I Can Fish Up Everything!

Chapter 181: Chapter 130: Fresh and Savory Tusun Noodles

”Giant groupers! How big?”

”There are quite a few Meter Level ones. You should come see for yourself when the time comes!”

”Yes, yes, of course! You really know how to live!”

Then, An Jun walked over to the display table at the back. When he saw the orange roughy, he couldn’t help but complain, ”Ah Nan, this fish is too ugly. Putting it out here is dragging down the average attractiveness of your shop.”

Gu Nan laughed. ”What deep-sea fish is ever good-looking? In fact, the weirder they look, the tastier they are.”

An Jun’s eyes darted around, and he shook his head with a look of feigned disgust. ”Is this fish really that tasty? I don’t believe you!”

”Why the hell should I care if you believe me or not!”

”What the hell? Aren’t you supposed to say, ’If you don’t believe me, I’ll cook one for you to try tonight’?”

”Trying to freeload? No way!” Gu Nan rolled his eyes and flopped back onto his recliner, ignoring him.

”Hah, you think it’s ’no way’ just because you say so? I’m going to grab one and clean it right now. We’ll wait for Yi Chen to get back and cook it tonight.” An Jun brazenly picked up an orange roughy and went to the shop entrance to start cleaning it.

Gu Nan glanced over but didn’t pay him any mind.

Now that he had money, this guy often came over to freeload. However, he always made up for it in other ways, so Gu Nan never ended up at a loss.

Although Jin Enfei hadn’t interacted much with Gu Nan, she had come to understand the way the two of them got along. Seeing this, she wasn’t as shocked as she had been at first.

This was also one of the reasons she preferred Chinese men. Most of them were very generous. As for the ones from the peninsula... best not to mention it!

Although cultural differences played a part, there was a definite air of pettiness about them.

Jin Enfei herself used to be like that, only changing somewhat after living here for a long time.

Take the bag of cosmetics from today, for example. She had given Yi Chen a set of lipsticks. In the past, giving a gift when it wasn’t a holiday or a birthday would have been unthinkable.

”Ah Nan, when are we all getting together to go out on the boat again?” An Jun asked after about ten minutes, returning with the cleaned fish on two plates.

”Didn’t you join a fishing club? You can just rent a boat and go out yourself!”

”It’s not the same. I don’t have a problem renting a boat, but it’s only fun when we all go together.”

”Then you should ask Ye Jing and the others. I’m free anytime.”

”Alright, I’ll ask him when the time comes.”

An Jun nodded, grabbed a folding stool, and sat down next to him. With his line of sight now lower, he noticed the sea worms Yi Chen had placed on the drainage channel by the sink. He glanced at them curiously and asked, ”Ah Nan, what are these?”

”Sea worms. I’m planning to make sea worm noodles tonight.”

”Ooh, nice.”

Beside them, Jin Enfei also looked over curiously and asked, ”Sea worms? What are those?”

”They’re a type of...”

”A very delicious type of seafood. You’ll know once you try some tonight.”

Gu Nan was halfway through his sentence when An Jun cut him off. Gu Nan caught the fleeting, mischievous grin on his face.

He didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, but seeing An Jun secretly shoot him a look, he had no choice but to nod in agreement. ”Yi Chen loves these. I’m sure you’ll like them too once you try them tonight.”

The cleaned sea worms, which had been flipped over, looked decent enough. Jin Enfei didn’t find them unacceptable and was actually quite looking forward to trying them.

Yi Chen had originally planned to stay and chat with her grandmother, but when she heard that Jin Enfei was at the shop, she had to hurry back.

As soon as she returned, she was dragged over to the counter and forced to learn one of Asia’s dark arts: makeup.

While the two women were busy with their project, An Jun, for once, got serious and started discussing business with Gu Nan.

”Ah Nan, I’ve been thinking about it for the past few days, and I discussed it with my family. They think opening a restaurant is actually a viable idea. What do you think?”

Gu Nan was taken aback, but seeing the look on his face, he knew An Jun was serious this time and not just talking.

He glanced at the two women discussing makeup techniques, then thought for a moment before saying, ”If you have enough capital, you could actually go into the cosmetics business with your girlfriend. E-commerce.”

”The profit margins on that are huge, probably much more reliable than opening a restaurant.”

”Of course, I don’t really know much about it. I just occasionally see on apps that the sales figures for cosmetics seem insanely high.”

”Besides, you remember Ah Mao, the barber from our village, right? He closed his barbershop, went to Bazhou City to open a cosmetics store, and immediately started raking it in.”

An Jun looked at his girlfriend, his eyes lighting up. ”I feel like we can do both restaurants and cosmetics! I’ll handle the restaurant and invest money for Enfei to do cosmetics. She has connections. It might really work out.”

Gu Nan was silent for a moment before asking, ”How much is your family investing in you?”

An Jun understood what he meant. ”One step at a time. We’ll start small to test the waters. If it really has potential, then we’ll invest more capital.”

”Same for the restaurant. I plan to open a small shop focusing on sashimi and raw marinated seafood to test the waters first. If business is good, I can slowly expand the space and develop new dishes later on.”

”Since you’ve already got a plan, it’s up to you!” Gu Nan sighed internally. ’For someone like me, if I invested in a shop and it failed, it would be hard to ever recover. But for someone like An Jun, whose family is rich, he’s not afraid of losing money. He can just write it off as gaining experience. When it comes to business, I know I’m no match for An Jun. Some things are just in your genes. His family has been merchants for three generations; he seems to have a natural talent for this stuff. But not me. If it weren’t for the game system I’m bound to, my shop would have probably closed down for good by now. I wouldn’t have even met Yi Chen.’

Time slowly passed. At four in the afternoon, Yi Chen, now wearing a delicate layer of light makeup, transformed into a chef and began preparing dinner.

Jin Enfei, quite interested, helped out beside her. After all, most women from the peninsula were expected to stay home, support their husbands, and raise children after marriage, so these skills were necessary.

The fresh and savory sea worm noodles were quickly finished under Yi Chen’s skilled hands.

As for the orange roughy, she made a roasted fish head and a yellow-braised fish fillet dish. She also deep-fried some of the fish meat, making it so fragrant and tender it nearly made Gu Nan swallow his own tongue.

”Wow, these sea worm noodles are just as good as any restaurant’s! Amazing!” An Jun gave Yi Chen a thumbs-up, then buried his face in his bowl and started slurping down the noodles.

After tasting the noodles and the fish, Jin Enfei had a sudden realization. ’I finally understand how to completely win An Jun over.’
