His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2024: Chapter 579: Honey, People Like That Don’t Deserve to Pursue You (Part 4)

Today Mu Yichen played the role of driver, with Qin Mu sitting in the passenger seat, and they quickly dropped their daughter off at school.

At the school gate, Huanhuan waved happily with her heavy backpack: ”Bye, Mom and Dad, Mu Chengyang!”

She didn’t say goodbye to her brother, but made a cool gesture instead. Chengcheng hugged his arms stubbornly and snorted, seemingly saying, ”Who cares about your goodbye!”

Chengcheng has more freedom at kindergarten, but before getting out of the car to be taken away by the teacher, he asked: ”Will you pick me up this afternoon?”

”We’ll see about that!”

Qin Mu held his hand and whispered to him.

”I don’t care, I’m not a girl, I’m not as cheesy as Cheng Huan!”

”Ha! That’s your sister, don’t be so candid!”

Qin Mu saw his stubborn expression, looking just like a little Mu Yichen.

”Got it! I’m off to school!”

Chengcheng reluctantly complied and left.

The teacher nodded to Qin Mu and led Chengcheng away, while Qin Mu stood by the car, hands on her hips in resignation, thinking how this little guy is hard to manage at such a young age; who knows what he’ll be like when he grows up.

”Let’s go, I’ll drop you off at the studio first!”

After getting in the car, Mu Yichen said to her.

”No! Go to the fashion store downtown.”

Qin Mu immediately corrected him, almost forgetting the important task.

”Going to the store? Didn’t you always say with Wang Li there, you don’t have to worry?”

”I’m going to check out the bookstore.”

Qin Mu replied.

Mu Yichen...

”I’m kind of regretting it!”

Mu Yichen suddenly brought up.

”Huh?”

Qin Mu turned her head, looking at him with confusion.

”It used to be your mentor, now it’s your sister, and both of them are people I introduced to you.”

Mu Yichen thought about it and found it ironic, but he accepted it.

Qin Mu gently leaned against his shoulder: ”I’m grateful you introduced them to me!”

Mu Yichen’s lip twitched, smiling lightly before focusing on driving again.

”Why did your mentor suddenly hand over JY to you?”

Mu Yichen asked, as they’d both avoided discussing that period, but now so much time has passed.

”He had that intention, but ultimately, Xiao Wei helped him make the decision. Xiao Wei noticed his health in Paris wasn’t great, and he often used JY as an excuse, so Xiao Wei called me.”

Qin Mu explained.

Mu Yichen nodded, understanding now, and chuckled softly: ”It really worked out for their marriage!”

”Yes! If Xiao Wei can get Jian Yan to relax for a few years, it might be a good thing. At least his health should improve.”

Mu Yichen didn’t reply, not really caring about Jian Yan’s health, but he did care about his wife’s happiness.

Mu Yichen drove to the JY Store entrance and parked.

Qin Mu gave him a quick kiss on the cheek: ”Bye-bye! Your other car is still here, so no need to pick me up this afternoon!”

Mu Yichen felt he was being tricked, but that kiss left on his cheek made him feel sweet, as he drove away.

Qin Mu didn’t enter the store but went directly to the bookstore.

When she opened the door, she saw Qin Mingzhu working on accounts, and instinctively thought she was dreaming.

Seeing her, the diligent Qin Mingzhu couldn’t help but look up and excitedly exclaimed: ”Oh dear, the eldest lady of the Qin Family is here for inspection! How’s that? I didn’t let you down, did I?”

Not just not letting her down, but giving her quite a shock.

”You came so early?”

”Yes! For you, I must come early!”

”Please make way, I’ve brought the goods you ordered!”

Standing at the door, Qin Mu heard a familiar voice, and out of reflex, she stepped aside, then couldn’t resist turning to see.

”Our handsome and charming uncle worked so hard! To thank you for your hard work, I’m gifting you a beauty, just a small token of appreciation.”

Qin Mingzhu turned to look at the man carrying two large boxes and cheerfully joked without holding back.
