I Can Fish Up Everything!

Chapter 196: Chapter 135: Gu Nan: I’ve Hooked the Big Fish, Do You Dare to Eat It?

Guo Xiao: ”...”

Damn, he’d taken a huge hit just to get the other professional anglers in the club to accept this.

He and Wang Junhe could have, of course, just signed Gu Nan up directly. Even the other two shareholders wouldn’t have said anything.

After all, the two of them held 65% of the shares. It was just a small club, and the shares weren’t messy or split all over the place.

They could act autocratically, but to put it bluntly, everyone in the club was a fellow angler. If they handled things unfairly or without grace, why would anyone want to stick around? It’s not like there weren’t other clubs.

The two of them arrived on deck, where the other three were already getting ready to fish.

Today was for catching big fish, so Gu Nan didn’t use two rods at once. Instead, he used the Purple Seven-Star Rod.

If he really did hook a big one later, he would still have to show off his own strength.

When fishing for local sea fish, the rod had no attributes, but the improvement in his physical constitution was perfectly clear.

Although Gu Nan didn’t work out, from fishing for large fish every day, his stamina and core Power were clearly a huge step up from when he used to just lie around the shop all day. Besides, he wasn’t called a glutton for nothing.

To improve his chances of getting a bite, he wasn’t using artificial lures today.

He untied the tenya jig, attached a chum cage, and also tied on a large fish hook.

On deck was a box of sardines, all of them over twenty centimeters long.

Gu Nan stuffed the chum cage full of Antarctic krill, baited the hook with a sardine, and then cast the rig into the water, letting the large lead sinker carry it down quickly.

The hook and bait were both large; his only chance of a bite was to wait for a big fish to take it.

”Brother Guo, what’s here besides bonito?”

Yesterday, Wang Junhe had suffered terribly next to him; today, it was Guo Xiao’s turn.

”You’ll find out if you just fish for a while. This is a great spot. Later, if you switch to a smaller hook and use the electric reel rod, you’ll definitely catch a lot of good stuff.”

Guo Xiao said while tying his fishing line. Since he was already here, besides hairtail, he was also planning to catch some other deep-sea fish to take back and try.

Most deep-sea fish are delicious. After this trip, his family wouldn’t be short on fish for a while.

Of course, if he went home empty-handed, he’d inevitably face sarcastic remarks from the missus, which was also why he wanted Gu Nan to use the electric reel rod later.

After all, he wasn’t the only one who needed fish—Wang Junhe did too!

”Ah, Brother Guo, don’t be so polite with me. The electric reel rod is right there, just take it and use it.”

”Electric reels are no fun. I prefer to reel it in slowly by hand.”

Since he said that, Gu Nan looked away and went back to staring at his fishing rod, hoping a big one would bite soon and not delay his ’stocking up’ later.

After waiting a good five or six minutes, just as he was about to reel in the line to check if the bait had been eaten, the rod tip suddenly trembled twice, then immediately bent sharply downward.

Gu Nan immediately felt an immense force. The fishing rod made a faint CREAK, while the line just went ZZZZZT, cutting through the water and sending out ripples.

Even though the drag wasn’t locked, the line was being pulled out so quickly that the fish was clearly not small!

”Holy crap, a fish this big right off the bat?” The diving instructor was speechless. Although he had no objection to Gu Nan competing, he had always been skeptical of his claims about always coming to catch big fish.

But whether it was the hairtail from last night or this fish right now, he had no choice but to believe it. After all, the proof was right in front of his eyes!

The shipyard owner was also starting to question reality. He owned a factory, but the fact that he was good friends with Wang Junhe and Guo Xiao, and not just a business associate, meant he definitely loved fishing too.

In that moment, he understood why his two friends had gotten so close with Gu Nan. He had found the reason.

’In that case, forget a 20% discount on future boat purchases—I need to start building a good relationship with him right now!’

Gu Nan gritted his teeth, powerfully lifted the rod, and then quickly reeled in two turns of the line.

The pull of this fish was similar to that of a 150-jin marlin from India, so its actual weight probably wasn’t much heavier.

But there’s a saying that ”a jin of fish has ten jin of force,” especially when the fish is in deep water and harder to catch. Thus, Gu Nan still had to struggle immensely when the fish made its initial burst of power.

He could have just held the rod and let the fish run for a bit, but it was trying to dive for the bottom, so he had no choice but to forcibly haul it up some first.

Seeing him lift the rod against the strain several times in a row, the men, all in their thirties, unconsciously focused their gazes on his lower back.

They all had the same thought: ’Youth really is a wonderful thing!’

Gu Nan showed off his core Power, successfully pulling the fish upward by more than ten meters. Then, the fish started to dash forward, away from him.

His brow twitched. When the fish first started diving, he thought he’d gotten lucky and hooked a large deep-sea grouper.

But now, its sprinting speed made his face fall. This behavior was more like a tuna or similar species; it was most likely the ”big bonito” Wang Junhe and the others had mentioned.

Most bonito like to swim in schools in the middle and upper water layers, but some exceptionally large ones do go to the bottom to feed.

He was a little disappointed, but the fish still had to be brought in.

He raised the rod with his left hand, working to wear down the fish’s stamina. Since it was running forward, he’d let it tire itself out for a while.

The fish under the water was still running. From the looks of it, it seemed ready to run for a long time; it was a fish with excellent stamina.

The bait was bought by Guo Xiao. With only the fishing line in play, the gear itself wasn’t doing much to drain the fish’s stamina.

Guo Xiao and Wang Junhe’s hands were itching. They really wanted to feel what this fish was like on the line.

After two minutes, Guo Xiao saw that his face was flushed red and the veins on his arms were bulging. He couldn’t hold back anymore and asked, ”Ah Nan, are you tired? How about I take over for a few minutes?”
