnerships with them, using them on their fields.

Naoki had thought about this, but it ultimately depended on the Diglett’s choice; he never forced Pokemon to do anything.

So he replied, ”We’ll see.”

Keri didn’t say much, examining the large hole below before taking out a Poke Ball.

With a flash of white light, a Pokemon with a serpentine appearance, yellow body in three segments, a blue belly, each segment with a pair of small wings, appeared before Naoki.

Seeing it clearly, Naoki was slightly stunned.

Noticing his gaze, Keri smiled and explained:

”This is a Dudunsparce, evolved from a Dunsparce, it can build nests underground with its sturdy tail and can use the Rock Type move Ancient Power to reinforce nests and prevent them from collapsing. We’ll need its help to build the cellar!”

She said as she instructed the Dudunsparce, ”I entrust this to you!”

The Dudunsparce, with a gentle disposition, nodded slightly, then dove into the large hole.

Immediately, dust flew, and the underground soil and Rock crumbled to dust under its efforts.

The nearby Diglett gaped in amazement at this scene.

So... impressive!

But then, it realized it might not be able to continue working here.

Because it was no longer needed.

Thinking it couldn’t have those delicious foods anymore, the Diglett showed a disappointed expression.

Naoki didn’t notice the Diglett’s reaction.

He was discussing the size of nests with Keri.

Keri: ”How big of a nest do you want to build? Dudunsparce is excellent at nest building, wild Dudunsparce nests can be up to ten kilometers, quite large.”

Naoki thought carefully and then said, ”Enough for five Garganacls would be fine.”

”Five Garganacls...” Keri mentally calculated their size, ”I understand, this construction should be finished by tomorrow. Dudunsparce will stay here today and I’ll come for it in the morning.”

”No problem, I’ll take good care of Dudunsparce!” Naoki nodded.

Keri smiled slightly, ”I’ll leave it in your hands then!”

Then, she called over Dudunsparce, explained a few things to it, and left.

Naoki saw her off the ranch, and returning to the Salt House, noticed that the Diglett was nowhere to be seen.

He looked around, feeling somewhat puzzled.

”Diglett?”

Naoki called out, but there was no response.

”Could that little guy have run away...”

For a moment, Naoki didn’t know what to say.

He searched the area but couldn’t find it, only accepting it as fate.

It was getting dark.

Naoki found the four Naclstack and Nacli to tell them about the ongoing construction of the Salt House, asking them to rest in their Poke Balls at night.

The Pokemons had no objections, so after dinner and some playtime outside, Naoki returned them to their Poke Balls.

The night brought winds outside, making Naoki somewhat uneasy.

Before bed, he went out to check the ranch facilities and gave Dudunsparce a supper for its overtime work, advising it to eat before continuing.

Once sure everything was alright, Naoki returned inside and fell asleep cuddling a fluffy Pawmo.
