I Can Fish Up Everything!

Chapter 190: Chapter 133: A Group of Groupers Arrives, the Bustling Seafood Market (Part 3)

The words sounded a bit insincere. Gu Nan had his suspicions, but he didn’t press the issue.

Smiling, he rubbed her head, feeling the soft, silky hair as he comforted her, ”We can’t choose our family, but we can choose our own life. All that matters is that we live our own lives well.”

”Cheer up. I tricked Ah Jun into treating us, so tonight, we’re really going to take him to the cleaners. He’s loaded!”

”Mmm~” A smile returned to Yi Chen’s face when she heard An Jun was on the hook for a big meal.

However, her smile wasn’t because An Jun was getting fleeced, but because Gu Nan’s attitude toward her hadn’t changed after learning about her family situation.

At eleven in the morning, she got up and started preparing lunch.

It was all seafood, which was certainly easy to prepare.

Gu Nan tried the tiger-head crab. The meat was delicious, though it had a unique aroma.

Unfortunately, the shell was too hard, making it difficult to eat. Overall, it was a very good type of crab, but he would never buy it himself for one hundred and eighty. The price was purely a matter of rarity.

At four in the afternoon, An Jun, having taken a nap and now full of energy, arrived at the seafood market with Jin Enfei.

When the two of them walked in, they were stunned to find Gu Nan’s seafood shop crowded with people. They exchanged a look, not understanding the situation.

Fortunately, despite the crowd, they could still squeeze their way in.

As soon as he squeezed through, he saw a colossal grouper in the center of the shop’s tank and immediately let out a, ”Holy shit!”

Jin Enfei’s mouth was also slightly agape. She had never seen such a large grouper either.

And it wasn’t just the nearly two-meter-long grouper that shocked her. The main thing was that surrounding the massive grouper were several others, just a size smaller. A quick glance revealed they were all Meter Level.

When Gu Nan made a move, he really made a splash. With a display like this, all eyes in the seafood market were on his shop.

At that moment, a group of hotel purchasers, seafood restaurant owners, and others who had been drawn over were bidding on the largest grouper.

The invoice listed the weight: this 1.81-meter, wild blue-body Large-spot Grouper weighed in at 126.5 kilograms.

This weight was a testament to how fat the fish was. Normally, a 1.8-meter one weighing over 100 kilograms would be incredible.

The bidding had already reached sixty thousand, with the unit price exceeding four hundred and sixty yuan per kilogram, but this was far from Gu Nan’s target price.

’Wild-caught, 1.8 meters, over 125 kilograms, only available via import, and still alive.’

’With these attributes alone, he wouldn’t even consider anything less than six hundred yuan per kilogram.’

Gu Nan was also waiting for someone. The people who had shown up so far were all small-timers and some second-hand dealers looking for a cheap deal. They weren’t worth his attention.

After a short while, Sheng Shuyun arrived. When he saw the fish, he gave Gu Nan a thumbs-up. ”My friend, you’ve got some serious skills, getting your hands on a wild golden-spotted grouper this big. One hundred thousand. How about you sell it to me?”

Gu Nan smiled and said, ”Please wait a moment, Brother. Brother Guo and Brother Wang are still on their way. Let’s talk after they arrive.”

’One hundred thousand yuan. The price was definitely okay. He didn’t have to sell it for an exorbitant price; after all, there would surely be bigger ones later.’

It was just that after the fish arrived, he had specifically taken a photo of the tank and sent it to Wang Junhe and Guo Xiao. They had called him immediately, telling him he absolutely had to save the fish for them. Their club was still missing a big ”guardian fish.”

When Sheng Shuyun heard those two were coming, a wry smile appeared on his face. ’It seems I wasn’t destined to have this fish.’

The metaphysical value of a golden-spotted grouper far outweighed its value as food. He wanted to buy this fish to keep it in the house-sized aquarium on the first floor of the hotel.

He also held some shares in the Junhao Hotel. The annual dividends were substantial, so of course he hoped the hotel would do better and better.

Since there was no hope for the big fish, he shifted his focus to the two Meter Level blue-body Large-spot Groupers and said, ”I won’t compete with those two for the big one, but you have to sell these two smaller ones to me!”

Gu Nan gave a wry smile. ”I was thinking of keeping one for myself! Why don’t you wait a bit? I’ve already asked my contacts overseas to look for more. In a while, I might be able to get another big one over 1.5 meters.”

”Don’t mess with me. Wild ones aren’t that easy to find. I’ll give you fifty thousand for these two. Don’t you have a few half-meter ones in your tank? Your seafood shop is small; keeping a half-meter one is more than enough.”

Sheng Shuyun didn’t believe he could get another one that big, so he decisively made a high offer to secure the two Meter Level fish.

A Meter Level one weighed just over 25 kilograms. The unit price was approaching one thousand yuan per kilogram. Gu Nan had no reason not to sell.

’He could catch Meter Level fish whenever he wanted. Now, with the golden Fengqi Fishing Rod, his chances of catching an elite boss were much higher than before. It probably wouldn’t be long before he could get an even bigger one.’

Hearing Gu Nan agree, Sheng Shuyun immediately arranged for his people to make preparations. They would come back to transport the fish once the transport tank was ready.

He didn’t leave, though. After all, the two big shots were about to arrive.

Meanwhile, a boss who had been bidding saw Sheng Shuyun settle for the two smaller fish and instantly understood that the big one had been reserved. He was immediately displeased.

”Hey, shop owner, this is bad business. If the big fish was already reserved, you should have said so beforehand. We wouldn’t have wasted our time bidding here.”

A few others who had also participated in the bidding immediately started to jeer.

”Yeah, that’s right! If you weren’t selling, you should’ve said so earlier. What kind of way is that to run a business?”

”You’re just messing with us!”

Gu Nan narrowed his eyes and looked at the man. ”It’s not that I’m not selling, it’s that your offers are too low. Mr. Sheng offered fifty thousand for the two Meter Level ones, and even offered one hundred thousand for this big one. Your highest bid for the big one was sixty thousand. If I sold it to you, how would I explain myself to Mr. Sheng?”

’If I sold it to them for sixty thousand, they could turn around and flip it in the South China Region for a hundred thousand. That’s a huge markup!’

You only had to look at the news to know. In the past, with the high-priced Yellowlip Fish, wealthy bosses or resellers from East China would buy them up cheaply. The fishermen thought they’d made a good profit, but then the resellers would flip them in the South China Region and make even more than the fishermen did.

”Then how much are you selling this fish for? Name your price!”

”No need to name a price. I’ll offer one hundred and twenty thousand!”

Just then, Wang Junhe managed to squeeze his way in. Hearing the exchange, he directly threw out the highest bid on the floor.

He hadn’t just blurted out that price randomly.

He had received a message from Sheng Shuyun just before arriving and had asked him about the situation on site. Upon learning that Sheng Shuyun had offered one hundred thousand and then deferred to their club, Wang Junhe knew what to do.

Sheng Shuyun was doing him a favor, and he was happy to accept it. ’As for returning it, well, that depends.’
