I Can Fish Up Everything!

Chapter 214: Chapter 140: First Time Holding Hands to Watch a Movie (3)

A little after nine in the morning, fifty large mud crabs and large lobsters arrived at the shop. He called the hotel, and a short while later, they sent someone over to pick up the goods.

The mud crabs weighed a total of 262 catties, and the Rose Dragons came to 257 catties. Each one weighed just over five catties, making them very uniform in size.

The person from Junhao Hotel who came to pick up the order looked a bit puzzled. An ordinary seafood shop would be hard-pressed to gather a batch of mud crabs and lobsters all weighing just over five catties, not even in a month, let alone half a month. The difficulty was exceptionally high.

It was normal for them to vary in size, and there was always some loss.

Most orders like this were sourced from large fishing corporations, which had enough quantity to be able to select a uniform batch.

The total for the one hundred crabs and lobsters came to 183,000 yuan. The change was only a few dozen yuan, so Gu Nan waived it.

After this money was deposited, he checked his savings. He now had over 830,000 yuan. It was time to consider renting another seafood shop.

Renting a seafood shop would also require renovations and time to air out any smells, which would take at least three months in reality.

’In that amount of time,’ Gu Nan estimated, ’I can definitely finish unlocking the third map, and maybe even unlock most of the fourth.’

Currently, all the common entries in the Seven-Star Rock codex had been unlocked.

The three remaining ones were the brown-marbled grouper, the leopard coral grouper, and the splendid alfonsino.

Gu Nan’s appearance at Zhao Jie’s restaurant last night was partly related to the splendid alfonsino he had just unlocked.

This was because any high-end Japanese restaurant was sure to have this fish; it was a high-grade fish frequently used in Japanese cuisine.

The splendid alfonsino produced by the game came from the waters of northern Australia. In China, this fish could only be found around Taiwan.

In the past, China had to import it, but now some fishing boats might venture into that sea region.

Of the three newly unlocked fish, the brown-marbled grouper was relatively common. It was three-star, with a unit price of 160 yuan per catty and a flavor rating of five and a half stars.

However, both the leopard coral grouper and the splendid alfonsino were five-star fish. The former’s unit price was as high as 400 yuan per catty, fifty yuan more than the splendid alfonsino.

’But what can you do? It’s just that rare!’

The splendid alfonsino was mainly difficult to catch because it’s a deep-sea fish, while the leopard coral grouper was simply scarce.

However, despite their high price, neither of these fish grew very large. Even with his purple fishing rod, the ones Gu Nan caught were just over two catties, and it was rare to see one reach three.

So, in reality, the price of a single fish couldn’t compare to those that weighed ten or twenty catties and had a unit price of just over a hundred yuan.

The advantage was that both types of fish sold well.

Whether it was restaurants, hotels, or even some rich streamers, they all loved these two fish.

Unfortunately, Gu Nan couldn’t provide them in large quantities for the time being, as his catch rate wasn’t very high.

With all fifteen codex entries unlocked, the normal boss was officially available.

But after two days of fishing, Gu Nan hadn’t even seen a shadow of the boss. He had originally considered intentionally letting the boss escape to continue grinding the daily quests.

A week passed. The first and second elite quests for the Fengqi Coast map were completed, rewarding him with 9,000 Gold Coins.

[Elite Quest 1: Catch 100 five-star seafood items (5/5). Reward: 400 EXP, 4000 Gold Coins. Note: The next quest can only be unlocked after completing the current one.]

[Elite Quest 2: Catch 50 Rose Dragons weighing more than 5 catties (5/5). Reward: 500 EXP, 5000 Gold Coins. Note: The next quest can only be unlocked after completing the current one.]

The quests weren’t difficult. With his golden fishing rod and daily attempts, it was just a matter of time, and he was already two-thirds of the way through the series.

The main focus was now on Elite Quest 3.

[Elite Quest 3: Challenge the Legendary Elite BOSS (6/6). Success Reward: 800 EXP, 8000 Gold Coins. Note: The next quest can only be unlocked after completing the current one.]

He’d been fishing up a lot of glass bottles lately, getting plenty of stickers, but he had only managed to catch two bosses in total. Unfortunately, the best of them was a blue-bodied Large-spot Grouper nearly two meters long.

Even with the bonus from the golden fishing rod, the hook rate for these elite bosses was still numbingly low.

Over the week, Gu Nan had used about a hundred of the two types of stat-boosting stickers in total. Thanks to his accumulated daily attempts, he had fished nearly three hundred times.

Adding in his normal fishing sessions, he had ultimately only caught two.

Although he had a Legendary Card (Legendary Seafood Selection Card), Gu Nan had been saving it like a treasure. He really didn’t want to use it so casually.

’Looks like I have no choice now. After completing the two legendary collection quests, I’ll get four golden keys, and there should be another chance to get a Legendary Card.’

After taking a couple of days to get himself in the right mindset, Gu Nan decided to tackle both of the Legendary-level bosses.

’With the golden boat rod paired with an electric reel, I should be able to handle it alone.’

Around noon, just as Gu Nan was about to lie back in his chair for a short nap after lunch, he saw Yi Chen rush in, carrying a small bag.

She stopped short upon seeing him, then looked a little embarrassed. ”Boss...”

Gu Nan cut her off, not knowing whether to laugh or cry. ”Why are you still calling me Boss?”

Yi Chen stuck out her tongue. ”What should I call you then?”

”How about ’darling’ or ’hubby’...”

”In your dreams! From now on, I’m just calling you by your name.”

He had barely gotten the two terms of endearment out before Yi Chen cut him off, flustered and annoyed. Her previous bashfulness and slight shyness vanished in an instant.

”I told you to call me by my name before, but you wouldn’t. Now you insist on it. Heh, women!”

”Heh, men!” Yi Chen rolled her eyes, then opened her backpack and took out Gulu.

”...”

’Well, there goes my well-behaved little shop assistant,’ Gu Nan sighed softly. ’Replaced by a girlfriend who loves to talk back to me. I brought this on myself!’

But his teasing did make Yi Chen relax and act much more naturally.

’Still, Gu Nan felt like he had forgotten something important.’

’That’s right, I have to tell Mom the good news!’

’I have to let her know I have a girlfriend now, so she doesn’t try to pull some other crazy stunt after a while.’

But when he thought about Yi Chen’s family situation, he hesitated and decided to wait a bit longer.

’Mom would definitely call and ask a million questions, like when the two families could meet.’

Gu Nan himself didn’t have a full picture of Yi Chen’s family situation yet. He only knew that her parents were divorced and she had a stepmother, but he didn’t know what her elders were like as people.

He hadn’t told her about his own family situation either. These things would take time.
