Merging with Demon Spirits

Chapter 810: Chapter 612: Acting with Impunity

Looking at Lin Feng’s somewhat dumbfounded expression, the twelve people couldn’t hide the smiles on their faces.

”Just now you looked so eager, but now you don’t want it?”

The woman held the Fire Banner, still extending it towards him, and said with a chuckle.

Her eyes scanned Lin Feng, not hiding the teasing in her gaze.

Their team had only Thirteen people, all were leftover picks from other teams, not even a single member at the Peak of Ninth Grade, let alone a King, so they didn’t stand a chance of successfully defending against any team’s challenge.

From the start, they had already harbored intentions of giving up.

Of course, according to the tournament rules, they could seek help from other teams to protect the banner, but it should be noted they only had one Fire Banner. This Fire Banner could not be given to the protector, which left them no negotiation chips.

What team would be willing to help for free?

Strong teams with the capability would not bother with them, hoping for their elimination to increase the points pool.

Teams of average strength lacked the courage to help protect a banner.

At this moment, chaos spread everywhere, all over teams were storming banners, and finding a willing team to protect a banner within five minutes seemed highly unlikely.

If they could advance, there would be no one eliminated in the third plan.

Thus, they rationally gave up their unrealistic fantasies.

Better to give the Fire Banner to the Avengers Alliance rather than another team.

At least, they had a good impression of this alliance.

”Thank you.”

Lin Feng took the Fire Banner and expressed his thanks.

Even though the banner was already guaranteed, with just him alone capable of challenging ten people consecutively, saving time still had great benefits.

”No need to thank, we couldn’t have kept it anyway.”

”Become a king, I believe in you guys.”

”Carry my banner, and achieve greatness.”

Amidst the blessings of everyone, Lin Feng showed a slight smile and disappeared with the two Fire Banners.

At the position he left, the middle-aged man who had disappeared reappeared in front of his teammates, looking helpless and bitter.

Lin Feng hadn’t anticipated such a smooth start, seizing a Fire Banner in less than a minute, while other teams had yet to start their battles.

When Lin Feng returned to the original arena, only Bu Zheng was present on it.

Lin Feng appeared with two Fire Banners, clearly surprising him.

”So quick?” Bu Zheng exclaimed with surprise.

”They just gave it to me,” Lin Feng said with a smile.

Bu Zheng felt enlightened and said nothing more.

Lin Feng lightly tapped the ground, his figure leaping into the air, flapping his Spiritual Power Wings, hovering in mid-air, scanning the surroundings.

As he expected, among the 55 teams, the strong unified in challenging the weak, even the team of the Child of Light, Alex, was no exception.

This was to conserve time.

Every major team was racing against time, trying to capture as many flags as possible.

The more flags the better, the greater the advantage, even if there’s no confidence in defending later, it provides leverage for negotiating for protection.

At the same time, it’s to avoid injuries and maintain peak condition.

During the banner storming, three teams stood peculiarly, a group of twenty stood on their arena, not storming nor challenging others.

The strength of these three teams wasn’t weak, with some members being Kings, and their numbers substantial, averaging more than five Kings each.

Among the 55 teams, they were considered mid-to-upper-tier in strength.

This was also why no one challenged them.

The weak naturally didn’t dare to challenge.

The strong were conserving energy and not rushing to challenge them initially.

These three teams were clearly planning to forgo the point rewards, ensuring their teams weren’t eliminated.

Given their strength, advancing was indeed a significant possibility.

After all, they only had one flag, and their strength wasn’t weak. In a non-combat situation, keeping team members in optimal condition, challenging them for one flag just wasn’t worth the risk and effort.

In contrast to these three teams, Lin Feng’s team was even more standout.

Other teams, even when slacking, at least stayed honest on their arenas.

Yet they had only two people left, originally Lin Feng was gone, leaving only one, and after Lin Feng vanished, the other eighteen were nowhere to be seen.

At this time, Yu Qiao and the others spread out, stationed in various arenas, watching on like enthusiastic spectators, quietly waiting for the show to begin.

Lin Feng looked at the arena on the left, now Chen Dali’s team was also facing challenges from other teams.

It was a team widely recognized as strong.

The team of Ghost Stab, Kitahara Sonosuke.

Lin Feng knew alone had ten Kings, and most likely the others were Kings too.

This team seemed to be entirely composed of Kings, including two familiar figures, Chen Junhao and Zhao Zhou.

Facing such a lineup, Chen Dali and his team had no hope of defending the banner, it could be said that any one member of the opponent could easily overwhelm them.

”Although we knew we’d be eliminated in the first round, aren’t we a bit too unlucky?”

”All Kings lineup, how to fight?”

”With this lineup, who would dare protect the banner?”

”Fortunately.”

Chen Dali and a few others murmured, their words though heavy, carried a light expression.

”Let’s start already.”

Seeing Chen Dali’s side delay, a blond young man chided impatiently.

In his view, Alice’s group of students was deliberately stalling.

Given their strength, there was no need to consider fighting.

What’s puzzling him was why their expressions were so relaxed.

Have they given up hope?

”What’re you rushing?”

Chen Dali raised an eyebrow, a bit annoyed, as he leaped back to Lin Feng’s arena amid astonished gazes and planted his Fire Banner on the stone surface with a loud thud.

”Damn, no sportsmanship.”

Chen Junhao’s face immediately darkened, cursing quietly.

Chen Dali, without Lin Feng’s consent, directly planted the Fire Banner on his arena, evidently prearranged, no wonder they weren’t nervous facing their challenge and still had leisure to chat.

Starting by protecting the banner, is that how the rules are played?

What good does this do for the Avengers Alliance?

And daring to protect the banner against such a recognized strong team, were they dismissing them?

”Going straight to protecting the banner, are they crazy?”

”Too arrogant!”

”Just plant the flag, what’s the fear? The Avengers Alliance has only four Kings!”

”Yun Kai and the others aren’t just any Kings. Even if they succeed in the challenge, their losses won’t be small.”

”Don’t forget Lin Feng and Bu Yuanlong. They must have King-level combat ability too, meaning the Avengers Alliance has at least six King-level powers. Winning won’t be effortless; it might cost us six main forces.”

Everyone was bantering, all wearing grim expressions.

They never expected to run into such a tricky problem on their first banner storming.

Despite being angry and eager to eliminate the Avengers Alliance, reality didn’t allow them to do so.

Beginning with a strong confrontation was not a smart choice.

Winning against the Avengers Alliance held little meaning. With the third plan’s five-hour match duration, they would surely face strong teams like Alex’s later, and if they sustained losses, it wouldn’t just be a lack of point rewards, but a significant chance of being eliminated.

Perhaps knowing their concerns, the Avengers Alliance dared to be so arrogant and fearless.

It wasn’t just Chen Junhao’s group annoyed, five other teams were too.

After Chen Dali planted the flag, five figures holding Fire Banners successively leaped onto Lin Feng’s arena, unhesitatingly planting their banners.

Within a mere three minutes, a total of six teams chose to let the Avengers Alliance protect their banners.

Now Lin Feng’s arena had eight Fire Banners.

A row of red Fire Banners attracted the attention of everyone present, causing a chorus of amazement.
