Merging with Demon Spirits

Chapter 814: Chapter 616: Gone Mad!

In less than twenty minutes, the Avengers Alliance, using only three members, eliminated the team ranked sixth in strength among the fifty-five teams, a strong performance that left people in awe.

”The strength of the Avengers Alliance, I’m afraid, could be ranked fifth.”

”In my opinion, they even have hope for the fourth place.”

”Ah, it’s a pity for Abigail’s team.”

”They really didn’t know the immensity of heaven and earth, not even putting the Avengers Alliance in their eyes!”

”You can’t really say that. With small investment and high returns, taking risks is quite normal, just that no one predicted Yun Kai and Ye Xing would be so strong!”

”Now the Avengers Alliance has nine protector flags.”

”Excluding the protector flags, only three belong to them.”

In the midst of people’s discussions, Abigail and her team bowed their heads slightly, a bit downcast.

Some team members remained on their original platform, faces filled with confusion and unwillingness.

Based on their strength, they originally could have won without lifting a finger to advance, and even aiming for two protector flags was not impossible.

But now, due to one wrong choice, they were prematurely eliminated.

Those who have already become kings, although somewhat regretful, were not overly disheartened.

Their purpose for participating in the King Becoming plan was already achieved.

As for the treasures on the points exchange list, those were beyond their wildest dreams.

Even if they advanced, individuals couldn’t afford an exchange unless they pooled their points together.

As for those who have not yet become kings, they felt deep remorse in their hearts.

They were just one step away; one could vaguely see the shadow of the King Realm.

As long as they passed the third plan and put in the effort, they had the chance to become kings.

But now, everything was over.

The winner takes all; they no longer had any chance for regret.

Before Yun Tianqi defeated his tenth opponent, Lin Feng was already prepared, having found the next target in advance.

Lin Feng held a protector flag in his hand.

Behind him, eight protector flags lined up, fluttering in the wind, under the waves of the fierce battle, flapping wildly as if they were flames burning.

Even in the midst of tense and intense combat, many students still occasionally glanced at the platform where Lin Feng stood, their eyes filled with envy and longing.

Five hours of competition time had gone by, yet less than half an hour had passed, some teams were still breaking through platforms, and even those who succeeded at breaking through had only two protector flags, completely incomparable to the Avengers Alliance.

Too tempting!

As long as they defeat the Avengers Alliance, they could obtain nine protector flags in one go.

If it weren’t for Yun Kai and his trio’s overpowering performance, perhaps some team would have already charged onto the platform.

Originally 55 teams, now only 35 remained.

And the competition had only just begun.

”Request flag protection!”

In the next second after Yun Tianqi defeated his opponent, a silhouette appeared above Lin Feng’s platform, shouting loudly, with a hint of urgency in the voice.

Lin Feng slightly raised his head, seeing a young man holding two protector flags, staring at him with a gaze full of longing and a bit of supplication.

”This is troublesome now!”

On the other side, a group of people frowned, muttering unlucky, quietly waiting for Lin Feng to make a choice.

Their strength was not even as good as Abigail’s team, if the Avengers Alliance chose flag protection, they would have to abandon the idea of breaking through platforms.

”Sorry.”

Lin Feng shook his head slightly.

This competition had only lasted thirty minutes, with four and a half hours remaining.

Teams varied in strength, but no team was invincible.

If continuously targeted, even a team led by the Child of Light, Alex, might be eliminated.

The third plan’s rules not only tested strength but also decision-making.

They had already helped six teams with flag protection, holding nine protector flags, which was already too conspicuous, and with such a long remaining competition time, continuing with flag protection posed too much risk.

In the young man’s desperate eyes, Lin Feng, holding the protector flag, disappeared, reappearing on another platform, and amidst astonished glances, he thrust the protector flag in his right hand fiercely onto the platform.

”Breaking through the platform!”

Facing Lin Feng’s breakthrough, the people on the platform all displayed a trace of bitterness, even despair.

Subsequently, Yun Kai and others appeared one after another, planting the remaining eight protector flags behind the platform.

The ceremony of breaking through a platform only required one protector flag, but Lin Feng’s team had already been helping with flag protection, if they were defeated, the remaining eight protector flags would belong to the defending party.

This is the cost of flag protection: they must not lose, for losing would mean total defeat, direct elimination.

Of course, according to the rules, Lin Feng’s squad could also seek someone for flag protection.

”What to do?”

”What else can we do? Seek flag protection.”

”There is no other way!”

Knowing that they had no hope of defending, this team didn’t hesitate and hurriedly sought flag protection.

But after five minutes passed, they abandoned hope and had no choice but to confront them.

However, no miracle appeared.

With only Ye Xing and Ye Qiu appearing, they claimed victory.

The Avengers Alliance once again acquired two protector flags.

An hour passed, and the Avengers Alliance already possessed 11 protector flags.

At this point, only 25 teams remained.

Through these two rounds, more than half of the participants were already eliminated.

”Lin Feng and his team are starting to take a break.”

”They must be tired.”

”11 protector flags, that’s enough.”

”Not all of them are theirs, they only have five protector flags.”

”Continuing to break through platforms would only lead to death.”

Amid discussions, the Avengers Alliance didn’t continue breaking through platforms, some even sat cross-legged on the ground, resting with closed eyes, as if quietly awaiting the end of the competition.

Besides the Avengers Alliance, two other teams were doing the same.

Time passed by, with four hours gone.

There was only one hour left before the competition ended.

From 55 teams, now only 17 remained.

Some teams continued breaking through platforms, while others, like the Avengers Alliance, just sat where they were and gave up. Some who couldn’t defend sought help from others for flag protection.

A total of 5 teams sought flag protection.

Among them, 4 teams chose the Avengers Alliance.

The reason for choosing the Avengers was simple.

They were the only choice.

In the fifty-five teams, the three universally recognized strongest teams were: Child of Light Alex, Son of the Titans Nikita, Ghost Stab Kitahara Sonosuke.

Having these three teams guard their flags yielded the highest success chance for advancement.

But because of their strength, these three parties were unwilling to protect flags, especially the first two.

Flag protection not only reduced the points pool but also posed risks.

If a team helping with flag protection failed at platform breakthroughs or defense, even if they had more protector flags than the opposing team, they would still be eliminated.

Some teams wanted flag protection but didn’t dare, fearing being targeted.

Moreover, this time, these three parties were themselves breaking through platforms.

Amidst many shocked stares, this time, Lin Feng accepted anyone, with stone debris flying, protector flags were planted behind the platform one by one.

Of course, flag protection came with conditions.

Each team needed to provide two to three protector flags as a reward for flag protection.

The four teams brought a total of 15 protector flags, and along with the originally possessed 11 protector flags, now the Avengers Alliance had 26 protector flags.

At this moment, the team with the most protector flags, which was Alex’s team, only had 7 protector flags.

”The atmosphere is a bit tense.”

Dong Yunan murmured, with a quickening heartbeat, a bit nervous.

When 26 protector flags stood on the platform where Lin Feng was, the atmosphere became immediately heavy.

Except for the two teams still fighting, the rest of the teams all looked toward the platform of the Avengers Alliance, halting their attempts to break through platforms.

In the view of all the students, the Avengers Alliance had gone mad.

Completely mad!
