I Can Fish Up Everything!

Chapter 222: Chapter 143: The Domineering Brother Sea King (2)

”Hello, Sea King!” Gu Nan said with a smile as he shook his hand. To his surprise, Sea King was a handsome man who looked to be in his early thirties and was about the same height as him.

’And here I thought he’d be some smug-looking older man!’

”Hello, hello. I heard you have a live Leopard Coral Grouper that’s nearly seven feet long, so I came all the way from Shangdu just for it.” After shaking hands, Sea King got straight to the point.

Gu Nan nodded as he unlocked the door. ”We did have one, but it was sold a while ago. Someone just picked it up yesterday.”

”What?” Sea King was taken aback, his disappointment evident.

He’d been busy with other things lately. He had only heard the news from Jiang Tengming this morning and immediately hopped on a flight.

Jiang Tengming, of course, knew the fish had been sold. The news had caused quite a stir, so as a resident of Yangjiang Port, there was no way he could have missed it.

He had deliberately lured the man over, hoping for a chance to shoot a video together and drive some traffic to his own content.

But now, he put on a look of surprise. ”The fish was already bought? I saw it when I passed by the day before yesterday. I thought you still had it!”

”Oh, there’s a meter-long Leopard Coral Grouper in this tank. Why don’t we buy this one for the video?”

Gu Nan glanced at Jiang Tengming, who gave him a subtle wink. Gu Nan’s eyes then flicked to the designer-clad Sea King standing beside him, and he began to understand.

’His opinion of Jiang Tengming plummeted. He didn’t know why the man had lied, but this wasn’t someone worth associating with. I’ll have to find some time to tell An Jun about this.’

”I have an over six-foot Leopard Coral Grouper arriving in a day or two, but it’s chilled, not live. We weren’t able to keep it alive.”

Sea King’s face lit up when he heard there was another one over six feet long.

But his expression fell when he heard it was chilled.

Just like Wang Junhe, he had actually wanted to buy a large Leopard Coral Grouper to keep in a tank at his company.

”Friend, let me ask you, can you get another live one? I’m looking for one over five feet long.”

Getting one’s hands on exceptionally large seafood really depended on a shop owner’s connections and supply channels—how solid their network was. Secondly, it depended on whether such a creature could even be caught in the first place.

Normally, even if it were possible, one would likely have to wait a very long time.

However, Gu Nan’s situation was anything but normal.

He hesitated for a moment before saying, ”My supplier did send me a message a while back. They said their divers spotted a wild Leopard Coral Grouper suspected to be over six and a half feet long.”

”But as for whether they can actually catch it and get it here alive, I really can’t say for sure.”

At these words, Sea King’s eyes lit up. ”Friend, tell your supplier to do everything they can to catch it, and make sure they keep it healthy. Price is not an issue. As long as it gets here alive and in good condition, I’ll absolutely make it worth your while.”

”Okay, I’ll talk to them. It’ll take some time to get the fish and have it sent over.” Gu Nan had heard of this Sea King before.

The man was worth hundreds of millions. While other seafood content creators were still playing small-time, he had practically cornered the market on the largest and most expensive seafood on the entire internet. He was definitely not hurting for cash.

Wang Junhe and Guo Xiao were also wealthy, with net worths in the hundreds of millions, but they weren’t content creators. Huge, imported catches didn’t hold much appeal for them.

If a fish was caught locally, however, and the news wasn’t public yet, they would be falling over each other to throw money at it, even offering to cover travel expenses.

”By the way, I’ll take that six-foot-plus Leopard Coral Grouper too. It’ll be perfect for shooting a video. The one that’s over six and a half feet, I want to keep in a tank, which is why I need it to be kept alive at all costs.”

”Okay. Let’s exchange contact info. I’ll message you when the fish arrives.”

”Let’s swap phone numbers too. Just call me directly when it gets here. I’ll be staying in Yangjiang Port for the next couple of days.”

”Okay, okay!”

After they exchanged contact information, Sea King finally started to look around the seafood shop with genuine interest.

He had never seen much of the seafood in the shop before, so he kept pulling Gu Nan aside to ask questions. He figured he could edit the footage down and use it at the start of his video, which would be good publicity for Gu Nan’s shop.

’This shop is really on its way to becoming famous online.’

Originally, Sea King had also wanted to buy a seven-pound Rose Dragon to make a video in the next day or two.

But when he heard that a nearly meter-long Rose Dragon was arriving that evening, he immediately reserved it. He was starting to see Gu Nan in a new light.

He’d gotten into being a content creator purely as a hobby, but in over three years, he’d amassed tens of millions of followers. He had bought seafood from countless shops, professional anglers, and fishermen.

But this was the first time he’d ever met a shop owner who could get his hands on so many huge, imported specimens.

After chatting a bit more, he learned that Gu Nan was also looking for import channels in other countries and suddenly felt extremely glad he had made the trip.

’This owner is a real find. Maybe filming future videos will be much easier, with all sorts of massive creatures showing up again.’

After seeing the two of them off, Gu Nan winked smugly at Yi Chen. ”Pretty impressive, right? I just earned two-thirds of the rent in the blink of an eye.”

”Two-thirds? Really? Can you actually make over two hundred thousand from two fish? Don’t mistake revenue for profit. You have to factor in your costs,” Yi Chen replied noncommittally.

The last Leopard Coral Grouper only sold for 120,000. In her mind, after deducting costs and import taxes, Gu Nan had probably only profited by about 50,000.

The base cost was already very high, and the import taxes were nothing to sneeze at.

Gu Nan’s smug expression froze. He’d forgotten that he didn’t *have* any costs.

’Nope. I can’t let Yi Chen manage the money in the future. It’ll be best if she just takes half of the official profits.’

After Sea King left, no other particularly large deals came through.
