His Beloved Treasure

Chapter 2006: Chapter 575: My Better Half_2

Qin Mu wore the loosest dress she had, as it was easier to put on, and when she heard a noise, she opened the door, only to see Chen Xiaomei standing there like a dumbstruck chicken.

Xiaomei really didn’t know what to say; her embarrassed yet polite smile barely curled her lips.

Qin Mu...

”A client just came looking for you, but you never came out, so they...”

Qin Mu lifted her eyes slightly, and Xiaomei said: ”Left!”

When Xiaomei said they left, she felt a little sad, and Qin Mu also thought it was a bit unlucky, she furrowed her brow slightly: ”Let them leave then, don’t just stand here!”

Qin Mu still just poked her head out at Xiaomei, then closed the door after speaking.

Xiaomei felt as if her nose had been hit by the door, she was so upset she almost cried.

Their boss really was getting more and more willful, letting business slip away, letting a handsome guy just walk away like that, what a shame!

Xiaomei turned around dejectedly and headed downstairs.

Downstairs, Yanzi watched her finally come down: ”What’s going on?”

”What else could it be?”

Xiaomei replied weakly.

”Mr. Mu came?”

Yanzi didn’t know Mu Yichen was at the studio, well, a lot of people didn’t know.

Xiaomei chuckled bitterly: ”Sigh! What kind of eyes do you all have? Didn’t you see that there’s a luxury car over there?”

Even though Mu Yichen didn’t often drive that car, judging by its value, being parked here so long, who else could it be but Mu Yichen?

Though Xiaomei realized this after going upstairs, she still felt that everyone was slow to react.

Yanzi glanced outside, blinking as if unsure of what Xiaomei was saying, but with Qin Mu not coming down for so long, that seemed to be the case. What else would delay Qin Mu from attending to a client? Even if she didn’t take orders, Qin Mu would politely come down to refuse.

When everyone was off work, Mu Yichen still hadn’t come down. Qin Mu feigned casualness as she came downstairs, checking on everyone: ”You should head home early; it’s getting cold, don’t wander around outside at night!”

Everyone was smiling as they walked, hearing her seemingly caring words; it was clear she was just trying to cover up the awkwardness of not coming down all afternoon.

Qin Mu was also frustrated, sighing at the words of perfunctory acknowledgment from the others.

Mu Yichen shamelessly wanted to go downstairs and head home, but would she let him come down?

Better that everyone doesn’t find out today, then she could pretend he hadn’t come, and this afternoon was just a dream.

In the evening, the two didn’t head home. Feng Fanghua suggested they eat out together and invited Qin Mingzhu, who brought her child along. Once Feng Fanghua arrived in the private room, she kept holding the child, endlessly praising: ”This little one is really adorable, look, he’s smiling at me!”

”Do you have a particular fondness for babies?”

Qin Mingzhu promptly asked, reading the situation.

”Of course, I love them; babies are the continuation of life, nothing brings more joy than this.”

Feng Fanghua eagerly climbed a ladder she’d been given.

”Why don’t I ask my sister and brother-in-law to have another one for you to enjoy? They are always joined at the hip anyway.”

Qin Mingzhu said, glancing at her treasured son in Feng Fanghua’s arms.

”Mingzhu has really become more insightful these past couple of years!”

Feng Fanghua couldn’t help but give Qin Mingzhu another look, feeling a bit excited inside; hearing such words from Qin Mingzhu was really fitting.

”Hehe! Spending more time with you makes me smarter!”

Qin Mingzhu thick-skinnedly flattered Feng Fanghua.

”Oh my! A little smooth talker!”

Feng Fanghua teased her, but her eyes were full of joyful gratitude, while Qin Mingzhu kept exchanging looks with her, harmoniously acting in concert.

Qin Mu and Mu Yichen sat quietly on the side, listening, Qin Mu behaved as if she was unaffected, pouring water for Mu Yichen while he helped her get some snacks.

Everyone was waiting for the dishes to arrive, but Mu Zihao was already accompanying the old man with a little drink, a plate of peanuts in such a luxurious hotel room.

Qin Mu watched the two men drinking white wine, acting as if they hadn’t heard Qin Mingzhu and Feng Fanghua’s conversation, so she pretended not to hear as well.

Until Qin Mingzhu kicked her under the table, causing Qin Mu to glance at her, Qin Mingzhu winked at her: ”Keeping an eye on you!”

Coldly inside, Qin Mu sent her a single word: Scram!

Receiving the message to scram from Qin Mu’s gaze, Qin Mingzhu didn’t provoke her further, though she couldn’t suppress a laugh.
